  1. Is that the santana river bottom. I thought it was illegal to ride in riverside county. My buddy got a ticket there. I ride my bike in Corona, near El Cerrito. My pops lives there and he opens the back gate and I ride, small area though. Come up to the Hi Desert. When it cools off I'll take you for a 40 mile loop that includes a Bar & grill pit stop :beer:
  2. Yeah, blew a head gasket. I don't even want to open that shit up hoping something bad or expensive didn't happen. Talked to David at Noss today. Gonna buy the head next week. Had lots of :beer: to keep me cool. Halloween weekend we reclaim Banshee Hill Steve, unless you'll be smoking us with the 'R'.
  3. Drags were pretty cool, bikes were running up the hill till like 2:00am. Weather was HOT! I was able to run for about 3-4 hours on and off, till it started to run like shit. I was also running very rich. SoCal's cubby wasn't running right so didn't run it. SoCal's friend's banshee also took a shit(clutch). But it's just nice to get to some sand till the season kicks. It's pretty f*cked up to say that Banshee hill was mostly being ran by 4pokes. :: Halloween weekend we need some more banshees out there. I believe Socalnit mentioned Halloween weekend. I'm definately there with my shee running stronger this time :woot: . Think I might go with some 19cc domes, haven't decided yet.
  4. When out to Dumont for some night drags. Met up SoCalnit and his buddies. 3 out of 4 Banshees didn't run good. Mine blew a head gasket. I think I'm gonna go with the Noss head. In the morning I put like 3 bottles of water in my radiator, that's how low it ran. The clear coat on my jugs turned brown from so hot it ran. My plugs are wet with water. I drained the coolant and its black. Any suggestions on what to look out for when I tear into it? Possibilities of any damage?
  5. Just want to thank and update you guys that helped me out. Put the needle on the 3rd, then 4rd clip. 4th is running a lot better. Getting ready to wash it and put the paddles on for Dumont night ride tomorrow. for wesw for his knowledge on the PJ's and Jim's motors. I'll post pics of the Dumont trip early next week. :cool:

  7. I think Shearer would build anything custom. That's what Matt does. I seen a bike thathe made pipes for a Rotax engine, sick and fast bike. Ran like 4.10's on 300 ft drags.

  9. What kind of oil is it? I had mine leaking from the exhaust flange. I ended up using some hi-temp silicone and took care of it :thumbsup:
  10. I'm running a regular dune port. I think I blew my top end last time because I was too lean. That was with 148's. With the 165's my plugs showed a 2.5mm band. I will be trying the 3rd then 4th clip. I will let you guys know.
  11. I am running CEL's. Do the CEL's like to run in the lean position on how I mentioned earlier?
  12. I am did a plug chop and and got a 2.5mm band on the plugs. Settings were 2nd needle clip, 48 pilots, 165 mains. 32:1 mix. I have my mid throttle sputtering and hesitating to get into the highs. When it hits the top it runs nice and hard. I don't have to choke it to turn it on. Should I go to the leanest position on the needle or does that not sound right? With my mains a bit rich do you think it's ok since I'm a 3k elevation and going down to Dumont this weekend where its sea level?

  14. I am running the PIAA lights that RS sells with 35 watt bulbs and stock stator. One bulb burnt out and I found a 55 watt replacement at Pep Boys. Going to Dumont for Drags this Saturday night, so kind of short on time in ordering one. What will happen if I run a 55 & 35. I don't mind some dimness on one side as long as it's nothing major. Just would rather run 2 lights than one.

  17. Just found a bolt identical, I'm gonna use it. My local steallership licks balls on having Yamaha parts in stock. Nearest decent dealer is 55 miles. Any tips on how to tighten the bolts without breaking them?
  18. Any suggestions how tight on the springs then? Can I replace it with any type of bole?
  19. Just snapped a clutch bolt. Was able to get it out. Why did it break, I set the torque wrench to 7.4 foot pounds. I am not to sure on putting my clutch system back together. :shoothead: . I took it apart like 2 months ago when I blew my crank, and just putting everything back together today. I don't know how the push rod goes against the ball. Where does that phillips set screw need to be at. Ane do I tighten the nut on top of that or the springs first. Any help is greatly appreciated at this moment. Does it make a difference if I use another style bolt to replace the one I broke or does it need to be exactly the same?
