  1. I think about 15-20 miles or so. I mostly do trails, and that seems to be what I got out of my stock tank. Before I wrecked my shit, I had an IMS tank, and that would last me fine for a whole 6-7 hours of riding. Don't knock this dude, this is a legit question, he's probably planning a trip, or doing some long ass trails. The above posters are right though, there are a lot of varibables, you might want to specify the type of riding you do, and maybe even your riding habits. I tend to kepp it high it the revs( :woot: it is a banshee), and late shift it. If you short shift it obivously that is going to help, and if downshit to help with the braking that will help. And you can always use your jewish overdrive(probably not PC anymore but I grew up with it)(just put it into neutral) when going down hills. Only once was I on a long ride where I wasnt sure, and I made it back on reserve, the above shit kind of helped.
  2. Picture doesnt work. That's a new story to me, probably a lot funnier if I could see the pic to go along with it. Whoa, never mind, damn, nice pic! I'd give her a buck or two.
  3. Thanks for all the good advice  I'm still contemplating keeping her, or else selling it off so I can finish my 01 project. Just got rid of my R1, so that freed up a little cash. One of my buddies got messed up real bad on a Raptor at the beginning of the summer, and I've lost too many friends on street bikes. I don't know, the money issue of fixing up the bike isnt what bothers me, just my own mortality I guess. I usually have pretty good judgement, but for some reason, whenever I get going, it's hard to stop. I put wheels on from my 01 so I could at least roll it around, and I can see that the subframe is way worse then it was before, about a 2" difference side to side. Also, I don't know if it's the a-arms or what, but the front sits cockeyed too. I wont get a chance to tear into even if I do keep it until December or so. I went back to school this semester, and I work Wednesday through Sunday, so it's kinda tough. I'm also building a shed in my backyard(yeah, yet another project), but that will be good place to work on shit for the winter, I'll probably wind up keeping it, because I don't mind working on shit, the motor is kinda fucked too, there is a ton of smoke on the right side. I posted pics in the repairs section. I'm pretty convinced the right crank seal is gone, everything else checked out. But anyway, I've been working on my bikes since I was little, the only part that fucks me up is the 2 carbs, everything else I've had has only had 1. I'm still waiting on pics from my buddy, he's slower then shit, but they are some pretty "good" accident scene photos. If anyone in NJ wants this shit though, send me a PM with an offer, for the right amount of $$$ I will sell it.
  4. Ehhh, I'd still take a well setup banshee for trails over the KTM/Polaris, too big, IRS sucks, and was never a big fan of 4 strokes. Best mod for under 250 is your trying to improve handling........ some good rear tires. You'll notice a world of difference especially if your runnin' stockers. Razr2s are nice, they hook up a lot better for trails, I was running bandits, I'll probably go with Kenda Knarleys next, and cut some nobs out. Don't knock the banshee though, they hold their own in every terrain, they are easy and cheap(compared to others) to setup. I've ridden almost everything under the sun, and I wouldnt take anything else, granted it is mostly prefernce. Ohh yeah, and the boost bottle has helped me win many a races. Best bang for the buck out there, most people just don't know how to use it. I'll let you in on the secret.... When someone is about to pass you, rip it out of the intake boots, and chuck it at them, aim for upper torso, and you'll be sure to win.
  5. 2001s didn't have brake lights, it's only 02 and up. I need a steering stem, as long as it's straight. Hit me up!
  6. About 2 and a half years now, bought my 2001 in 2004 from a buddy. I had a Warrior before that, and a Kawie Mojave before that, I'd never ride anything else!
  7. Hey bro, what's up? I know it's been a while, but do you still have that front bumper? If so, I'll take it, shoot me a PM whenever you get a chance. Thanks,
  8. He has a liscense, he's trying to sell his Chevy Blazer too, and a nice one at that.
  9. interested too, anywhere near NJ? race fronts?
  10. Hey, what's up, if nothing pans out for you, hit me up, I'm about an hour away in NJ, if you want shoot me a PM, got any pics at all? Thanks man,
  11. Need an air box w/ lid, intake boots, and all those metal screw rings that hold that stuff together. Thanks,
  12. I believe the stock head is 22cc, someone correct me if I'm wrong. As far as using pump gas, you should be fine with 21cc heads, +4 timing. You should compression test it just to be sure, if you search around you will find the compression limit for pump gas, I can't remember it off the top of my head. Stock is 125PSI, I think you can go up to 170 or so with pump gas, I don't remember though.
  13. I think the 2 into 1 systems tend to be amore of a preference rather then a nessity for trails. I have heard a lot of reviews that said stock duals were quicker, and pulled a lot more. A few people here ran them and didn't like them, others swear by them. I have no experince with them, and I'd love to try one, but you are correct, the price is up there. I'd wait on a 2 into 1 setup for a while IMO.
  14. Hell yeah, Jeff is the man. I don't think I'll ever be able to get out and ride with him, because I never have anything that works. But he hooked me up on a whole bunch of stuff. A real stand up guy!
  15. Hey, I'll take the e-z pull clutch, what kind of shape is the renthal chain in? Got a pic by any chance? If it's in decent shape, consider it sold. PM me with payment info. Thanks!
  16. God damn, that is a weird one there. A simple thing to check is the gap between the pickup coil, and the flywheel. It should be .02" if I remember right. Usually when the bike takes a long ass time to hit on the powerband, the gap is too big. I'd check that really quick, otherwise, that is one of the weirder problems I've heard of.
  17. Hell yeah, the Gnarlies have a real nice low hit, also, you could drop one tooth on the front sprocket, it shortens the gearing up a little bit, and makes it easier to get going up hill shoots, etc. You will loose a little top end, but hey, you gotta get that power from somewhere.
  18. :yelrotflmao: back in the day...... For real, I don't know what your screen name means, or even how to pronounce it, but you've been a big help with all of my banshee problems. I think we should start a roast of dajogejr.
  19. Thanks for the info. I do use PJ1 2 stroke gear oil, but it just smells like a regular old 2 stroke. This was the same bike from my rides of shame thread, so it was rolled pretty bad, and that's when the rich right side started happeneing. I probably should have mentioned that earlier :: Thanks again for all the info, here is what I came up with so far I'm thinking it could be the float height is fucked up the right side(something stupid as hell, that I didn't even think about until now). I'm gonna go on that tomorrow, and see what I get from there. ust to double check, it should be about 20-22mm right? I got that from Clymer, but I didn'tknow if it would differ for my mods. The carbs don't leak gas ornayhting, but I think it might be high enough where its suckin too much gas, but not enough to overflow. Also, I wanna check the reeds out again. They looked perfect last time I had it part, 1 week ago, but hey, you never know I guess. I PMed Jeff about the carb synch tool today, and I'm waiting to hear back from him so I can order it. If this doesnt work, then it's gonna be leakdown time.
  20. Shit man, nice work. I still wanna send my frame out to you to have basically the same thing done. I'd rather not attempt it myself, and I like the idea of covering the engine mounts. Sweet!
  21. I did the same thing the first time I tried to remove my flywheel. I found that when I did it, the puller would not thread in al the way because there was dirt and shit in the threads on the flywheel. It seemed as though it were tight, and threaded out, but it wasn't. Measure the threads with a ruler, and match them up to the puller, you'll see about how far in it has to sink. Hit the flywheel threads with some WD40, and carefully clean them with a wire brush. The flywheel puller is also rverese threaded, so when you screw it into the flywheel it will be lefty tighty, and righty loosie. Aside from that, I used a cheater bar(probably not reccomended), and mine popped off. I've done it on 2 banshees now, and I only had a problkem the first time. I guess if it were rusted it might not want to come off so easily, but otherwise, I would think it shouldn't be a problem.
  22. Thanks man, My next step is a leakdown test. I'm just trying to go back over the carbs, because my tranny oil is till full after 4 or 5 hours worth of riding like this(yeah, I know it's not good). My mains are both the same now, 260s, from the same kit, but I must be funckin' missing something easy. Although, the crank seals are original from 02, and I bought the bike used, so, you never know I guess. This is drivin' me nuts though!
  23. God damn, I'm glad I got AAA. For real, that is unlucky as shit, I hope you sued the fuck outta the dude that hit you, I know if that shit happened to me, I'd take everything but his left nut.
