make sure you have the choke tube connecting the carbs together.That could be your prob.

I am not to sure of the cdi.As far as the coolant bracket,alot of guys relocate that to the trash,including myself.No issues at all with anything.

are both sides firing okay? What does the smoke look like? You may need to just go rip her around real good and blow that shit out.
