  1. Oh.....2+2 = Did you get a new MIG welder and decide to give it a go?
  2. TL;DR FTW! The irony is epic.
  3. Yeah, there is always a boomerang set sitting in a box marked "Return Item" ready to go back out to the next eager credit card racer for a butt dyno test.
  4. Bought 2 sets of used pipes off him so far. Really good guy. And QUICK!
  5. I'm searching for the shock mount on that swing arm..........That's not aluminum is it? Who made that arm and how long is it?
  6. LOL. The OP was no quick read and he started a whole new thread to say what had already been said. Plus his entire post has been re-quoted. At least I didn't quote him before my response. LOL
  7. 421alkybanshee might want these. (I sent him a PM for ya) RON!!!!!!!!
  8. Slow.........did you really feel you needed to start a new post to be able to have your point heard? It's not hard to understand.....your not going to get a "Builder Race" to go down no matter what the terms are you draw up. There are the top 3-5 builders out there (Most already know who those builders are) and everyone else is part of the masses of builders who are OUT of the top 5. The top ten or so at least have a reputation for being well known for what they do. Why would any of them want to line up and have the world see how they stack up against the others? If you have a following of customers who think your great.....what happens if you finish 7th in the builders race? I'll tell you what happens.......Everyone calls the 6 guys ahead of you before they settle for you. If you know for sure who the very best builder is......why call #2? #2 only gets call from people who can't afford #1's pricing or who can't wait for #1 to get around to building a motor for them......and on down the line it goes. Besides, builders try new things every day, so the top guy today might not be the same 3 years from now. Builders support racers who prove they are at the top of their game, but most just sell the motors. If the bike looses....if might have been rider, it might have been chassis/tire/gear, it might have been the tune or it might have been the motor. But there are enough possible factors that the builders blame is almost impossible to prove. So there is value in proving you can make power......but too much risk in trying to PROVE your better than everyone. Just look at last years HQ ride as proof......SRP/PRE called out Matt Shearer figuring they could stand on his shoulders to look big. They took a look at who he was racing and who he was beating and decided that it would be better to turn tail and leave the question un-answered, then to engage in a race and show the world that they we not #1 like they claimed. The only "builder" you see calling people out and stirring up drama, is the same guy who chickened out the last time somebody actually showed up to call his bluff. If your lucky enough to get two guys who are on FULL TILT in an argument, you might get a throw down race. But if your hoping to see SRP in one of those.....I think they are going to have to front some cash to secure their involvement before anybody is going to make the drive knowing their history of backing out. If you want to give this topic legs....take a pole to see how many members would contribute $5-$10 to fund a race for big cash that would be by invite only to the top 10 builders "As voted on by the members of HQ" and run in a qualifying ladder like NHRA does....... Beyond that....I'm afraid we're all just talking to hear ourselves talk.
  9. Guess that's why the site motto here is "Haters Gonna Hate." LOL
  10. +6 with a 10 mill Super Serval?.....That's going to be a handfull. LOL Especialy on the steep coal hills.
  11. Well.....take it from a guy who's 42.....life throws you curves. The things your SURE of, might not be what you as gung-ho over in a few years. When life hits you with the unexpected....it's easier to grab the pile of cash....then it is to try to liquidate a banshee to get some cash. Have the cash as your ready and waiting "down money". That way you can spend the next 3-8 years watching for a killer deal. When opportunity knocks with the deal of a lifetime....you'll be the kool cat with the cash FTW! I see nice bikes sell all the time for the same amount I have in my motor.....
  12. Get the turbine core silencers. Your bike will run the same as before....but it will meet the Silver Lake requirements.
  13. WOW that i5 can do wonders....it even makes Shearers fit. Nice looking ride. Great pictures too. I like how you accented the red colors of the bike by getting the V-4's with the red #4. V-4's FTW!
  14. Put the money in the glass case and do the build later. The technology in every sport grows, so choose your build later in life and take advantage of the options you have available to you then. If you built your motor 3-8 years ago....you wouldn't have even heard about Servals, V-4 reeds, Snipers, etc. Who knows....in 3-8 years the idea of building a bike around a stock frame might seem like a crazy idea. Hybrid frames might have become the norm by then...who knows.
  15. Here Colby, does this work better for you? YES......They had a race like that last year at the HQ ride.......SRP should have been there. Everyone would love to see that.....what a dumb ass question. They do that at tracks quite often....it's call class racing. (No you don't need to have "class" to race. They will let you if you just show up.) You mentioned motor builders........why? Are you unhappy with your current motor builder and looking to see who you should team up with next? You should come to this years ride. I'm sure motors from every major builder will be there. (Well...... if you can talk YOUR motor builder into showing up and actually running the bikes.) Were you going to bring a bike of your own to ride? Will it have the In-Frame pipes you claim make 10 more HP than any other? Were you hoping for an actual "race" (side by side acceleration tests) or were you thinking about parking all the bikes next to each other and debating the potential performance of the combos if tuned correctly? You were looking to test the fastest bikes right?.....Not just the fastest pie hole? Why the HQ ride in September? Why not some place else and sooner...May-June-July....why wait so late? Also why not hit a track where you can document your performance? (You do want proof if your beat that the other guy jumped the start right?) So since your teamed up with the best in the business....why not show the world just what kind of records the best builder/tuner and pipe builder can lay down when they work together? I think many will agree that we ALL would like to see a builder showdown. We'd ALL like to see a pipe showdown too. But..... WE WILL ALL JUST BE SHOCKED IF YOU DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN TROLL FOR THE NEXT 9 MONTHS AND THEN JUST CHICKEN OUT LAST MINUTE LIKE LAST YEAR. They call it the "HQ ride" for a reason........if you just want to show up and WATCH races and hang out around a campfire and talk all night...... Maybe you could take your girl-scout troop to a race and then stay up all night talking about it with the other girls. So.....in short, YES. We would like to see a builder race. What did you have in mind? (I figure your original post might have had a point you were going to explore.) Feel free to share the details of your fantasy weekend........
  16. Nobody was hurt by Gary's new post. Everone is just basicly laughing at a Professional HYPE - O - CRIT. LOL
  17. LMAO Well that was the start of the post. Funny part is that last years HQ ride had lots of various motor builders and pipe builders in attendence. It even had a variety of jockey weights. If someone showed up with a 421 and just raced EVERYBODY and EVERY BIKE, then they could see what it took to beat what. Some guys had small motors beating bigger motors and brag about it to this day. Guess who showed up and didn't? That's right....your boyfriend Gary. His new life partner Jim was at his side and neither could field a machine to run at an event that WAS BILLED AS A CALL OUT RACE WITH SHEARER! The only racing they did was from campsite to campsite to tell everyone how well they would have done if their machines had worked. Nobody was hurt by Gaey's
  18. X2 I like a +6 for an all round banshee as long as the motor is ported and built. (65hp and higher) +4 if it's just bolt-ons. Works fine for me in the woods at The Badlands as well as on the dunes.
  19. 2 pages and this was about lights? I was expecting to see some hillrodded banshee with twin paddle tires rigged on each hub in a youtube link or craigslist post........... Now I'm going to have to do a search and find a dually Banshee......
  20. Hey Gary, if I buy a set of IN-FRAME Snipers and slap them on my REDLINE ported 10 mill cub on gas will I see a 10 hp jump over my Shearers? I can make unlimited dyno runs so I know they will get tuned right. If they suck ass like every independant dyno test I've see so far......can a I get a full refund like many others have? I own my own business and I know credit card charges can add up..... so to save you the expense of extra charges, why not just send a set and if for some wild reason I actually see more power with the Snipers you could just bill me when I keep them. I 'd feel better knowing you won't be risking having to refund money on my card . They don't even have to be new. You could just send me one of the sets the someone else returned. I'm sure I can get them back to you in the same shape they are in.
  21. Hope you got titles.....Or tomorrow the same dude shows back up with the cops...and the titles and gets back his "Banshees you stole" LOL.
  22. I'm running 66.75 in mine for the last 3 years making 65 hp and I'm fine. But I won't get more than a light hone on them at this point. So I'm asking myself the classic "What next" question.
  23. Well that depends.......How much money you got wrapped up in your "Toy"? Because when people ask me how much I have wrapped up in my "Toy".....when I tell them.....they always say "Are you Serious?!?!?" LOL So...I guess you can be pretty serious about your toys.
  24. This is a "Product Reviews Section" and it's kind of assumed it's for people to post their personal impressions of a product they own. Bashing stuff here should only be if your posting your own personal disappointment with a product or even a service. There is ONE person who is posting race timeslips on a national level with these pipes and talking about his performance. If HE'S happy, then that's what this section is all about. There are other sections on this site for the other kind of debates on this subject. IMO This section is not a place for those topics to be voiced.
  25. Sorry, I was having a flashback and picturing you at an old steel desk, in your squeaky wood chair, Rolodex on the edge of the desk next to your rotary dial phone, with one of those old ashtrays that had a vacuum feature to suck in smoke as your searching thru vintage Dirtwheels magazines stored on Microfiche.
