  1. I would say you have to look at your riding like what kinda terrain you ride on. But i have found that jeans hold up better to riding pants in gravel and hard dirt and asphault. I have friends that ride with arm and knee pads that you use for skateboarding. I would say the chest protecter. broken ribs suck. or the neck brace thing i cant remember what its called. I wrecked my shee and wacked my neck across the handle bar had a bruise for 2 weeks and it hurt to turn my head or talk. just some thoughts on diffrent stuff.
  2. Sorry to hear about your friends that really sucks. Where about in ok. are you at?
  3. I was going to add, that you should check out all of your cooling system for problems. Sounds like detonation to me and can be caused by any number of things:poor quality fuel, overheating from being lean or cooling system issues, impropper squish clearance, too much timing advance, fuel delivery problems (plugged petcock, cap not venting, impropper float adjustment, bowls running dry ect.) too much compression for octane, air leaks ect. Just a few things to consider. You need to diagnose why it burned down or it will do it again.
  4. I would do a leakdown test before you tear it apart to be sure you don't have an airleak. Other than that your needle looks to be lean, your main may be on the rich side masking the lean condition in the midrange. Do a good plug chop to dial in your jetting once you get it back together.

Notsed, I have a set of manifolds off an 06 that are yours for $30 plus shipping let me know As far as the crossover tubes, go through Jeff at F.A.S.T. they are about $14 or $15 for new ones and he keeps them in stock.
  6. I have a deal for you!!! I will trade you my stock frame and 4mm crank for the green bansh of yours............................................... just kidding unless you want to lol
  7. It sounds like a pilot jet or reeds. check and see if your pilot jet is plugged and like misss said check your reeds.
  8. a slight pinging noise isnt really much of a discription. We need a little more to go on. Is it from the front, right side ,left side , exhaust, does it do it at idle or in gear tell us more bud
  9. Why not Im bored. lol I drive a 1970 chevy pick up with a 4" lift 350. slo drives a 2007 dodge ram. cummins. Its the toy hauler mostly. we have a little toyota p.o.s thats good on gas lol our projects are a 1990 gmc jimmy and a 1970 chevy blazer.
  10. Not sure what your lookin for "casing"?? could you be more specific on what part of the bike it is?
  11. Hmmm, a stroker drag bike rockin a stock swinger?????????????????
  12. Thats a good lookin shee for a poor boy. The best you can do buy her clean her after every ride. miticulasly (im not the best speller) On maintanence it depends on you and how much time you want to spend before and after every ride. ie The spark plugs get checked after every ride the filters get cleaned every ride. compression check just to make sure its good. the big things are for example a few days at the sand you might want to take a-arms off shocks ect. and get all the sand out of the joints and re grease everything real good. It does make them last a lot longer, plus bolts tend to get loose after a lot of riding so you will be covering two birds with one stone. just some thoughts for ya.
  13. yeah he let me know that someone was possibly buying them no one had posted on them so I didnt know.
  14. Just the same way you'd pull a flywheel off of a shee. With the proper clutch removal tool and an impact gun. It won't twist the crank.
  15. that would be totally awsome. Hope you can make it down. I am really pushing for time also with my bike its still sittting in the garage with no fluid and the carbs off.
  16. j are you making your xmas list already?
  17. you may have to adjust the carbs a little. were they rebuilt? also check your spark plugs they will tell if you are rich or lean.
  18. there really is no gain in power from this. the stock carbs are fine for a mild bike. Most of the time carb boring is done after having port work done. The money it would cost would be better spent else where on the bike.
  19. So far there are a few ppl planning on going to ls for this weekend. Just wondering how many ppl from the hq are going to be down for that weekend.
