  2. Hey everyone. Just picked up a nice 33mm PWK set-up from a member on this board. Just need some input on what jetting I should start with. They already have the more desirable CEL needles and I set them in the middle grove. Not sure what mains I will need, but I was going to get all between 150-160 and a few pilots. My mods are below and I ride at about 500-800ft. My stock carbs are dead on and the bike screams. I forgot what jets I have in there. Would that help? I think they were 330main and 27.5 pilots??? I think I might end up with a 150-158 main and 48-52 pilot?? NEW PWK 33mm, Boss intake w/internal crossover, K&N clamp on filters Stock spec bottom end, but fresh w/good parts VF3 reeds Trinity stage 3, dune and trail port, 64.5 pistons Trinity IV head with 20cc domes Timing at +4 T5's pipes Stock cross over tube, no boost bottle NGK BR8ES gapped at 33 Run 93 octane gas all the time
  3. Just checking if anyone knows if main & pilot jets from a PJ34mm will work on a 33mm PWK carb? Sorry, I don't have both in front of me and looking for someone to ship me some jets. Thanks
  4. Just got a set of 33mm PWK's and looking for jets for initial tuning. Genuine Keihin jets ONLY please. Just seeing if anyone has a bunch they are not going to use. I have plenty for my stock carbs, but they won't work. Also, I like to have a bunch of different size jets on hand for the carbs I'm running and buying them individually can be expensive and a hassle running to/from the store.   13. One more question. If I get my stockers bored out to 28mm, will they perform just as good as the 28mm pwk's and make same power? Or is the PWK just a better overall carb and stock will not make same power? I know the use and tuning on PWK is better.
  14. Thanks for all the input everyone. I use to ride 50/50 trails and sand, now mostly sand. I would still like to retain the lower rpm power and broad power range. Seems like 28 or 33 would be a good choice for me. Also, I have access to various machinists and might bore the stockers out to 28mm, or 27.?? whatever it is. How are the Keihn OKO knock-offs? 30's would be perfect. Thanks
  15. I've been riding the bike with the new top end set-up for the last few months and it runs awesome. Both on dunes and tails. I've very surprized, so are others, how well the bike runs with the simple mods. 700's, 450r's and ltr450's with bolt-on's don't stand a chance anywhere, especially on top??? Planning on getting it dynoed as it sits in the next few weeks. Any guesses? My friend has a nice LTR450 with a big bore, pipe and ported head and I can beat him. I just dynoed about 55hp. I got the jetting perfect with the stock carbs. Looking to get a bit more out of it over the winter. People are telling me that the stock carbs are hurting me. Looking for a set of good all around carbs, PWK's? Would 39mm be too big? Maye 33mm or 35mm? I'm not sure if they can be too big because it depends on the jetting and I don't want to upgrade again if I decide to go with a bigger motor. Let me know what you think and any other mods you recommend. I was also thinking small bore CPI's?? . T5's might be a better all around pipe?? Mods below.   22. Got an update. I went down to 330's and that resolved the top end issue. Pulls stronger and longer and through the entire grear now. Might try the 27.5 pilot? It idles great, but how do I know if it's idling rich? The way I understand it, the pilot is for ideling and lower throttle response. Mid throttle is handled by a combo of the air screw and top throttle by the main jet and needle?? Bike rips now either way. Thanks.

  24. Wow, no replies? I'm sure I got the right forum Got an updated and I have been working with Joe from Trinity. The guy is awesome. I got it running and broken in through a few heat cycles. Started getting on it and it runs awesome. Like Joe said with this port, the power hits suddenly and it goes, not gradually, and is kind of either on and off. Can't wait to get it on some sand. However, it does not pull all the way to the top like before. Right, right at the end of the gear, it stops pulling. I think it is rich because it kind of bogs. Not lean, because it does not keep reving up top, or revving high & fast with no power.. Would I go down a main jet size or drop the needle? My set up: 340 main 30 pilot 3rd clip, middle, down from top, stock needles Let me know what you guys think. Thanks
