  1. Do you need something top of the line like ELKA? if not buy some decent shocks and a-arms and come out cheaper. Im in the same boat though, im shopping for a new front end set up. I think wicked a-arms are $300. That along with some decent shocks and ima call it a day.
  2. yup mine never gave me issues. Very well built product for sure. The toomey website says heads dont do much because the radiator makes all the difference. I dont know though.
  3. There was a ice cubed 450r(done up 480cc) sunday. I was not impressed. I'm very curious how ported shees do against ice cubed biked with equal drivers and awesome traction.
  4. It all depends on the track. Ours has top fuel runs(NHRA events etc) etc there from time to time. All we are required to have is long pants, long sleeve shirt and a helmet. No fancy things required. You can run knobby tires whatever you want. It's awesome. Almost makes me want a drag shee for asphalt
  5. Too bad NOSS doesnt make their heads without their logo on it. I HATE company logos on my bike besides yamaha. If they dont help me out beyond the norm, then the hell with free advertisment.
  6. You just dont slap a cub set of juggs on there and call it a day too, not sure if you know that. You will probably want a lockout and other parts that it takes to handle such hp. You figure your OEM parts are made to handle 30-40hp...not the crazy power of a cub.
  7. +2 sounds too good to be true. Anybody has tried Alba a-arms? If so, are they any good? :ermm:
  8. my 450 complete front end is up for sale. $325 shipped. It will handle a lot better than stock but the ride height get's lowered but it's not too low for me. You have to work the bike to get it the front up but it's awesome for drag racing. If you look in the images forums i have recent pics of my bike(black and white with the ladies grill). I just want something w/ normal height and more travel. Some love the set up. Some hate it.
  9. suspension THEN a port job. period. Dont drag port your bike unless you tried riding a drag shee before. The powerband is shit for playing around. It's all or nothing. Im ported and sure i love the huge power increase but w/o a smooth ride it isnt as enjoyable as it could be. You cant fly over whoops or bumpys stuff if your bike is bouncing all over the place.
  10. rider rider rider..... Are you holding the gas WOT or close to it and slipping the clutch to shift? that's make a noticable different cuz you say on the rpms. Your port job might not be that good though. I raced many 450r's but i cant tell you the mods they had cuz i dont really ask much. One i race was supposed to be cammed but i got him on top. I fail at the "C" part dajo mentioned though haha. All in all it's not big deal to loose against any bike. Just enjoy your bike and keep it running reliable.
  11. talk to the guy porting your juggs. He SHOULD know.
  12. what gearing u ran for the 1/4? Im sure my bike with a 15t maybe even a 16 front would top out before the 1/4.
  13. here's a picture of mine. I dont jump anything so i cant testify to it's strength. It works fine to me. Plus for $200 and a nice warrenty, why not.
  14. Actualy im glad to hear that. Its nice to see people beating the hell out of their bikes. I've done long drags races over and over again and i was suprised how well my engine hold up  . People were letting theirs cool and i was just pushin on. racing cars in the 1/4 sounds like a blast. They wont let us do that here. Id be all over that!
  15. a 1/4 mile is a very long race imo. I think i can almost top out in the 1/8th. I dont see a point in racing a 1/4 mile. It's just hard on the bikes' engine and hp/sprocket sizes will decide the winner.
  16. gotta gives some props to yourself too man. You set that bike up awesome not to mention you are one hell of a rider.
  17. Rider makes all the difference. Getting off the line is the most important thing imo. I watch a lot of drags when i go ride and it's always a roll of the dice(it's mostly 400s/450s 4 strokes with your basic bolt ons). People take off bad, wheelie when they dont want to, miss a shift, stall yadda yadda. I am guilty of all of those errors and i have the video to prove it heh. The only time i see a person consistently win is when they are pushing some MAJOR with a set up leaning toward to drag rather than play around. IMO just build a fun/reliable play bike and be happy. btw, port it with supporing mods and you can beat them even if you get beat off the line. Ported shees pull very hard when set up right.
  18. did that already. Good thing it didnt snap in two pieces, i was able to back the screw out.
  19. pro wedges. period. but stay off asphalt/cement. i have cut knarlys and i still want more traction.
  20. quality > quantity
  21. i messed with those screws many many times. i never used lock tight or a tourqe wrench. I just snug them down evenly, it's not hard. BTW, invest in a clymer.
  22. damn i hate when people quote an entire first post full of pictures. it makes me have to scroooooooll so far down. Ill give you $85 shipped for the pegs(via paypal only). *edit, i just read 130 is the lowest you will go. I can not drop that much cash on that right now. Good luck with it though.
  23. i gave you exactly what you asked for. Good luck with whoever you go with, im sure you will be happy:thanks:
  24. My ported dynoed 55.5rwhp. My carbs had two different needles in it and the jetting was off. My mistake but im very satisfyed with the numbers. Considering im on pump gas and it's a mild play port, it runs very hard. The powerband is broad and the power stays strong till about 9500 rpms. Not bad for $380 for the port job and return shipping and that's including lightening my flywheel. you can read more here http://forums.everything2stroke.com/banshe...-vids-pics.html
  25. Dennis(flotek) ported my banshee's juggs and lightened my flywheel. I got a mild aggressive play port. It runs VERY strong and the powerband is very broad. It's exactly how i wanted it. Everytime i see a porting thread i try to throw flotek's name out there. He had awesome turn around time and great after the sale help. My bike does have more low end but i am still running pump gas. That's what my supporting mods are set up for. I about shit my pants the first time i felt the powerband. It was a night and day difference for sure. However, i can not comment on any other builder's work because no one around here has a ported banshee besides myself. Just do some research as the above said.
