its a lt50...and it has that Ctracing mod, i put it all together and a new piston and rings. ctracing link they recommended 110 octane gas. I did the break in period they recommended and rode it for 30 min and it died...when i started it back up it has that noise.

would it still fire up and run fine?

When i pull the choke to start it, it starts on first kick but i have to kill the choke in about 5 sec cause the idle go so high. When i kill the choke it idles fine. But when i run out the rpm's between gears, it falls on its face right before the top of powerband.

has anyone ever heard of that before? It starts up and runs, but it just sounds like a tinging sound

Whats the max temp for a air cooled 2-stroke? I testing the temp of the cylinder and head. im getting a reading of 400 degrees. Do you think thats too hot? Now thats a outside temp reading off a point and shoot temp gun.

I just went and tried a 85 jet and a 90 jet and runs the same...at WOT it stutters and if you back off the throttle a little it comes out of it and will start picking up rpm's.

Not for sure if i should go up or down a main. This is a lt50 with a port job and Ct racing kit. running on 110 octane fuel mixed 40:1

I did a plug chop and im confused on what to look at. The top half is brown all the way around and the bottom is white with a vary faint thin brown line around the very base where the threads start.

Do you think people will still be racing Banshees in 10 years?

A guy i work with bought a 400ex that dont have a title or serial #'s. And he rides it everywhere...lol He said he isnt worried about cause it sont have numbers to run back that its hot..lol kinda dumb if you ask me. But it still seems like he could get in some kind of trouble for having it.

I put a 2 into 1 carb set up on my shee, and all i did was unplug that box...with it plugged in it wouldnt idle till i unpluged it. So i need to remove the whole system completly?

There is a plug on your clutch/Ebrake lever, follow the wires behind the radiator and un plug them and start it and youll be fine. Just try the clutch wires tonight, i know thats what it is.

What are the symptoms of a blown crankseal? hard to start? oil leak? lol

Well i power wased it and got all the oil off. I got it started after cranking for ever. I rode it around for a good 30min. And all that oil is there agian. A lot of it, im talking covered the head and down in where that fan is oil just laying in there. The carb isnt leaking fuel at all. I was thinking a carb thing but now i dont know, I did noticed the head bolts where not tightened to spec on torque(loose). So could i have a bad head gasket? I did tighten them down and its still hard to start and still tries to die at an idle.

I have been working on this quad for a buddy. When he brought it over it didnt run. Well removed the carb and cleaned well...then changed the o-rings and changed the spark plug. After all that i put it back together and hit the starter. It started up after cranking a while and ran for about 5 min. and then bogged and died. And wouldnt restart.I cranked for a while and it kinda speeds up like it gonna start but just wont. I let it set for awhile and bam it started agian..and then the same thing, after about 5 min. of running it just boggs and dies. I did a compression check and got 125, so im ok there. But i did notice a lot of oil on top of head. I cleaned it off and when i ran it till it died i noticed that all that oil was back. Could i have a blown head gasket?

my stockers have 260's and the new carb has a 158 in it. I havent done a plug chop yet, but it seems to work good with set up so far.
