  1. That's why I dyno test things every chance I get. 90% of everything we hear is a heavily repeated opinion that somehow becomes seen as fact. Johnnyboy joined less than a year ago and he's spitting advice. The advice should be that stock carbs can make OVER 70HP and since 80% of Banshee owners aren't making 50HP......the massive amount of guys saying "Get 35's" are clueless.
  2. ........DM destroying? You've never heard me talk like that. Now "Thingamajig"...THAT I have. So...I guess I'm going to have to step up and make the effort to figure out the whole posting pictures things now...... This might take is bit.....Check back tomorrow.
  3. Why is this now the banshee pics thread?
  4. What he's trying to say is......There is a seal above and below the overflow hose. The cap seals to the smaller hole down in the radiator as well as at the flange of the cap.
  5. That's just because he likes your paint work. Doesn't everyone have a set of Phelps Plastics? I know I have a set.
  6. Well I have no idea what the Frame, A-arms and Swing arm cost you. But honestly I figured with all those custom made items, plus powder coat you were closer to $15,000 But at that rate...what's a couple 2 or 3 spare thousand? (Heck drop another $1400 in there somewhere for a full Hinson 8 plate and lock-up.) Plus I thought I remember you buying a few different sets of custom painted plastics that aren't even on the bike......... I'm sure you don't wanna focus on those investments. Think what you would have into yours if you bought new Fullbores and paid for custom paint/air brushing! Then call up Cascade and throw the $2000 bling factory at it! All to go fast down a fire road and be seen by the 2-3 guys your riding with. (Still cheaper than owning a fucking boat!.....or WORSE JetSki/Wave Runners!)
  7. If your going to put that Trinity crap on your bike.....why not reach out to THEM for all the tuning advice?
  8. Real rough numbers - LT Elkas - $1400 Lonestar Hubs - $240 Aluminum Radiator - $70 Shearer raw pipes - $500 Custom foot pegs - $150 Mikuni 41's with intakes/deep bowls and long filters - $750 JJ&A Axle - $650 JJ&A carrier - $180 Aluminum side covers - $500 Crank - $550-$1000 (depending on style) K&T DM top end - $2650 Cases -$200 K&T DM case work - $675 That's over $8700 already and I didn't include chain, sprockets, cables, paint, powder, CUSTOM FRAME, CUSTOM A-arms, CUSTOM SWINGARM, seat, CDI Stator, flywheel, bars, levers, throttle, grips, Tranny ,or even anything for the clutch side ( hub pressure plate, basket, clutch pancake bearing) Tires, aluminum tank.......the odds and ends can kill a budget. I would have guessed you had $12,000 minimum. (And your bike at least LOOKS like you spent high dollar on it)
  9. ^^^ Preach brother! .....And Orange/Viton rings or not......nothing survives a WOT pass on a warm motor till the domes are re-cut.
  10. How do you only have 7k in that bike? You must have gotten some pretty wicked deals on used stuff.
  11. Well thats like saying you have thousands in the bike because your counting all the money spent on fuel for the past 10 years. The "amount" you list you have "into" a bike only includes the parts you see sitting in front of you. NOT two previous sets of tierods you bent and replaced or all your past rebuilds. And a bike is only worth what it would sell for on the open market. We put WAY MORE money into bikes than anyone would give us.I have a machine that (if you tried to copy and bought all parts new) would be close to $20,000. I think I have around 12-15 of my money into it. (Its on par with a Cascade type build paint/polish/power and plating With full chromoly frame and custom Stellar swingarm) but I would be hard pressed to find anyone to pay more than $6000 for it. Your bike is VERY basic as far as parts and mods. My wife's bike has way more done and makes more power. We get the point that you spent a shit ton to get to this point and now your happy to be a front runner in your group. But I don't list the thousands I wasted with Trinity as part of my bike costs. Your bike would be lucky to fetch $3000-$3500 on the open market. So you can see why people are taking your $20, 000 statement and putting it under a microscope. Keep the focus on your current happiness rather than the cost of the path to get there. NONE of us like to think about what we really have into these toys. LOL
  12. Wrong spot. The hot water is coming OUT at the head. The cool water is going INTO the pump. Hot water rises and cold water sinks. Coolant is pushed up thru the motor by the pump. The motor is hotter as the water passes upward so the water is always increasing in temp till it leaves the head. Then it is pushed up to the top fitting of the radiator. There the hot water enters the radiator and begins cooling. As it cools it sinks. The process starts again as the cooler fluid is pulled out of the radiator and goes to the pump beginning another journey up thru the hot motor. So temp gauges and inline coolers go in the hose that comes from the head.
  13. You can make 70HP with FMF's. His pipes aren't holding him back.
  14. Yes. Yes they do. EVERY plastic jug stretches with temps. Hell the metal drums pop and boom as temps change! If you had ever spent any time around pallets of race fuel drums you would know how much temps effect the containers. They ship drums as full as possible to limit the expansion of air. Fluid expands too, but air in the cans/drums lets fuel slosh and makes loads unstable. So NO you aren't getting 5 gallon cans of VP with only 4 1/2 gallons in them. Never happened.
  15. Could someone please Ban Hammer NYUK for all the stupid post mining he's doing. What are you just trying to jack your post count?
  16. Call it.... HEY EVERYONE, NOTICE ME!! REFER TO MY BIKE BY NAME SO I'LL FEEL FAMOUS AND POPULAR. (Because that's what naming a bike really means)
  17. Clean your fuel valve.
  18. Money sent. Let me know when you have a tracking number.
  19. One of these days you'll learn that your plastic cans stretch. That's why they read wrong. (That's why I said it never happened. It's a common mistake.) Try going to a gas station and filling them with exactly 5 gallons as the pump reads.......you'll see that you just got fooled by a stretched out can. As temps go up in the can, it expands. Let your can spend ANY time in the sun and it will stretch A LOT and stay that way.
  20. Wash, rinse, repeat. It's not like I didn't warn you. LOL Here is a suggestion. ...DON'T "Go run it and give it a try". When you geared up you added load. That adds heat and the need for more fuel. At this point the pipes might be part of the issue. They might be too small for a 535 and be backing heat ino the motor. Also you should be doing leak tests BEFORE you tear down top ends.
  21. KX250 = weed Banshee = Crack
  22. .....owner of Buckshot racing broke his back in a sand car. LOL Guys who go big are always going to go big. Guys who crash big keep doing it till it hurts too much to ride. We have a guy who just quite riding this year. He T-boned a van 15 years ago and went in the drivers window and out the windshield. Broke more parts than I can remember to list. Had a chunk of safety glass come out of his nose when he sneezed over a year later! He was always the guy trying to run up front, build bigger and bigger gaps in his double jumps, be fastest even if it was just casual trail riding, etc. Last trip he rode for less than 1/2 the day and went home early. Ended up missing 2 days of work just from being so sore. Bikes for sale now and he's talking like he wrote all his "Fun Checks" in life, and has nothing left to look forward to. People are going to do what they want no matter what people tell them.........We've all seen pictures of worn out crack addicts, but there is still always somebody saying "Yeah, I'll try a little just once". We all know Banshees are our form of crack.
  23. No. Didn't happen.
  24. Very nice "Before" pics. That pipe design looks good. (Won't hold coolant....easy to drain fluid out tailpipes) But your going to have to be looking back to see the vapor cloud. But seriously, cool looking hybrid. Should be a wild ride if the V.D. flair-up's ever end.
