I'm pretty sure out of head is return to rad (hottest readings?) here is mine I just cut hose & put T in line right side view top to rad left to head rt to gauge gave me the best angles w/o kinks

also I rotated mine so that it hits the cover(fwd) so it doesn't get loose (rattle) from new & put a piece of hose on the part that would be hitting the case (so it doesnt ware it when returning to up position.) actualy previous owner did it w/o hose & it scarred (sp) the case but I hosed it & it seems all good now? might want to do that after you replace gutts?
