  1. looking for the best bang for my buck really.. an all around pipe. i know anythings gonna be better than stock.. but id like a nice welll rounded bike. not one thats only top end or only bottom. my riding varies so thats why i'd like to stay versatile as possible. Dunes, Street, Trails. Thanks again.. i know this question is beat'n with a stick everyday.

  3. ill be making my way back to silver lake September 11th. And im really considering buying some pipes before i go.. The only mods i have to the engine = T.O.R.S is removed, and a billet water pump. The bike is stock. The only other mods ill do is either run pods, or a K & N with the lid removed, exhaust and piston and rings as necessary. Ive done a tone of research on here "the pipe explanation thread" and every pipe manufacturer web site... still torn on what to buy. Toomey T6's, FMF SST's, DMC alien or 916, PC's???? there are a few sets on e-bay toomey t-5's and fmf fattys.. this guy is local too.. Toomeys FMF FATS

    not sure on the steering.. good question. from what i understand its a more comfortable ride, for the obvious reason that the bars are angled closer to you.. i wonder if the stock bar clamp will work as well.. may have to buy a different clamp.. that would drive the price up a tad.. thats cascade for ya.

    Looking at picking up some new handle bars.. interested in some V bars.. or a good brand of normal bars. They look and seem more comfortable than your regular bar. Also noticed them quite often on the duners.. thanks for the input! FlyRTby

  11. Went out to silver lake this past weekend for the first time. Damn near creamed my pants all day long riding. What a blast!! Anyway, the last day i was having issues towards the top of some hills if i lost even the slightest momentum. I can still get her into gear.. but with the paddles and the sand, the motor rev's to the moon but the tires wont barely turn over. I assume, SLIPPAGE! Not to mention my gear oil is LOADED with metallic.. My question is what can i upgrade? I see a lot of you guys running lock up clutches(i have no idea what they are/what they do). I noticed the billet basket sticky on this forum.. I'm assuming that's for the guys running see through clutch covers?? Also I've always had a difficult time finding neutral. And to fix that, is what? Shift star mod? Is there a Pre-Modded Shift star i can buy? Or is it just as simple to just Do-it-yourself and save the loot? I know this is a lot of info/questions. I appreciate all help i can get. Feel free to throw in any suggestions. Lightened flywheels, maybe lightening pressure plate/carbon steels?? I'm just throwing names out there. HELP! In a nut shell i want this clutch to be MEATY! I plan on going back out to the dunes and TEARING it up so i'd rather not have this problem. Thanks again!

  13. Anyone going to be there?? Also... Should i run with or with out my rear plastics... First time duner here.. I love how my bike looks without the rears.. But i'd rather not take a shower in sand if i don't have to..
  14. im still broke.. wtf!?! cruises fine.. then LUGS.. what the hell is going on?? i tried adjusting my air screwss. theres almost all the way in and still.. bog/lug.
  15. bone stock. not even a K&N pro-flow do-jobber. I'm going off mental picture memory so it was either a 200 or maybe a 210 jet? like i said i will double check that when i get home. hope thats all my problem is.. thanks again for the help
  16. when i run her with the air box off i get a "raspy" air sound when i hit the throttle. pretty much the same sound i got when i was running the bike with the air box and boots completely removed to sync the carbs.. ill try it though... one other thing is i adjusted my slides by watching them and adjusting till they were both EXACT.. was this the proper way?? or should i have used the sync tool at 1/4 throttle or whatever steady RPM?? thanks.
  17. im pretty sure i did. i counted 2.5 turns, maybe 3 out. i matched it up before i unscrewed it

Fair waring this is really hard to explain. i know im a nwb my first and second gear, at steady 1/4 throttle speed, it feels like im starving for fuel and bogs down..i almost have to rev my way out of not stalling. and it continues to do this. cruise, bog, cruise bog, all in first and second. then once in 3rd its smooth. WOT also smooth. my bike is bone stock. and i just re-built the carbs. almost positive the jet size was the same. 205 i believe not 100% positive i'd have to check the old one. i bought the carb sync tool. and both carbs are pulling the same exact vaccum at idle. and both slides open at the same exact time. where should i start?

  24. I like the idea of the telescoping flag. and the price is right.. just wanted to know what everyone's running out on the dunes Telescoping Flag And if anyone runs this Telescoping flag have u ever changed the flag?? Is it easy/difficult? Or are all flags/whips flags set ups easy to change?
