When do you need stiffer clutch springs
350BANSHEE350 replied to 350BANSHEE350's topic in General Banshee Discussion
im a strong kid, all my buddies cant stay on my shee for more then 10, the thumb throttle and clutch is too stiff, and after 7 hours for me it gets hard. so should i go with stock springs or 50/50 im not sure, ill probably buy the clutch lever from fast and i have stock gearing too. i do have a 13 tooth front but then i can't tighten the chain enough to specs, so maybe ill buy a rear sprocket with a few more teeth on it. i ride fast in the trials, especially with only having stock susp. etc, but i know for a fact that i wll be able to ride much harder and safer with easier thumb and clutch usage. thanks for input guys -

okay guys thanks, i do have an easy pull and new cable on the bike, but with the big tires (i mean real heavy) i usually need to use my clutch alot, ill go with the easy pull ones till my clutch goes, then i will use 50/50 -

yeah e was mentioning the old 2-stroke deisels, hes a trucker he has been one for almost 30 years, hes good at what he does but he doesnt like working 18 hours a day including his sleep and only seeing me for 1 hour each day, its good money but its hard on him and its getting hard on me, anyways sorry bout that, back on topic, im at 4000 feet my compression is 116 which is a bit higher then average for the altittude so i think with just +4 i can do without needing high octane fuel, i should still be pounds away from needing higher then 93, how much compression does +4 do anyways? but he is just leary about doing all this work, but i keep telling him everyone does and this is minor stuff and wont affect the reliability anyways thanks guys for all the help. -
my dad thinks its a bad idea because it wasnt good for the old deisels, well a timing plate affect the reliability at all? just at +4, i need to know asap im looking to order one tonight thanks duuuuuddeeee

same please PM me reasonable price -
i have heard that you cant go much more then that, you can but you must check your squish clearance first, thaats the clearance from the top of the piston to the dome of the head

its an awkward fit for any pipe especially those, you just have to be patient and try every possition and twist turn etc it just takes some playing around
-
okay, so now i need to really think lol, but hell its a goo dthing i made this thread, and loco im not starting an arguement, but im sure that the snowmo builders can still do a good job dont you think. like its still 2-stroke, its more then one cylinder and im sure they have great tools for the job.savage i sent you a PenisMessege
-
yeah thats kinda what i thought about too, brings me to another question, what tolerances are there, i know of squish clearance, and ring end gap but i do not know what the tolerance specs are for that and thats all i know of, if someone could fill me in on every tolerance there is and how to check it besides squish which i know and i think for ring end gap you use a feeler guage on the ends of the rings to measure the gap between the ends, but how do you know what the specs are for those

So obviously i want to go fast since im still young and can take it unlike some of the old guys on here, just playin. but on topic here, i will want to get my jugs ported and by none other then jeff, but im worried about loosing reliability, here is what my plans are, so i have about 100 or so hours on the stock top end of my 07 and once it is due for a top end i already have money put into my savings for the top end, so once it is time i was going to send my jugs and head to jeff, i was going to go with a mx/woods port but see if jeff and get that to work alright with the t-5s i have, i was going to get him to shave the stock head too, i want to still run pump gas though, but at 4000ft i am only at 116psi on perfect stock cyl/pistons which is perfect, but want the low end so i want to be around 140psi, i willl be getting jeff to do the boring and honing and all the work accept putting it together, which i will do now i just want to know how much reliability this will knock off, no shit towards jeff, im just talking general porting, thats why i only want jeff to do it because in my eyes and lots others he is the best. so please give me any opinions or feedback or whatever, please help me make up my mind. oh and i want it to go faster then my buddies 700r too which just has the big 3 mods and it hauls thanks guys

Where Do I stand now? Whats next
350BANSHEE350 replied to BrianEb's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
my dirtbike did the same thing, its possible that most of the metal went out the pipe but you can be 100% sure that there is metal in the crankcase and that means you need to split the cases and thuroughly clean the bearing/replace check for play in the rod and you might as well get it trued and welded, your cylinders might only need a hone, you need to take it to a boring shop and get the walls checked, they will tell you how much it needs to be bored etc -
BANSHEE FOR SALE. LAS VEGAS, NV
350BANSHEE350 replied to killabeez26's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
dude et the fuck out man, race quad my ass, stock pipes, and banshees are known for kicking ass not idleing bad, this is like one f those infomercials its total bullshit but they try to make it sound and look like the best god damn thing. 25 hours is a lie 5 bottles of armor-al only akes off 10 hours of use, not 100 -
well at first i thought maybe your compression was low, but i read on and obviously i have changed that first guess to the compression being to high, you must be preigniting, so the spark plugs are useless because the compression is high enough to combust the fuel before it needs a kick in the ass by the spark plug, did you give the machine shop your pistons that are going in it before they did the bore job, most places will match the pistons slightly to the bore job being done. my guess is that its to tight of a fit in the cylinders and compression is too high and youll need to have the machine shop bore i out a little more
-
nope, stick with your normal mix, it doesnt matter, and with the price of gas as it is, having to pay for that extra oil is hurting, and i have heard that you want some friction to seal the rings faster and tighter

WTB: banshee piston kit
350BANSHEE350 replied to Bansheeb0y5505's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
hey man whats up!, yo check rjatv.com i think it is, he sells the complete kit brand new for 170 cheapest price i have seen. -
if it was jetted correct before you put the noss head on then it should still be alright, the higher octane gas makes the plug color a bit brighter i heard, so maybe go up one size on the main and test it out, if no bog then keep it there
