  1. I'm ready to put my bike back together. When I bought it it had only FMF Fattys on it and 260 main jets. It ran great. I have since added, a K&N filter, removed the inside snorkel but left the top on, 13 tooth front sprocket , two stage reed petals and pro light pistons. (stock bore) I ordered an assortment of jets and I'm ready to put my carbs back together. I'm at sea level (Massachusetts) and usually between 65 to 85 degrees. What jet should I start with? Am I correct that I should leave the needle in the middle clip, since I don't have a ton of mods? I want to stay on the safe side also. I don't want to be to lean. Thanks in advance for any info.
  2. I like how at the bottom it says, " notice how multiple racers stop to help him", looks like it was one guy! All the other dudes were either going around him, or just kind of piled up behind him! :yelrotflmao: " UGHHH, huh, Ughhh. What happened?" That must have sucked. "this is how we roll" ......roll right past your ass, after you dump it!
  3. Thanks guys, for all the replies. All your tips are greatly appreciated. I'm feeling pretty confident I can get this done. If anyone else has any advice, keep it coming!
  4. Any more tips out there?
  5. I have ALL new gaskets and plenty of good oil. My father in law works at Ratheon, so I have the calibrated torque wrench. Also, when I took the head off, there wasn't much gasket sealer but it was running fine. How much should I put? Should I put any LIGHT lock tite on anything?
  6. Didn't make that yet. Looks like I have a good project for tomorrow night.
  7. Plenty of CLEAN rags in there already. DAMN your fast with the reply!
  8. I'm finally ready to do my first top end. I've always done all my repairs myself, except top and bottom end work, so I am mechanically inclined, to an extent. I've done alot of research and read the Clymers over and over again. I've also learned ALOT on this site. I took my top end apart and brought the cylinders and head to a very reputable machine shop and everything looks great. My new piston and gasket set is on it's way. I have about five days to gather any last minute tips. I've also been practicing on the pistons and rings I removed, as they were in great shape. This seems really easy but I'm getting a little nervous. If anybody has any tips other than what the Clymers states, that will make the job easier, please chime in. When you put the clips on, do you put the opening on the opposite side of the little plier holes? Should I use a flat screwdriver to push them ? I know this is kind of a long winded post but you can never have to much info. Thanks in advance. P.S. I know about the open containers of liquid and the clips flying into them!
  9. I bought a new thumb throttle to replace the twist that came on my bike. The TORS on my bike is removed. I assume all I have to do is tape that wire up and not use it. Am I correct? I'm in the middle of a new top end, so I can't try starting it to figure it out, otherwise I wouldn't be asking. I'd just like to know in advance. Thanks guys.
  10. I have a like new set of Renthal bars, black and silver pad. ( I believe them to be CR or RM 80 bend ) They are the silver color and 3/4''. It will ONLY fit a twist throttle! It also has the twist throttle on it with the cable for the TORS removed. It has like new black Scott Works grips in black. If anyone is interested let me know. I do not have my camera at the moment but I will have it very soon.(or I can go to my friends to send a picture) Anyway, if interested, let me know. I'm posting it here before E Bay, since it's for a Banshee. Again, it's in great shape. $75 WILL FIT TWIST THROTTLE ONLY!!!
  11. Thanks, appreciate the info.
  12. WOW! That looks like a nice R for $1800. I'd grab that if I lived near there. Why did I ever sell mine?? :: :: ::
  13. I bought my bike with the tors removed. It had a twist throttle on it. I bought a thumb throttle for it with no cable. Can you buy just the cable, or do you have to buy a whole kit? Any suggestions on where to get one? Thanks in advance.
