Ok, I'm building a new engine, and the cylinders I got, need to be bored and honed. I'm sending them out to have them done, and since I had it apart, I figured now would be the time to have porting done. Just had a few questions for anyone running an MX port. The MX Port is quite a bit of money on top of the bore/hone/pistons. It is a little more then I wanted to spend, but I figured now would be the time.
If I have the cylinders sleeved later on, what would be the deal with the porting? Can they even be re-sleeved after porting? Is it a pain in the ass, and a ton of money to do this?
On average, how much will I notice the MX port? It will be done on the 2001 in my sig, with the mods listed. I really would like the powerband to come on a bit smoother.
Once this is done, I really don't want to do anything else. I don't want to do new carbs, or anything else, I'm way over budget on this build allready. So I guess my next question is will I need anything else other then a few extra jets to play around with?
I guess that's it for now. The bore/hone and pistons are running me about 280 total, I really wasnt planning to dump more $$ on a port job, but if it's really going to be worth it, and I won't have to buy anything else for it, I'll probably go with it. As always, thanks a lot, you guys are always super-imformative,
