Rider makes all the difference. Getting off the line is the most important thing imo.
I watch a lot of drags when i go ride and it's always a roll of the dice(it's mostly 400s/450s 4 strokes with your basic bolt ons). People take off bad, wheelie when they dont want to, miss a shift, stall yadda yadda. I am guilty of all of those errors and i have the video to prove it heh. The only time i see a person consistently win is when they are pushing some MAJOR with a set up leaning toward to drag rather than play around.
IMO just build a fun/reliable play bike and be happy.
btw, port it with supporing mods and you can beat them even if you get beat off the line. Ported shees pull very hard when set up right.
