  1. Ya u don't wanna use plain ol RTV. I've been using the ultras. Ultra black or ultra grey. There might be a red or copper too. Think it's a heat resistance deal with that one. Had good luck with those. Was actualy recommended that by a builder. Alot easier to come by and work with than the other sticky stringy case sealers.

  6. You aren't gonna have the power u had. Unless you add something to make more power. Just the way it works with elevation. If you wanna be safe on your jetting though keep going up jet sizes till it starts to sputter, then back it down till it clears out. You can do that with your mains and the needle. Your pilots you should end up somewhere around 1 1/2-21/2 turns out on your airscrews. If its less your jets are too big. If you go out further your jets are too small. The way I always set the airscrews is get the motor warm and idling decent speed. Then start with both screws in the same position. Turn both screws equal amounts in or out till u get the highest idle. If you end up where I told ya in turns you're good to go. Then after that set your idle speed where u want it.
  7. I guess for clarification I knew I didn't have anything dicked up I'm my lower end other than a leak. So wasn't worth the extra effort and the top end only has 4 tanks ran through it. If your picking chunks out your gonna be better off pullin all the way down. Or finding them after they eat a bearing.
  8. That's about half the price or less of a decent running motor. Will he let you take it apart and inspect? Def worth the price if it's not completely thrashed. Cases $150, trans $75-125, cylinders $150-250, etc.
  9. I just recently did a redneck reaseal on my bottom end. Flipped it upside down, pulled the bottom case, then the trans. Cleaned everything up with the crank held up outa the way (it won't come out with the pistons still attached, not on a cub anyway). Put new seals in it, added new sealer, slapped the trans in it, put the cases back together. Torqued everything down and let it sit for a day. Slapped it back in the bike and rode the crap out of it. Still workin. Kinda surprised myself.
  10. There's a lot of stuff you can do. The right tires will make a world of difference. Some decent shocks would make the ride over all those rocks and ruts a lot more bearable. Some decent skids would be a must. Maybe smaller sprockets, little more ground clearance. Nerf bars with pegs built in with deep spiked pegs. Hand guards, rubber isolated bars and or steering stem, hydro steering stabilizer, good brake pads and rotors that will shed mud. Then motor stuff, keepin it cool. Coolhead of some type, oversized radiator, water pump impeller, maybe one of those finned deals that goes inline. Porting, reeds, carbs, pipes, air box mods for low to mid power and to pull the heavy 6 ply tires you'll prob want. Heavy duty clutch and springs and a billet clutch basket. Maybe a decent gripper seat cover to keep your ass glued to the seat when it's all slimy. What else you need? Sky's the limit.

  13. Current? So amperage right? Or we talking voltage? If amperage I think with that meter you'd have to put it in series with the load wouldn't ya? Need amp probe(clamp) to make it easy.

  21. U guys hard core bikers? I've just got a bottom of the barrel diamondback 29r. Just picked up some hydro brakes for it. Still has a shit fork on it. I'm not in so great of shape. I take alot breaks. Did take a ride yesterday morning and actually rode the whole way this time. No pushing. Pretty proud of myself. Haha

So which side of town you guys think would be better to be closer to the goodstuff? I was thinkin maybe sw would b a good direction? But not really sure.
