  1. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-RAZR-2-...1QQcmdZViewItem This is the best price I seen on them. 170 for 2 rears shipped, not terrible. I'm going to pick up either those or the I Razrs when I put my 01 back together, not sure yet, both look like some gnarly tires.
  2. Thanks man, compression was 125 in each cylinder like a month or so ago, and I haven't really ridden since, so it should be ok. I ran the same pilots last year, I might not have the idle air srew on the same setting, so I might check that. Thanks man,
  3. Man, all these rides of shame, and no pics. Kinda makes me wonder about half of these stories.
  4. Ok, this is the first time this happened to me. I re-jetted my carbs for the winter a few weeks back, 270 main, 25 pilot, has airbox w/ lid, FMF SSTs, runnin at sea level, and 0-20
  5. Yeah, I have a guy down in VA that did mine, I only had like 3 rides on them before I put on my SSTs, and it held up very very well. Make sure you get the high temp stuff, it's rated to 1100
  6. If compression is low, you'll be rebuilding the top end, porbably bore, hone, new pistons and rings. Also, make sure the carb bowls are not swapped. They are unique for each side, I did that on mine once.
  7. Never heard of a smurf duner. All the guys at the parts counter at the cycle shop by me are all flatbillers. They have the sleeves, the trucks, the dirtbikes. The one guy has an 05 f350 on 38s, sweet as hell! They are cool guys, though, I myself am no flatbiller, but I don;t have a problem with the few I know.
  8. I'm running 13/41 now with 20" rears, and I must say I like it so far. I went out and rode once on it, and it gives some nice lower end. I will be running 22" snow tires this winter, and all the snow riding I do is wide open, so the 22s should make the gearing taller again. The 13/41 combo pulls really nice though, I'm pretty happy so far, 1st gear is basically useless with this setup though, I don't even bother with it.
  9. Were you able to get the sprocket hub off? If not, the splines are probably corroded pretty damn good. If you did get it off, the bearings are probably what's fucked up. On one of my banshees, the axle came off super easy, on the other I just junked the whole carrier and hubs. You can dry giving it a bath with Liquid wrench, that might work. Here's what I did with mine:
  10. Depends, what kind of mods did yall do to the banshee? How good are you? If your racing on pavement don't even bother with 1st gear shift her right into 2nd.
  11. What's the deal with the 2 rear shocks? Wouldn't 1 revalved one work a little better? What's an R1 engine going for, that's basically what he'll get.
  12. Let's see some pics!!!
  13. there ya go! here's the URL in case you wanna use it somewhere else: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e130/JHu.../Picture315.jpg
  14. if you can't get them up, e-mail me them and I'll post them for you, this would be interesting to see, [email protected]
  15. The Yamaha specs are in Clymer right? I'm gonna do my 01 soon, but I can't find them in there, same deal, had a PSI around 105 or so, but I wasn't sure how I could tell if it needed a re-bore or just a hone and rings. Anyway I can find out the specs and measure it at home. Sorry to thread crap, but it seams kinda related.
  16. Spy Targas, great buy, think they were 32.95 on rocky mountain, had them for a year know, and would definately buy another pair.
  17. Notice how this homo just up and disappeared after he got owned on here. NYUK, I hope you didn't comp that bling, check out his feedback: i was disappointed at the quality of this item. i was just wondering if this is going to tarnish?? I thought it would be thicker- I noticed later it said silver plated Tried to email. wouldn't work with me. Don't go near a magnet with this stuff on Late and defective-promised replacement then disappeared-will dispute w/ paypal the chain is not a Gucci link chain!!...disprove! :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: Off to a great start I see.
  18. Damn good advice! Easier said then done though, :yelrotflmao: .
  19. Hmmm, if that's the case, then you could have a broken reed, although it would idle like shit. I would check and double check the needle clip positions, jet sizes, pilots, etc. There is a chart here that shows possible jetting problems depending on where in the throttle range you are having problems, think it's in a FAQ at the top of the jetting forum.
  20. Cool man, those clutch housings are pretty neat, I wanted one for my build this winter, but 249 is a litle steep I think. If it was like 175-200 I would probably get one. Nice thouygh, I realy like the lexan inserts.
  21. I'd like to know more about this too, that is the way it would seem to me. I know the 450 has more useable power, but that much more?
  22. Make sure you didn't switch the carb bowls, they are unique on each side. Also, amke sure the jetting is the same on both sides, and if you don't have one, I'd get a carb synch tool, makes it hella easier to set the idle.
  23. Thanks for the reply man. The bike is a 98, but it probably only has 20 or so hurs on it since it was purchased new in 2000. My dad rode it for a 2 years in upstate NY from the house to the road and back, then it sat for 2 years there until I came, got it, and brought it back here. So I'm thinking it shouldnt be anything more then dirty ass fuel, and carbs, so I'll clean 'em out and hope it fires up. I think it does have the auto decompress vale, it is an electric start, I'm not sure if that matters or not though. havent compression tested it yet, but I was thinking 130 would be high, but if it's not, it's not. Thanks again, I'm gonna get started on this thing tomorrow.
  24. Ok, now that my 2002 is back together, I want to get my Kawie runnin' for the winter. It's a 1998 Bayou 300 4x4. I bought it off a buddy a few years back, and it ran great, but then it sat for 2 years, and now when you start it up it just spits and sputter. All the stale gas needs to be cleaned out, and the carbs need to be cleaned out too, and I'll change fluid, the whole 9 yards. I was going to do a compression test just to make sure the rings and head gasket are still good too. I guess my question is what kind of pressure should I be looking for? I know on a stock banshee 130PSI is good, but I would think that would be too high on a 300cc 4 stroke Bayou. I was thinking more to the order of 100PSI or so, but I have no clue. The Clymer manual for this bike says that Kawie doesn't give a pressure, so it says nothing. As al;ways, thanks for the help!
  25. Do you have a link to this frame? Somebody posted a drag style frame earlier in the thread, but I'm guessing your thinking of a different one. If it's stock geoemetry, I'd stay away from it. You can still find Outlaw and Laeger frames, and I would much much rather have one of those if it were me.
