Mine made a ticking sound until last week when I lightened one piston when I put a hole in it :: But from measuring the cylinders it was probably because they were out of round and it was piston slap since the cylinders were wore out. The good part is Redline is cleaning up the port work and fixing the nick in the base of the cylinder that caused me to blow the hole in the piston. Hope you get it figured out before it becomes a really expensive fix.

That is the truth for sure.....Went riding last week and something went wrong and now I got a nice hole in my piston. It was down on compression anyways and needed a new topend but I was planning on doing it on my terms, lol. What would be a comparable hauler to Padla's? I'm more familiar with haulers so I was just trying to get a better idea. Thanks guys.

A guy I know has a 4mil cheetah like yours that dyno'd 103. He's running +6 swinger 22-11-8 10 pdl with the Kevlar blades. It will still pull the front end but is still very dunable with a +6. Much more and like Loco said you'll have duning issue.

"Hey guys! I was one of the guys running the STU Paddla Brats on YFZCentral.com. I had the 6 paddle comp cuts. They weighed about 10.2 lbs mounted on blue labels" That sounds about right. You probably were one of the guys cuz the reference to Fullerton sounds familiar. They are just so spendy and would hate to someday buy a pair and wish I would of just stayed with extremes. This is a good topic, definately helping me with some questions I had.

What makes them hook so much better than skat extremes? I run 22-11-8 9pdl extreme ultra lights and they seem to hook good for the most part. Would you gain that much by going to 21-11-8 9 pdl padla brat? On yfz central a while back guys were talking them up pretty good, there were definately no complaints about them. If they were that good though wouldn't the drag guys be running them since there so light and hook so well? Not trying to bicker just saying the drag guys usually run the best thing they can get there hands on so if they were that phenomenal I figured they'd be running them. One more thing, whats the deal with the staggered cut? I've never seen them except for some crappy gecko's or something. It must serve a purpose but what is it. Thanks so far for the info so far

I went on Dave Moore's site and I think he had an outlaw dagger style frame on their......granted it came basically as a rolling chassis, was like $5,000 and it wasn't titanium either. I don't know what my point is but all the after market frames are spendy, Odaen's right obviously someones buying them or they'd be cheaper by now.

What makes them that much better than 22-12-8 9pdl extremes? Are they designed to be a better all around tire or what? I've heard of people running them but i've never seen any here in Oregon. They sure are spendy though. What would you gain from ditching the 22's is I guess my question....I sure do like my ultralights

During this time of year your chances of being checked are pretty slim. I have CPI's and have never been bothered but I go the other way when I see them in the dunes. My buddy has t5's and runs a hush bottle since he got ticketed previously but he only rides in the summer when they are mostly present. Another buddy has t6's and never had a problem so I wouldn't sweat it. Have fun man the dunes are getting big with all the storms were having and the tree shots are getting nice fluffy stuff in them again. Good luck

I have a +6 also and all I do is ride at the dunes. Open dune riding with some trails and primarily dragging and tree shots. I don't think it's as bad as most think.....You get used to it and you adjust. Sometimes I have to stop and move the back end when I'm in the trees and it's tight but more times than not I'm ok. +4 is what most would consider"perfect" for the dunes...the best of both worlds. You've got nothing to lose if you buy it.... like Animal said, if you don't like it switch bcak and sell the swinger. Your not going to lose money in the deal. Good luck

Man wish I had an unlimited supply of funds......I'll give yuh a bump for already wanting more power even though you never unwrapped it,lol. Oh, one thing....how big yuh going?

i'd try posting this in the repair and mod forum, might get more help over there.

Alright thats sound good, I'll have to see what I can find. Thanks for the help

So I went riding this past weekend and my throttle started hanging up...the very first time I fired it up it hung up really bad had to kill it to shut it off, but it only was when it was cold. I've adjusted the slides down at the tops and I adjusted the cable also at the bars.... so I then played with the way the cable was sitting and thought I got it fixed but after it was cold it do it again, I'd race around for a few and then never again on an 1-1.5hr ride. I had just put them back together after putting in a new needle and seat. If it was dirt why would it only do it when it's cold? Thats what has me stumped. thanks Geoff

know someone with a 421 cheetah and +6. Only dune rides and it will definately pull the front end. He's running kevlar 10 pdl extreme ultralights. Axis shocks all the way around. +4 would be a handful if you have the proper tire setup. Thats just my opinion from what I've seen in the dunes but I don't know jack so take it for what it's worth.
-
Thats simple enough, I was thinking too much. Thanks
-
I don't know jack about motorcycles....so how do you turn the bike on if you switch it over to just a push button kill switch. I know that sounds dumb but I've never messed around with a bike. Baby steps man,lol
-
you put some flat track type tires on and can get the hang of the launch and you'll kill them even more.....you'll smoke them without slick style tires but then it wouldn't be even funny. Good luck man

Ok I've wondered this for awhile and hoping HQ'ers can help answer it. Why is it that you can run dual 38's but if you switch to a single you'll run a 35 or 38? Why is it the same or less with a single even though the engine still has the same fuel demands. I mean you have a 38mm carb for each cylinder and then now your trying to have a single 38mm carb do the same job. To me it would seem that when you switch to a single it should be like a 41-44mm carb or something(just throwing out some numbers) to do the job. I'm into old cars/trucks an say your running around with a dual carb setup your running 2 400cfm carbs.....if I switch to a single carb intake I don't run 1 400cfm or 500cfm I run like a 750cfm or there abouts, you follow me? Help explain this to me guys. Thanks Geoff

F.A.S.T 1, So is it possible to put a toggle in place of the on/off switch also? I was just talking to my dad about this the other day, hiding them up inside the plastic.....around the tank or something like that. Is your waterproof toggle enclosed or is it just coated in something to make it waterproof? Used normal toggles but few and far between, never waterproof one though. Thanks

A buddy had the same problem as you but he was running stock carrbs though......He traced it back to the problem, which was him working on it after a case of beer.......He had the slides in backwards, the cut goes towards the air filters if you didn't know.
-
alright man I'll ask him about it. Thanks
-
That big black plastic piece that has the lights and on/off switch kinda hits my new lever. Is there anyway to just eliminate it completely? Besides the issue above it would make the bars look alot cleaner. Thanks for any ideas guys Geoff

Yeah thats the one Bruce. pretty nice people, better than some of the others here in town. If you need oem stuff they'll usually have it were as some of the other dealers don't have anything...not even a drain plug.
-
Man thats only like 20min from me. My sister has bought all there bikes there.....every once in awhile they have a Banshee for sale with drag pipes, pretty good place to deal with though.

ZX12, That who the other one was..Overnite. I don't know what you guys are making back there but I think UPS guys top out at around 26-27 bucks, which is pretty good in my opinion for cruising at 55 with the cruise control on. Good luck Oh and Cats are the only way to go. I just have never been that impressed with the cummings engines that I've got to drive, didn't seem to have as much bottom end power as the cats do.
