  1. My cheapo tusk clutch from rmatv is holding good. Beat on it pretty hard all weekend and never a slip. Holds in my buddies 4mil too which is a lot hotter than mine. I'm using 3 of the hd springs and 3 stockers. If you want to go 1 step further get FZR1000 fibers and barnett steels, that's what jeff and kevin sells and it's supposed to work great.
  2. It's not the amount of torque, which I agree isn't all that much, it's the constant use / reuse of threading it into the aluminum cylinder. If the cylinder was designed for that repeated use it would be fine, but a banshee cylinder is not. I'd say it would work for a while, I'd just keep some heli coils handy in the toolbox if you go that way.
  3. Just some a guy was selling.
  4. I don't think it's a good idea because everyt ime youremove and replace your head you will be threading the bolt into an alumium cylinder... The studs are steel and are designed to withstand the fatige that the engine puts on them as well as being used multiple times. A normal bolt / threaded hole configuration doesn't stand up to the kind of abuses put on them by cylinder heads too well. Every time the engine fires it stretches the bolt, and it has to be the proper tensile strength and composition to return to its original state without cracking or breaking due to the fatigue. The bolts you have for the snowmobile head may work fine but I would definitely recommend against using a common fastener for this task, and I still don't think you would get by very long without stripping the threads in the cylinder. I do fasteners for a living so just letting you know what I've learned.
  5. Compression is the story teller. That's a lot for even a new bore on 20cc domes... You running race gas? If the compression is really that good I wouldn't touch it. JMO
  6. Nice. 1/4 mile is a long race for quads, a decent banshee should top end them for sure!
  7. Did you check the gap on the pickup coil thing when you removed the flywheel to install the timing plate? You have to set the gap properly or it won't generate the right amount of power to spark. Check that.
  8. True, I should have said the "installation" should take 20-30 minutes. You should soak the clutch fibers in your choice of trans oil for at least 4-5hrs.,
  9. I would get a tusk kit from rockymountainatv.com Get the "heavy duty kit" 46 bucks, use 3 of the heavy duty springs they send you and 3 of your stock ones. Changing the clutch is very simple. Should take you about 20-30minutes.
  10. Ah I gotcha. My bad, looked like you painted them, your engine is clean, paint looked brand new! Mine had the paint too but it was almost all gone.... Just flaked off when I pulled the jugs and ran my finger across the inside of the intakes. Don't know why they paint em from the factory but it's retarded.
  11. long rod or short rod has nothing to do with the domes you run. The fact that it is a 4mm stroke means you will need to have cut domes OR a spacer plate. The piston will come past the top of the cylinder anywhere from 1.65-1.75ish mm and your dome has to be cut or "offset" to compensate for that. Try to run the domes for a stock stroke and the piston will slam into it. Where is your compression now? If you're wanting more power you can get a set of domes made with a tighter squish to raise your compression. Have them setup for methanol or race gas and you would see an increase in power...
  12. Looks good. Kevin does good work, you will be very pleasantly surprised at the power increase. Why did you paint the ported areas? They are left rough cut for a reason, and I wouldn't want that paint flaking off and slamming into my reeds.... The gas is probably going to make it bubble up and flake off. Just something to think about. Approach whatever you to the engine internally to make it run more efficiently/powerful, not for looks LOL. Good luck
  13. WOW! I got them off ebay for a pretty good deal, right around 275. He said they were set up for a 190lb rider and I'm way more than that but I don't jump and I wanted a really soft shock for dune crusing. These are just the ticket, they are sooo smooth compared to the stockers and have never bottomed out or did anything wierd. Steering is so much more positive and bike is much more comfortable to ride. If you have stock shocks, DO NOT spend another dime on mods until you replace them.... Best thing I've done aside from the 4mil build.
  14. I have a stocker with low hours for sale if you're interested. Perfect shape...
  15. And actually I do like to sleep til noon so it may work out great lol...

  17. The way it looks now is Jared will be headed out thursday to try and get the spot we like and get set up. Me and my friend Jesse will be leaving Fri afternoon/evening from Cheyenne / Laramie. I guess if Sasquatch goes he will be there sunday morning ripping around the trailer to wake us up!
  18. I have an 05 King Quad 700 FI Are you still looking for a Utility? This thing is sporty and a blast to ride on trails. Very comfortable suspension and very torquey / smooth engine.
  19. Did I mention Walden was BOOOORRING? It was fun for about 2.5-3hrs of riding but that was it.... I'm sure it will be more fun in a couple weeks when the water starts to flow, but right now it's not much for a whole weekend. Definitely glad we're going to KP.
  20. Tate you should definitely come to KP next weekend!!! Pardon me if I think seminoe looks lame too, I'm sure you can have fun out there just like anywhere else but I promise you if you like long steep ass climbs and the little stuff in that video, you will LOVE KP. Watching sasquatch break things on his body is as much fun as riding yourself!!!! PM me for my number and you're welcome to meet up with us and caravan out in case someone has a blowout / breakdown etc. KP is one of the few places that's worth a 3.5 / 4hr drive that I know of... You better show too Jon, bust ass back there sat night and get some sleep and we will tear chit up sunday and monday
