  1. Yes, but there's also a little black box attached to the frame on the left side under the front of the gas tank that controls the tors...you might want to remove that and try it again. As for the tors elim. kit, it's not necessary to run the bike, it should run fine with them disconnected...just gets rid of those junky metal boxes on top of the carbs. I agree, a good investment in the long run.
  2. Dumb question... how come you drilled the opposite whole in the petcock instead of the on in the bottm for your second line? Maybe because more gas would flow to it than the other...just wondering?
  3. I use mother's billet polish which you can get at any auto parts store for like 15 bucks for a jar and it lasts for a while...that and an old t-shirt will do the trick every time!
  4. Whats kind of power does a 600 make, maybe 90hp? You can get a cheetah cub and make 100+hp and it be more beneficial in a lot of ways. For one, it weighs a fraction of what the ninja motor would weigh and because of that, you would retain the same handling characteristics as a stock banshee. As far as cost...I understand the cub motor would cost a bit more, especially if you already have a ninja motor sittin' around but there's nothing quite like the feel of a helacious 2 stroke powerband!!! I think it would be a cool project to embark on...just hate to see you chop up a perfectly good banshee and get frustrated and quit in the middle of the build like so many others have just to get horsepower when you can go the easy route and upgrade to a cub and get the same affect, maybe even better for a lot less brain damage... just my .02 I agree though, if you decide to do it, take photos along the way and keep us updated!
  5. oops, almost forgot, I also have a stock crankshaft with only like 10 hours on it...pm me if interested.
  6. I have a set of stock carbs and a stock cylinder head.
  7. definately chrome!
  8. sweet...its gonna be a blast!
  9. If you look at the electrode on the leaner plug in the pic, you can see that it is lighter in color. Seems unecessary to me when you can just read the electrode...
  10. I agree...I usually set my bikes on milk crates over the off season to keep the wheels off the ground so that the tires don't get flat spotted but forget to do that to my wifes bike this last year. Needless to say when I was tuning it on the first ride this year there was a wobble at speed. Only way to fix I believe is to get new tires...I would start with the fronts first and see if it goes away because they seem to be the most prone.
  11. DAMMIT!!!...and I was all set to get one too, heard its like bolting on a kenne bell to my banshee... :yelrotflmao:
  12. One of the last trips of the season...anybody going?
  13. I don't know whats wrong with my bike but I have to buy a new set of haulers every dune trip... :yelrotflmao: Must be all that horsepower!
  14. All dumbo ears must die!
  15. The reason for sarcasm here is because every rider is different as is their preferences. I know your intention is good but to ask what setup is "dialed in" is a pretty vague question. What isn't your bike doing right? Is it too mushy or too stiff? What up?
  16. By the way, my stock petcock flowed about 24 ounces of gas in 1 minute...
  17. So I was inspired by all of this and I removed my gas cap to mod it as mentioned...What exactly did you guys remove? One guy earlier said he took out both ball bearings, but mine has what looks like 2 openings...one is covered by a single ball bearing and the other is covered by what looks like a circle piece of felt.
  18. I just rebuilt mine...there are 3 pieces you need to get. While you have the petcock out of the gas tank you can also clean the filter screens too. I did it after a recent dune trip, I discovered that it was leaking and you wouldn't believe how tight it is now! Best part is it only cost $11 bucks!
  19. There was an 02 banshee on craig'slist today that was pretty much stock that the guy was asking $6000 bucks for, I thought that was funny since I paid $4800 for my 04's brand new!
  20. You could do the a-arms the same color as the frame and all the little pieces in between like the tie rod ends, tie rods, end caps(which there are 6 to a side) and bolts chrome...that would look sick!
  21. That brake setup looks badass!
  22. I say when in doubt...run race gas or at least a mix. Trying to save money and run regular gas might cost you more in the long run when you mod a shee, like blown rings, pistons, cylinders, etc.
  23. Then you could prolly do it, it won't really add any power but should make your shee feel a lot more "snappy" when you hit the gas.
  24. First off, are your carbs synced right? If so...you should do a compression test and see if there's an issue there. Between those 2 things and cleaning your carbs as mentioned above, I'm guessing you will find your issue.
