Yes I would go with the pipes and filter first, if your used to a stock bike then your going to be surprised what that alone will do for you powerwise. Then coolhead and timing and it will be like a whole different bike! Those mods really wake up a stock Banshee.

I'm at sea level and I run 21cc domes with pump gas. I think you'd be satisfied with the performance gain of a coolhead, especially if your looking for a bump in low-end power. + they look great! Also as far as the money goes it comes with the territory,....... fast is expensive!

I probably put too much oil on my foam filters because I really soak them down good, but then I squeeze all the excess oil out really well. I just want to make sure that everywhere is covered good. Probably a waste of oil/money but worth it for peace of mind. The K&N on my Shee I just lightly coat. Yeah it's easy to get too much on them.

Welcome to the HQ, 87bansheeguy. I would say some basic mods would be to replace the boost bottle with the stock crossover tube, and get a coolhead and timing plate. That should give you a decent boost in power if your not ready for porting yet.

I'd just put a plug in it. I got a hole in one of my back tires about a week or two after I got mine. I put a regular car tire plug in it and it hasn't gone down yet, and that was about 2 and a half years ago.

That does look good, that's the first time I've seen one of those. Looks like it would be easy to clean/polish too.

You definitely don't want to leave your quad in the driveway in my neighborhood! There are a couple of dope houses nearby with late-night mischief going on all the time. Like what happened to you I mainly worry about early morning theft after I leave for work. I have alot of security, but I still worry. You were very fortunate your neighbor caught that dirtbag in the act before he got away with it.

That's true, but he may be looking at some down-time with it being this time of year and being on a list. I was just throwing that suggestion out there as an option for a quick power mod. I'm wanting to get some porting done to mine but I'm going to wait for my first re-build when I have it all apart already.

Yes I agree, a coolhead would be another good choice for a mod..... really nice power increase.

So how is your girlfriend liking the Raptor? Looks like a really nice bike and that was a good price, too. My wife hasn't even ridden mine yet, she has a Wolverine 350. She's still kind of new at riding and doesn't like the clutch's too well on my bikes.

Well, when you order a coolhead you'll need to choose domes to go in it. It's not too hard to install it. I use the 21cc domes to stay on pumpgas. You can use the search to view alot of threads about them and see if you might be interested in getting one. I use a Nosshead and I'm very happy with it.

I have a completely stock Raptor. They are pretty quick out of the box. I've never raced a Banshee with it, so I have no Idea how it would compare. The two differ so much it's hard to tell.

The Banshee name speaks for itself, it's what it's widely known as. The YFZ 450 has no other moniker, so it's only natural to call it a "YFZ" for short. When somebody asks me what kind of four-wheeler I have I don't tell them a "YFZ 350V Banshee".

I don't know, I had some of the Holeshot HD's on my Warrior and I thought they hooked up pretty well. But I have heard the Razr's were some of the best tires out there. I'm looking to get some of the Holeshot GNCC's for my Shee and try them out. I've heard good things and bad about them.

You may get a slight difference in temperature, but the main advantage is it enables you to change domes to increase your compression. This does make a big difference in power.

Post up some pics. I've had the same thoughts as you, sometimes I wonder what mine would look like with black rims.

What is your elevation? At sea level 21's are probably as low as you want to go on pump gas. You might could get by with 20's, but I wouldn't chance it. Just depends on how much compression youv'e got. Anything over 160 and I believe you're looking at a mix of fuel. 22 domes would be about like stock.

I'm around sea level and I run 300's with open box, K&N and Fatty pipes. Your reeds are between the carbs and the cylinders. Well, I actually run an EHS outerwears lid.... but it pulls air like an open box.

lol Now that's some serious dedication! :biggrin: My boss has a Ranger and he has a time getting his Trailboss into it. He mentioned something about it the other day.

Those billet intakes look sweet! I plan to eventually get some of those, but for stock cylinders.
