So you are pretty much where you need to be then... Crossing in the top of 5th. Might try addin a tooth or two to the rear, might help launches a little more- and shouldnt affect the top end too much.

ok and what gear were you crossing (finish line) in? cant leave in second? it hook and bog?

Have you ran the bike before? How does the 14/41 work for you? Try to set the bike up to leave in second, first gear is kind of short and pointless, plus I would rather not have to shift thru neutral if at all possible.

OK and cross in what gear?? Have you thought about goin to struts to replace the shocks? What kind of traction are you getting? Does the front end lift on launching?

There is alot more to it than just mods. It is more about, weight of rider, chassis set-up, tire size, track conditions, and then mods. Those bits of information would be helpful, as well as what gear you launch in, and what gear you cross in- plus roughly where it is in the power range. You want it just about topped out in that gear (I use fifth).

The gasket is made to seal properly with out any adhesives. If it is decked straight, and your cyls are straight, just bolt it down properly, in the right order and it should be fine. If you continue to blow them, its a problem with the torque sequence or the head/cylinders.

The chroming process is much much different than the powder coating process. The two are nothing alike, other than they are both fine coatings, and can be very durable if done properly.

You'll get more replies in the drag section. A few suggestions. Timing, Reeds, Pipes (higher revs), little more compression. And maybe some more tuning- not to say it isnt right, but there might be some un tapped power in there somewhere.

Rudy was the originator of the override if I remember correct...I think K&T send trannies to Rudy when they get backed up- not 100% sure. I use a 2-5, in my bike, that I picked up from Brooks Chassis (he has them done). I have clutched it, let off, done just about everything you are not supposed to do with them, and had NO problems with it.

When I was porting my motor it came down to two builders really, K&T and Passion. At the time Passion was still growing from a small company to what they are now- I chose Passion over K&T for several reasons. Jim at PRE talked to me about my motor, set-up, chassis, track, tuning capabilities, etc etc. He wanted to know it all before he started grinding away at my cyls- I found that much more comforting than someone saying "send me your cyls and x amount of money and i'll send em back ported." I personally think its important for builder/buyer communications- everyone knows what is goin on with the motor. Drag motors arent cheap, just remember you get what u pay for, but u can pay to much for to little.

I use sprint, something ,like 2000 minutes a month. When I set it all up it was the plan with the most minutes availible, and I use every one of them plus some. Like phil said, for 30 a month its more like an emergency phone- only use it when U REALLY NEED IT! Kind of like my g-ma's phone, I think hers it 35 a month, and it sits in her glove box- only used for emergency's and flat tires.

My brother rides a ZX-11, errr did till he munched a rod. Being rebuilt soon, and I am currently looking for one....soon as I sell or trade off the banshee *hint*hint*if anyone has one to trade

Thats pretty vlose to where it should be, there are always factors that will make it faster/slower. Running sand? dirt??? Tires? on shocks? With these bits of info, we could possibly get it a little bit quicker.
