thats what i done. thats about all you can do besides taking it all the way apart.

i knew the same thing. been runing both (at different times of course) on my mustang. why did 2 people say a wet shot was harder on a banshee? i have never run it on a 2 stoke and was wondering if someone could explain it.
-
whats the difference in a wet shot and dry shot? why is a dry shot harder on your motor than a wet shot? just wondering.

pistons instead of porting?

i was going to stay out of this, but ohwell, here i go! everyone on here is going to have a different appinion. i have seen just about every kind of piston fail at some point{ with my own eyes} . there are some people that says vitos sell junk, but let me ask you something. how many stock cranks have you seen fail? but people still buy banshees, and race the shit out of them? right? the point im trying to make is all of us dont have the same money. we can only get what we can afford, and we should NEVER go on here say! -
how bad is the bore out? just wondering?
-
i would try to stay away from oem pistons. they are cast and do not hold up very well under most conditions 2 strokes indure. wiseco is a good piston.

unhook the tors.come to think of it. mine did the same thing and thats what it was.

always flood when starte cold?
BANSHEEMANIAC replied to YAMAGOOSE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
if you dont have a compresion gauge, take and pour a little premix gas into each cylinder spark plug hole, the kick it to see if it cranks. if it does, cheak your carb, they are more than likely dirty or you jetting is off. -
cheak the compression on both cylinders first.
-
here ya go! --- {question} why do temperture changes affect my jetting?} the answer is, as air gets colder, the molecules become closer together in a given volume(HIGHER DENSITY); COLD AIR contains more oxygen than the same volume of warm air. more oxygen in a volume of air means than the same jet sizes will not deliver enough fuel to burn the oxygen that you are getting in the cold weather, in turn you run lean. ..........and this is to sheefreak. {why do premix ratio changes effect my jetting} just like temperature and elevation changes, altering the amount of fuel delivered by the carbs in a given volume of air will result in a rich or lean condition. by changing how much oil is in the premix, you also change how much fuel is available to burn. since the oil in the premix is intended to lube the crank, it is burned off in the combustion precess, however the oil thats in the oil/fuel mixture displaces the amount of fuel that is available for the air to burn; more oil means less fuel and less oil means more fuel, from an air/fuel ratio standpoint. example... you change your premix ratio from 32:1 to 100:1, every gallon of fuel will contain less oil, so more fuel; from a air/fuel ratio standpoint there is more fuel to be burned so your jetting will be to rich and you will need to jet leaner. in contrast, going from 40:1 to 20:1 means that for every gallon of fuel will contain more oil, so less fuel; the air/fuel ratio will be to lean and you need to jet richer. basically a higher ratio will require leaner jetting and a lower ratio will require richer jetting. sheefreak is right on this.

LOL   :woot: i about fell out of my chair!

check you compression on that thing. if you have fire, gas, and compression, a 2 stroke will run! now if you had a 4 pokeher, you need 4 things to make it run. that is fire, ALCOHOL , compression, and alot of luck, and when that fails, just set it ON FIRE!
-
i still think you are just thinking wrong. colder air makes you run leaner. this is why when you run nitrous oxide you have to put more fuel in the motor. nitrous oxide is non flammable. all it does is freze the gas and air. think about it.

is the bike stock? if not what modifications? sound like you are to small on your pilots. -
im not sure but i think you are bass ackards on that? you run LEANER in colder weather.
-
yea, i didnt wont to start and argument, but he's right, it sucks. if you want something cheap, just go to a autoparts store and do what i said above. i know it works. i have been doing it for years. it is the same thing as what you buy in the bike shop, just cheaper.

hey, i live in upstate s.c. to. i have pretty much the same setup with 290 mains, 27 pilots, and needle in 3 slot. the only thing is those 20cc domes you want to run. that may push you pretty close to a race mix. thats something you will just have to play with. you sould be alble to run them with no problem.

motor dies, no power, bogging - help

if the carbs are leaking out the overflow, the seat is not sealing. tap on the carb with the handle of a scwewdriver to see if it helps. if it dont, take them off and clean them. if the float height is off, that will cause it to run rich. -
is the choke tube on it correctly? also see what you pilots are, and where the needle clip is.
-
the float needle seat is not stationary, it moves up and down with the float, to cut the fuel on and off. you are right about checking the float height your way though. but to see if the needle seat is working correctly, use my method. im not trying to step on you at all. you have one bad banshee!
-
yea, thats the easy way to cheack you float, but you dont run you carbs on you banshee upside down do you? if you turn it upside down, the float weight will push the needle seat down. the other way, you can tell exacly when your needle seat is working correctly.
-
sounds like your airscwews are adjusted on the rich side.
-
hey, sounds like your float height is off, or you float needle seat is sticking shut. by you shaking the bike back and forth and it running fine after that makes me think that.
-
i dont know about wall insulation??!! you can use fiberglass mat. you can get it from any auto parts store. ITS the same as bike packing, just alot cheaper.
