  5. maybe you have a bad float, ot a badle needle valve in the carb?? how long did you run it after you got it back together?? maybe it needs to be ran a little more to burn the extra oil out of it?? i have also seen silencers that get so packed full of oil, that when they get hot the bike smokes real bad, only because the oil in the silencers is burning off.. mite wanna give that a look.
  6. yep.. use the search button.. its an easy mod.. hell, i cut my own shift stars.. its easy to do.. just have to pull the clutch basket off.. no biggie
  7. its is not recomended to use rtv on the cases.. use yamabond to seal them up.. hey istem.. is there any way that the slides are in the carbs backwards??? one side of the slides has a curve cut into the bottom of it, this cruved side is suppose to face the rear of the carb, towards the air filter.. mite want to check it out.. it can cause the sympton you are describing

  9. sounds about right,, BUT be warned!!! many guys make the mistake of having a non reputable shop port there cylinders,, for the price you are paying send them to a builder, such as HJR, F.A.S.T, passion, etc.. not to a local machine shop.. you may be waisting your time and money, and not to mention having your cylinders ruined by someone cutting the ports up the wrong way.. not just anyone can port 2 stroe cylinders.. it is an art and takes someone with the knowledge to do them the RIGHT way.. so go get your juggs back and call around some well known builders.. this way you know it is gonna be done right, and that you get the power delivery that you want from your banshee
  10. i may be bringing a buddy with me, then i may be alone.. i will be coming up 65 north from ky, so maybe there is someone i can meet up with along the way??? if so somebody let me know.. and i am game for breakfast. i mean dam, those are 2 of my favorite things i like to do, eat and ride the shee.. lol

  12. yep, a modded shift star should help you.. i also grind down the spring on the detent arm to make it a wee bit weaker.. my trail bike shifts great.. but my cub would never shift under full throttle, so it got a dunable overide.. try getting or cutting the star, it does help.

WOW!! your buddy neds to be smacked man.. lol.. just drain the tanka dn the carbs, using a good quality 2 stroke oil, then fire her back up.. i doubt there was any damage done, but if there way there is not much you can do about it now.. just drain everything, add good fresh premixed gas, and ride it..
  15. so are you guys just wanting to ride for the day or the whole weekend?? i usually stay for the weekend when i go riding somewhere.. also depends on how cold it is.. lol.. like you said, i may just crash in the truck or something. dam this cold weather!!! so the gates open at 9 am.. so i will have to leave at around 4 or 4:30 in the morning to meet you guys there... thats kool with me. lol
  16. i am running the 2 into 1 on my trail bike and love it.. i am using t5's, +5 timing, 19cc doems, vforce 2's, and a mild trail port.. it will definately hand a stock carbed banshee itsw ass on a drag run.. i am not trying to open a can of worms here guys.. lol. i know the single carb question has been a very sensitive topic among a lot of guys. i do love mine, but you will not see me putting one on my cub motor though! lol

  18. ok guys, im jumping in on this one, i have been holding out trying to see what the weather will bring, i hate riding in the cold. lol.. i am a few miles south of louisville.. can somebody get me a address for this place??? i need to get an idea of what time to leave.. are you guys meeting up somewhere? or just gonna try to get there at around the same time? somebody fill me in as i want to go also. and if my buddys banshee is done by then he'll be going with me also..

  20. maybe its a good time to get those cases powdercoated while you have it apart.. if so send me a pm and i can get you fixed up.. its also a good time to maybe have your crank trued and wleded while you have the bottom end apart.. and its also a good time to maybe..... LOL, isnt that the way it happens guys?? lol
  21. its really hard to say. wear mostly . maybe a defective bearing, some bad metal in the bearing?? who knows, just fix the dam thing joey!!!! lol

  23. if you have wobble on the crank itself, then you have a bad crank bearing, the bad bearing lets the crank wabble, therefore it lets the seal leak air, . i would say this is what caused your lean condition and melted your piston... so it sounds like you will be splitting the cases,. let me know if u want to have them powdercoated while ya got it apart.. hope this helps man
