  1. Shift Forks!, but check the simple stuff that was already said.
  2. I was chilling, just having some cheap enterainment provided by you.
  3. So, move the darn post and be done with it.
  4. I didn't stutter and my roll is plenty fast. Don't play stupid about Jeff, you know who he is. No problem, get off your high horse Queeny.
  5. Good for you, get over it! It's the truth whether you like it or not.
  6. Stick with what Tedder has told you. He has been there and done the testing between the slicks and the American Racers. I've done the testing between the American Racers & the Hoosiers, both in there softest compound. They are both good tires and I have both, but I still lean toward the American Racers. Bryan
  7. I forgot to add you need to have small 12v battery for the shift kill/counter to work.
  8. The shift kill is seperate and it's a dyna shift counter/shift kill. We use a 1997 & later dyna progammable ignition and it has a shift light wire/function and we use it. I'm not a big fan of Dyna's customer service and I don't indorse their product. I had to hook up a relay to make the shift counter/shift kill work. Their Engineers couldn't figure out how to wire it correctly. Thanks to a buddy and some back yard engineering we got it to work.
  9. We initially used the ignition kill in conjuction with the air shifter. We could only get the air shifter to work around 97 percent of the time. The 3 percent it didn't work, seemed like it always cost us a round win. We took off the air shifter and do it manually now. For the 5 & 6 shift we hit a button and the shift lever at the same time. The button is wired into the Dyna shifter counter/ignition kill. As for secrets, I will point you in the right direction. The same as many people did with me over 30 plus years. We have made about 600 runs on our quad in the past 4 years, but most of the know how came from drag racing cars over the many years. Bryan
  10. We use a ignition kill for 5 & 6. It allows for clutchless full throttle shifts.
  11. Nice try! Now based on your previous info in this post. I keyed on lugging in 6th gear and your 17/39 (2.29 ratio) sprockets. You would be going the wrong way with 2-1 ratio. The key is to have your peak RPM higher at the end of the 1/4 than your peak HP RPM. How much over and how you determine that is up to you. Hint, your MPH will tell you if you are going in the right direction with your gear changes. The lugging you describe could also be that your main jets or power jets are not correct. Bryan
  12. We effectively used any where from a 2.05 - 2.24 ratio and have found one good all around ratio that works on different combos.
  13. IMO the gearing is not right for the 1/4 mile if you only using 5th thru the 1/4. Now for the 1/8 mile it's a little different.
  14. You will be surprised on how to gear a quad for the 1/4 mile. There are very few people that run the 1/4 with a quad. Our quad is in 6th gear before the 1/8 and you wouldn't believe how many feet before. I don't need to BS, our times and MPH speak for themselves.
  15. I forgot to say our rollout on our tires is 73"s and it's measured around the circumference of the tire.
  16. I'm new to the sand and the two times I've made it out; 1st to Glamis and 2nd time to Dumont. The 1st time out I ran 14 paddle 22x11x8 haulers that were borrowed from a friend. The 2nd time out I bought a set of 12 paddle 22x11x8 extremes. I think I like the haulers the best. Our quad is normally on asphalt, but we are having some fun on the sand. You can find our sand videos in the drag forum under asphalt quad @ Glamis and asphalt to sand II (Dumont). Our quads best ET in the 1/4 is 10.23 @ 123mph. We run a 443cc Cub on gas, stock frame, +8 swingarm and I weigh 215 lbs.
  17. Yes, we ran alky for 4 years and switch back to gas this year. No regrets, it's plenty fast in either configuration.
  18. Thanks, 7mm cub on cheap race gas. It will be at Olds on the Feb 14th, maybe even the day before.
  19. According to the Mikuni main jet pocket tuner you will need around a 157 jet just for the elevation change. I didn't take into account the temp or humidity. I think you have to stagger jet your carbs, right? The 157 would be for the high side and 2 numbers down would be your low side.
  20. I'll be there and will be staying around wash 2. I can't dune, but I'll be dragging at Olds.
  21. According to ISDRA Sand Dune Guide, Glamis elevation ranges from 200' - 500'. When we were there on Jan. 03, 2009 the density altitude ranged from 200' @ 7:00am - around 1500' at the worst during the day. We use density altitude for all our tuning and it takes into account: temp, relative humidity and barometric pressure. You will also have to richen your air screws, pilot jets, needle position and of course your main jets. What type of carbs or jets are you using; the hex head jets or the round style?
  22. No, just taking a needed break from the asphalt quad stuff!!! Our drag cars is what wins the big $$$s to allow us to have our expensive hobbies. We picked up some new sponsorship for this year and my son landed a sponsored new ride.
  23. NYUK, You wanted more video here it's I hope. Trying something new to me using photobucket. 1st one is my son @ Comp Hill, next 2 are me @ Comp and the last is me @ Banshee Hill.
