  1. Where do you want the power to be? I would say that an mx port job is not going to take any power away from the top end power that you have now. It will help it some. A dune port job will sacrifice bottom end power but will gain you more top end power than the MX port job. A MX port job is a mid range port job. A dune port is an upper rpm port job. Some builders have a more power every where port job, I would say that is in the neighborhood of an mx port job hope that kind of helps josh
  2. You could always wrap them with some header wrap. DEI makes some good stuff. But it can cause rusting because it will hold moisture against the exhaust. So if you get it wet make sure you fire it up and run it to dry it out. I would get the 1in wide stuff that way it lays flat and smoother on the exhaust pipes. When ever I have a girl on my banshee I use the go fast so they hang on tighter method, not try to carrie on an intelegant conversation method. DEI Header Wrap LINK
  3. I will be nice on this one. You dont have to change coolant just because your running race fuel. If you want a coolant that cools a little better in the hot heat of summer run Engine Ice. It is blue. Why would the color have to do with anything?
  4. Not knocking you or any thing. Under your theory then you should need the same jetting in your carb as a dual carb setup. Only one cylinder suckin air at a time. Then there is only one cylinder pulling fuel from the main jet at a time. In wich your carb should be jetted like a dual carb setup. Why do you run a 190 main jet then? My guess is because in the upper RPM's it is more like 2 cylinders sucking air at the same time. Your theory is ok at an Idle. The single carbs run pretty close the same size pilot jets as the dual set ups. Most people running duals run in the neighborhood of 145-152 mains. Your single is 190 main.
  5. Gixxer Kart LINK These guys put suzuki engines in go karts. Looks sweet.
  6. He helped my out big time by pulling something off of ebay. Gave me a really good price too.
  7. NYUK Great guy to deal with. Real Easey going. Will deffinatly do business again. josh jbooker82
  8. Turn your key on and off a couple of times. Same for the kill switch. Might just have a swich going bad. Mine does that some times. Also try a new set of plugs.
  9. NYUK to the rescue. Glad to here this ordeal is over, and guys helping each other out.
  10. Yea lets see a good pic of the dial or face. I havent ever seen a 5000 dollar watch before.
  11. Give it a shot of starting fluid.
  12. Here is why they all make boost bottles. 4 EASY WELDS + $2 DOLLARS IN ALUMINUM = $25 DOLLAR SALE = $20 PROFIT.
  13. I think that most people that use tripples have cnc billit cases made. Use Rotax crank and cylinders, with the banshee bottom end.
  14. I would say the reason why your banshee didnt want to run with out it is because your carb slides are a little out of sync. One probably needs the Idle turned up more. When the boost bottle was on it would give the cylinder that needed some more air a little more by breathing through the other carb via the boost bottle. The stock crossover tube would do the same thing.
  15. Your Right Boost Bottles are like Forced Induction. It probably isnt running  because it is not getting enough air.
  16. dajogejr is 100% right. Especially the BS part. :: Boost bottles are crap and cause your intake boots to crack. It is also a good place for sand to work its way in to the engine.
  17. No running it for a couple of seconds with out coolant wont hurt anything. Just dont give it time to warm up. You can run any type of coolant you want, just make sure that it is all the same. Get you a gallon of preston, peak, or what ever brand you want. Some people run the long life stuff. I would probably do that if I wasnt running engine ice. Engine Ice is supose to be the best, it helps your machine run cooler in the dead heat of summer. At the least I would do a compression check. You could always pull the pipes off and just look in through the exhaust ports. Dont requires nothing but your time, and gives you some reassurance.
  18.
  19. I run engine ice. If i was you I would pull the exhaust off, and the intakes, and reeds. Roll the engine over by hand and look in through the exhaust and Intake passages at the piston skirts. Look for scoring and other damage.
  20. Like marbles or steel ball bearings bouncing up and down on the pistons and head.
  21. Sorry I havent updated my sig. It is fixed now. I sold my SST's and got some Toomey T5's. The SST's came on a little sooner than the t5's. The T5's had the harder hit when it comes on the pipe. The t5's also reved higher. The T5's aslo sound way better. If you plan on doing any type of porting I would get the t5's over the t6's. josh
  22. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...01308QQtcZphoto I am not knocking you but in your ebay auction it says under the Shipping Insurance that it is Not Offered. The buyer couldn't have added insurance if he did want it. Hopefully you guys get it worked out.
  23. The T-5's are better for ported engines. Look at toomeys web page where you order. T-6 it says stock engine. T-5 Stock and Moddified engines. The Trinity Pipes would have worked great for Ported Engines too.
  24. If you read on your octane booster bottle it will claim boosting xnumber of points. That is not the number that you would see on the gas pump. It takes so many points before the octane rating goes up one whole number. It is a lot cheaper to buy race fuel and mix it instead of using an octane booster. But like dajogejr you really dont need it if your just advanceing the timing +4 deg. I run my banshee on premimum fuel with the mods in my sig. josh
  25. I always insure my packages that I ship. Even if it is just 50 bucks. That way if it gets lost i dont have to refund the money out of my own pocket, and I am not out a 50 dollar item that I had sold. I woulnt expect the buyer to eat the money for a lossed item and pass the buck saying that the shipper was fault, not my problem. I dont want to eat the loss as the seller, so I guess that leaves insurance as the only option. Plus Deliver Conformation on US Priority Mail is 45 cents. Well worth the money so I know when some thing has been deliverd, instead of some body trying to scam me.
