  1. Hey guys, I figured I'd offer this up here before I try eBag. For anyone wanting to try an RZ conversion here's almost all the parts you'd need! Not pictured are the stator and flywheel but they are included too. I ended up with all these parts as extras. You'll need a CDI. They pop up on ebay from time to time OR you can go with RDDREAMS like 421stroker's bike. The only thing else is the guts of the servo pulley on the on the jug which is about $50 from a dealer. The jugs are on the stock bore and have never been ported. The pistons show a lot of blowby so you'll atleast need a hone, most likely a clean-up bore. All the elctronics are off an '84 bike as is the stator and flywheel so wiring shouldn't be much of a problem. The topic has been covered here a few times. Again, nothing is wrong with these parts. I collected them while piecing together the whole RZ setup. In fact, I'd rather use these electronics but I bought a complete wiring harness with controllers that was on a banshee. I'm thinking $600 shipped?
  2. ok, that's kinda what i needed to know too....a billet basket bolts to the stock gear? that's not too bad. i do have a clymer's...just not with me. thanks guys! Matt
  3. Before I go tearing up a decent clutch basket and gear, could someone tell me what all I need to do to rebuild the assembly? Here's what I got, my clutch basket has about 1/8th inch rotational play while holding the gear on the back....is this because of the cushions? I don't know what cushions look like or where they go. I'm in uncharted territory for myself here! Thanks! Matt
  4. hey, sucks on the intake! how much for that whole clutch assembly + the sprocket from the crank?
  5. Ok, this could be a dumb question but here goes.... I had a set of Gnarlys going to FMF PowerCore2 silencers. The Gnarly pipes slid inside the flange on the silencers. The fit was tight enough I didn't need to use any type of clamp. Now, I'm going to be running PT High Revs and want to keep the same silencers. Only problem is the end of the PT and the flange on the silencer is the same size. Do they just butt up together and get clamped somehow? I can see this being the case since once mounted in place neither the pipe or silencer really moves much. Thanks, Matt
  6. Hey, How about a clutch basket and gear...or, the whole clutch assembly? Price it to me both ways. Thanks! Matt
  7. Hey Guys, It's finally time, I'll be putting the RZ in my 'shee tomorrow and I've got a few questions. 1)Do the powervalves have a home position? Will the controller find home? Or, can I determine home in the way I set them and therefore determine if they'll hit more in the bottom or top rpms? I'm running a battery eliminator so they won't cycle before startup. 2)The most popular question on here....any jetting recommendations? I'm running stock 'shee carbs with 280 mains at the moment and stock reeds for now (possibly the RZ reeds if you think they'd perform better). I have a feeling they are going to be way lean. For the time being I'll be running PT High Revs and no airbox. 3)I kind of want to run a hone through the cylinders real quick, they have a little bit of glazing. If I do should I go ahead and buy new rings? About honing, anybody care to give me some technique advice? What type to use? What should the end result look like? Thanks guys! Matt
  8. hey man, you say the carb may be sold...how about the manifold??? if you still have it, shoot me a price!!!!!!
  9. hey man, getting ready to do an RZ shoehorn too!! anyways, i'm looking at your price list....maybe this is a stupid question but what does "polished edges" in the engine section look like? thanks! Matt
  10. i read it like he didn't want to cut up/splice his buddy's cdi. i was mentioning the easiest thing i could think of.
  11. hey man, here's my advice....put a new headgasket on there. i say that because if you look at a new gasket, it has "ribs" in it that i think are there to compress and help it seal. if you're doin' it, might as well do it right.
  12. if you can get a hold of a flywheel tool, i'd swap them and see how that worked. check your pickup gap too.
  13. hey, are you talking about a 2into1 here? if so, how much?
  14. if need be i could deliver everything to OH, WV, IN, KY and anywhere between Cincinnati and Minneapolis for the next couple weeks
  15. i meant is it a trinity or did you build it yourself?
  16. hey man, i don't mean to bogart your thread, but what is a "1 into 2 intake" that's in your sig? is that something you fabbed? thanks! Matt
  17. haven't heard back from him so it's still for sale
  18. man, that sounds just like what mine did. here's what i found when i rebuilt it. 1) crank seal was in backwards....not sure what effect that had but it couldn't be good. 2) the 2 studs in the very front of the head were slightly longer than the rest. you'd hit the end of the threads before it was torqued down. I had to add and extra washer to get it tight. you could see the blowby across the gasket and into the water jacket from this! 3) i was double super extra meticulous when resealing the cases with yamabond. 4) i guess it's worth noting, i used gaskets on the jug bases that had sealant on them, the old ones were just the paper type. once i did all this, it fired right up and ran good! oh, check those stupid slides!!! i went round and round with them. hell, at one point it ran better with them in backwards!!!! i think due to some or part of all 1-4. good luck, matt
  19. 1996 Coil. I siliconed the connections to the body. $40+shipping 2002 CDI. I bought this as a backup and never used it. $60+shipping Thanks! Matt
  20. Hey guys, I need to sell my current engine to make way for an RZ350. I'm selling just about everything you'd need to bolt this one in and go. Unfortunately I only have a couple pics that I took with my camera phone. It's currently in the 'Shee in my sig. #1 #2 I had the motor completely apart over the weekend to put in a transmission. I thought the original one had a bent fork but as it turns out the shifter rod was missing the tiny spring that keeps the hooks centered on the shift star....yea, didn't know it was there until we really looked at it!!! So, it's got a fresh transmission out of a 2001 now. I replaced all the seals and gaskets. The cylinders are at 65mm and they don't appear to be ported. The bore is fresh, it was done by the previous owner...the cross hatch marks were still visible. The clutch is fresh too. The pics suck and make it look like a wreck...if I were keeping it I would've painted it. One thing to mention, it's got the chain damage to the case. The damage doesn't go into the flywheel compartment or transmission area. I got everything back together Saturday afternoon, it fired on the 2nd kick! Road it around the barn yard to make sure it shifted right (damn you stupid little spring!) and killed my brothers Craptor a few times. A set of FMF Gnarly pipes are also included...they are powdercoated grey. It has a serious midrange hit with these. The CDI, coil, regulator and wiring harness are all included. It's set up for no TORS and a kill switch. So, you get everything except the silencers and carbs. I'm asking $1000 obo, I guarantee it will run. I'm in Ohio, 45177. If you want to come by on a/this weekend and see/hear/ride it Saturday is the only day I can be there is Saturday. Pay with Paypal and I can ship it out immediately. Thanks! Matt

    RZ350 CDI

I tried to win one on fleaBay in the last 5 seconds and still got snipered...so, I'm looking for either an '84 or '85 CDI box for an RZ350. Thanks! Matt
