  1. I'm shopping around for some billet intakes, think I'm going to get the VITO'S BULLS EYE INTAKES. What do you guys think about them? My clutch lever is hitting the left carb bowl, It looks like it was welded, I bought them used but it doesn't clear. Am I better off getting the bowl welded, more flush or going with some spacers. Need some suggestions :thumbsup: Vito's also sells the fuel/vent lines, do you guys know what size these carbs use, 1/8", 3/16", or 1/4"?

  5. Warm up the bike to heat the pipes and '000' steel wool works great. Doesn't scratch the chrome :thumbsup:
  6. Hey guys, Got a big ass can of Uni foam filter oil. Can I use it on my K&N filters, or should I but the K&N oil for them? Just figure I could use it since it's just sitting there.
  7. Hey WESV & KEVSWS6, thanks for the help guys:biggrin: . Any suggestions where to find some cheap intakes? I ran them today and noticed the clutch arm is hitting the bottom bowl of the carb. I see it has been welded so wondering if hitting cuz of the stock intakes. It was pretty hard to get them in so I see where they will crack, especially taking them in & out to jet. I can't get it to idle, set the needles (CEL) at the 4th clip from point end. 52 pilots, 148 mains. I can start it cold without the chokes, so I know I'm rich on pilots. How many sizes down do you guys suggest for the pilot. My mids were kind of sputtery, I think cuz of my pilot being so rich. The mid to high felt very strong, didn't do a plug chop cuz I want to get my pilot and needle set correct first. When I adjusted the idle I didn't notice a difference, How many turns out can I go on them. Is turning them out raise the idle or lower it?

    34mm Intakes

    Looking for some intakes for 34PJ's, not really interested in billet ones unless the price was right. Just bought the carbs and trying to keep cost down.
  9. I got the carbs with CEL needles. I cleaned them out and set the needles at the 4th clip. 52 pilots, 148 mains, 1.5 turns out. I will be installing them tomorrow and doing a plug chop. What do you guys think about running the PJ's with stock intakes? Trying to save some cash. I see how the idle adjust is very diff from the stock carbs. What is a good starting point for the idle (turns out)?
  10. Is there a visual way to check the gearing other than opening up the diff. I remember someone a while back telling that if you turn the wheel on revolution, watch the drive shaft to see how many turns which will equal the gear ration. Is this true?
  11. He did tell me that the gearing was done on it to sompenstate for the larger tires. How can I find out if the tranny was rebuilt or when other than him telling me? If the tranny was rebuilt is that a good thing or not? My 94 Suburban only has 6K lbs. tow capacity
  12. I'm shopping for a diesel Excursion. I'm gonna look at one on Saturday. I know they don't make the excursion any more but I need a Suv for the family, and diesel because I want to buy a Toy hauler. I drive a 94 suburban at the moment and its towing capacity sucks! A lot of people say that a diesel engines don't start to break in until 100k miles. That is how many miles this one has. He is asking $23k. The reason why I really like it because it's hooked up: lift, 38" muds, sounds, chip, air lockers, air bags, trailer brakes, DVD, TVs, PS2, motorized nerfs, K&N, 5" exhaust system, and more. What do you guys think? Need some opinions. Is 100K miles too much? Anyone own an Excursion, F250 with the 7.3L diesel engine, how do you like it?
  13. I don't think you understand how HOT it gets over here at the dunes! But I would say throw the dirt tires on and find other spots to ride, when it gets really hot I go early in the morning b4 it heats up.
  14. Thanks wesw, How can I determine what kind of needles they are? Are they marked? What is the increment amount for mains and pilots on these carbs? Example, stockers are 2.5 pilot, 10 for mains.
  15. Got some 34 pj's on the way. I don't know where to start on jets. I got to learn jetting on stockers pretty good, but not a thing about PJ's. I'm doing homework and looking to find someone with a similiar setup but no luck yet. PJ's will also have K&N pods. Mods are in sig and I was running 330-mains, needle was on last clip (closest to blunt end), 32.5 pilot. Thanks

  19. This kind of sucks, another issue I have is that the stinger is leaking through the weld of the part that connects to the silencer. Then the left pipe hitting the head, which I had to use like a dozen washers. Now this leaking at the cylinders, WTF :shoothead: . Also chrome is statring to chip ::

  21. Thanks, I'll be picking up some new o-rings from Shearer next week. Does anyone suggest a different oil mixture than 40:1. I feel like trying 50:1, what do you guys think?
  22. I'm not 100% sure but I think I did, I purchased them new and I remember they came with orings for the stingers. They're only 3 months old.
  23. I know it's not tranny oil because my oil on the dip stick is still light brown. The oil that is leaking is very dark. I think it is leaking from the exhaust, wondering if the shearers aren't in properly. I'm mixing at 40:1 (927), it leaks out of the silencers a bit onto my 6 pack rack. Is it known for the shearers to leak from the cylinders? Took it on a 30-35 mile ride yesterday and it still runs hard. Here are some picks. Need some help
