yea on mine I had to grind off about .15" after it was flat to get the slides to open up enough. look into the carb off and twist in the screw from 1/4 way out and see if the slide cracks open a hair. Your probley not lifting enough and choke/flooding resulting in all the gas/smoke.

I fixed it so the cable works full range of motion so Ill have to wait to test it out one more time. I cant try it on my street anymore cos my neighbors suck. Is it possible its the oil Im using? It seems to catch up ok when its warmed up. I had another shee about 5 years ago that was modded up, and this one is pretty much bone, so I dunno if my expectations are just to great for a stocker or if its something else.

can I adjust the clutch preasure plate without draining everything? I might have to do that. If that doesnt work in going to replate n spring the clutch.

all I wanted to do was make sure my sht works. I just did a ground up. I dont want to go 120 miles and get out in the middle of no where and break down. They could just come out and ask nicely please dont ride near my house im sleeping I have pets, its annoying, whatever and Id go away. No need to be a dik! One guy had 2 cars parked on the sidewalk,.... not hurting anyone, so I called code enforcement. Next time one of their kids go by on a go ped or some sht maybe I should throw a stick in the spokes. Those arent alowed on the street either. I wouldnt Im not an ass!

Yea I know its against the law, Ill bet my next paycheck everyone on this site has had their bike on the steet one time or another. I dont do it constantly, was for a little bit. Thing is I had a zuki 4 stroke and I would ride around for hours and not one person would say sht. I have alleys (dirt) that go through every block in my area so I usually ride through there. There is nothing but pavement where I live so I can only pack up and drive an hour or more for good riding. Its just weird all the sudden everyone freaked out when before no one said anything. One maybe 2 people I could see but everyone dropped what they where doing to yell at me like a litlte kid instead of calling the police. And riding spaces are taken away from asses littering/dumping, starting fires and trespassing, not riding on a surface streets for 5 minutes.

the lever is after market, and so was the cable, from 2 different sellers...eBay . It has the copper colored threaded adjuster with locknut, and with the locknut on and the adjuster all the way in it slightly opened the lever, but the cable wasnt pulling enough. so I took the locknut off and screwed the adjuster all the way in and then shaved the bit that stuck out (causing the lever to open) to bring the cable up closer and get more pull. The cable is set right, I think the setup I got is cheese.

Its castrol 80w gear oil for atvs/motorcycles.

I just got my newest banshee running, my last got stolen about 5 years ago, I havent had a total of 20 minutes around the hood and everyone on my street has come out and threatened to call the police and yell n sht! I know Im not supposed to ride and especially race up and down any road but damn like 6 different people came out to bitch. An talk to me like Im some punk kid.

I just got my bike on the go a few days ago and when I went for the first test run, it would barelly go,. then I figured out I didnt have enough clutch cable and had to modify the perch to get all the cable I could to fully disengage the clutch then it moved. Thing is Im not sure if I still need a hair more cos when I first run it it seems to slip a little, but after a minute give or take it seems to pick up more n more. As in less slipping.

playing with fake money is stupid cuz noone cares. people bet n call every hand. If you wanna learn, you have to play with real money, even if its just nickel n dime. I played fake for a few months before real and I got good then I went to real money and all the sudden I was not good at poker. Its alot different.

why did zuki discontinue those old lt250/500`s anyway? They where ugly as hell and didnt handle factory so well from what Ive heard, but when I was in my early teens, some guys a couple blocks away from me had a bunch of them ,maybe like 5 and a triz, and those bikes where frikin FAST!

Ive dealt with this person on eBay a few times, and havent been much thriled, the first one was for a pair of carbs. One of the tors caps was stripped and was supposed to be "rigged" to work and when I got them it was all busted up,the slides where caked with black sht, but I left a positive feedback cuz I just used them for parts. Second I got a coil that was supposed to be post 91. I think it was supposed to be off a 2001 but im not positive and it was a 2GU---it worked so I left a positive again, then at the same time got rear axle hubs. I wasnt sent the ones pictured on the auction, but I was sent a pair and one lug was broken off, and it was broken before it was sent, I could tell it had been broken for a while because the break had been pitted already and slightly dulled. I told him and he sent me a replacement lug. So I had to wait to ride a few days. So I left a neutral feedback beeing nice, and then he did the same to me. All I did was pay on time. WTF?!? I wont buy SHT from him again. F that guy!!

thanks but I didnt. I had an open lid so I stuffed the air box with rags to choke the air a bit more. it runs fine without rags now . when I did it a few times It was a clean towel with oil in it like a filter. I dont want lint and dirt in my motor, trust me. the petcock i had was screwed up so the gas was just drizzling into the lines a little bit at a time and the when it would start it would empty the hose n stop. I pulled the lines of the carbs and they where just dripping. When I got a new one, it started up and ran great. Starts first kick every time now.

it was 270 main jet for toomey exaust, but I changed it to the stock 200 with 3rd clip setting on the needle and 2 turns out on the air screw. I have stock pipes for a few more months.

just got my bike running , but it smokes kinda heavy. I got castrol 2 stroke oil and mixed it 24:1 because thats what yamaha said to use, but I read alot of people use a 30-40:1 mix. Should I use more gas? Everything is stock still for now with air box lid off.

I bought some carbs off ebay that where jetted for tommey t5`s which I plan on getting in another few months, but when I put them on the motor it ran for a bit then got worse and worse till the plugs where black I still have stock exaust and airbox with screen lid, so I opened up some spare stock carbs I had laying around and took out the 270`s and needles and put the 200`s and needles in with 2 turns out on the mix screw. It wouldnt start. So I took the filter off after trying some other crap and stuffed tight some rags in there so it couldnt hardly breath and it started up but wouldnt keep running. Just like hell for 5 sec or so then shuts off. I pulled the rag out part way when it fired up but not much. When I put the filter back on, got nothing. When it ran it would rev great and idle but no more than 10 seconds then shut off no matter the throttle position. The needle clip is at 3rd position. My exaust doesnt have clamps on yet, could that be it, like a back preasure problem? I wouldnt think so ...... I have no idea. Oh, one of the spare carbs had been stripped on the tors cap, that why I didnt just use them, and I have a twist tors elim kit. So I used the jetted ones. My gas was mixed like 24:1 I live at about 15-20` above sea level in average 80`s humid weather. Any Ideas?
