  2. I just wanted to post that i did a frame in bedliner and it turned out great. Just do it in a well venilated area, whew. I used something called DURABAKE($45) and its smooth finish and its grippy. I got it in red and mixed in some red mettalic flake and it looks awesome.

    i have 22's now but i would like to run a little higher compression. I dont want to spend a lot though, just looking for something someone just has laying around and doesnt want much for.
  5. I think i fixed it. I had it started yesterday after the 30 kicks so i let it sit overnight. And today i went over every nut and bolt and tighted all on the motor. Some of them were not as tight as they should have been so now they are all good and tight. So i go to start it and second kick it starts. So i dont know if there was a leak somewhere from not being tight enough or if its just that i started it yesterday and it didnt feel like pissing me off today so im gonna let it sit for a few days and if it starts after sitting, i will know what it was. thanks guys
  6. I will let you know once i finish. The yfz rear shock is about 3 inches longer. But im going to use a lowering link to see if it will sit a proper ride heights. I just need some aluminum to mod the lower shock mount.
  7. that sounds like a project. so i just need to somehow seal off the intake and exhaust and get six psi into the motor. Could i use a compression tester to check the six psi? i was out draining the old gas and filling with new gas mixed 40:1 with amsoil interceptor. It still took 30 kicks to get it started, full choke and 1 spin out on the air screw(remember, 30 pilots). But once its hot, it starts like nothing to it and idles perfect. ANY MORE SUGGESTIONS ANYONE BEFORE I PULL THE THING APART TO DO THE LEAKDOWN TEST????
  8. What do i need to do for the leakdown test????????????????????????????????? The motor was running until a manifold cracked and sucked in sand.
  9. Back 8 spaces in a M. And i have a spare banshee front spindles, calipers, and yfz450 master to do the brake upgrade. Well as soon as i get news on if he'll take the 175, i will start fixing. IF HE DOESNT TAKE THE 175$, WHAT WOULD BE THE MOST TO PAY FOR IT?

  11. I have a blaster i am looking to buy. I got it from one of the shops i deliver to, its a friend of his. And its been in his big ass garage for 4 years sitting. I brought it home, and it has no compression, so i took it apart. The piston is totally shot. The rings are smashed in and there was a lot of metal transfer. I think the oil injection failed and the air filter was torn. So it needs a crank and bearings too. Along with various little parts. He doesnt want to give it to me for free. So i offered him 175 with a title and am waiting for an answer. Is that a good deal? ANd to the main question, i dont know what year it is. It has white plastic, pink shocks, and a teal colored seat. I have the engine and vin #, what way is there to tell what year it is?
  12. I was meticulous when i rebuilt the motor, has all new seals, i have the jugs nice and tight. It could be possible but probably not. And the last time i had the carbs off, i put my hand over both manifolds while kicking it and it sucked real good.
  13. I have sealed everything, the manifolds are new, i have really good clamps on the carbs, i even rubbed sealant on all the surfaces where it might leak. Because an air leak would only be between the jug and reed, reed and manifold, manifold and carb, and around the boost bottle. I have ever so closely inspected it. thats why this starting problem is pissing me off. Hopefully tommorow i can drain the old gas and put the new gas in. Also, for some reason, with the stock pilots the thing wont even start. But with the 30's it will, just takes 30 kicks.
  14. It wont even start with the stock pilots. And there is no air leak, i am 100% sure. Also, i have clear fuel lines so i know for a fact, they fill up fine.
  15. mines a 99 too, i will try that right after i put some fresh race gas in it. I think the crap mobile pump fuel may be bad.

I built this from the ground up and the carbs i bought needed jetting for the modifications i had, so i got some moose rebuild kits and larger mains and pilots. .20 over wisecos, stock head, bills pipes, boost bottle, proflow adapter w/K&N filter lid off. I am at 290 mains, 30 pilots, stock air jets, stock needles, middle clip. Maybe my jetting is a little off but it should start fast
  17. I have new plugs in it, even tried hotter plugs. The choke tube is new and connected. The choke doesnt make a difference when trying to get it to start. I have had the pilots out and could see through each hole.
  18. stock timing plate is on there, i have another thats going on another banshee but i dont feel like pulling the flywheel. The timing key is the stock one but i can get it to start so i dont think it would be sheared. I just sold my 34's and i havent been able to find some 28's yet. All my friends ride 4 pokes so no. I dont want to sink any more into this banshee becasue i am going to be selling it. Just need to get it to start within a few kicks so i can sell it. I have had the carbs off 10 times to re-clean and check over when i jetted it. It just like to act up.
  19. 120 lbs each cylinder cold, no tors, dont know what the pickup gap is(just reinstalled it when it was rebuilt). the choke tube is brand new and on, the slides are in correctly, bowls are on correct ones. Stock head. Plenty of gas and its on, i have clear lines so i know its got gas. The key assembly is removed and the switch is on. Elevation is 800 ft. and it has new mains and pilots,
  20. I have tried tons of crap. stock Carbs are synced, rebuilt, cleaned, jetted, i just put new oring on choke, plugs new, i even tried a hotter plug. It just wont start fast. it takes 30 kicks to get it started, but once its running, its perfect. The engine is fresh. lots of compression, spark isnt as strong as i would like but its there. i have swapped coils. The only other thing i am going to do is get some race gas. when i first rebuilt it, started first kick with my race gas. thats the only thing i can think of. any help please.....

    I just sold my 34 pjs and just ordered new intakes for 28's so i need some clean 28 pwks. Or two stock carbs off a yz85, since they are the same. I only pay paypal and have perfect feedback on ebay.

  23. try getting a used yfz450 master. that cures the banshee bleeding problem
  24. yeah, the cables not the best. The carbs are near perfect except the one choke seems stiffer than the other. Does he have some pics and are the flat or d slides?
