  1. Thats what I thought. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't skipping a step.
  2. Whats the best way to replace a clutch cable?
  3. I really appreciate all the help. I'm not sure when the fluids were changed last. There is a good chance it's stock fluid knowing the guy I got it from. He bought it new and never really rode it. Not the type of guy that spends time in the garage if you know what I mean. Maybe I should change all the fluids just to be safe. Should I change the brake fluid as well? I was checking out the sprockets and noticed there is a plastic ring by the motor that the chain rub. It doesnt look very secured. Just kinda rolls around loosly. Is this norman? I can post a pic latet of the part if needed. I'm going to order a k&n filter next. Baby on the way so I'm just keeping it basic for now.
  4. I just got a 98 banshee from a friend. Runs great starts everytime. It sat up in his garage for 6 years. About a year ago he had the carbs cleaned and a few other minor things done to get it running again. I want to make sure I check everything before I start riding it. I'm going to grease all the points and check the rest of the fluids as well. What are some other things I should check? I not looking to add mods just yet. I just want to make sure it's in good condition. What type of oil should I run? The chain needs some lube as well. Any suggestions on that would be great also. I've only owned 4 strokes before which is less to worry about. I just don't want to over look something and regret it later. Any advice is appreciated. Also is there anything I can do to make the kick start jingle stop? It's pretty loud.
  5. That costs a bit too much. I found one at boats.net for $24 shipped. Went ahead and ordered it this morning. Thanks for the help guys.
  6. For some reason I cant find a website that sells a petcock for a 98 banshee. I found a rebuild kit but I would rather have a whole new one. Any help is appreciated. I would even take a used one as long as it doesn't leak like mine now.
