Yeah I saw a shee he build thats the stock blue with a drag axle that was all narrowed up. It got r done for sure, was really poppy sounding with I think CPI's. I raced him once and he ate me up off the line. I saw Cameron there also in september with his 450. That thing wooped my buddy in his 450 pretty bad. That thing was pretty impressive since he's learning on the fly with it. My bro-in-law wishes Cameron did head work on Raptors since thats what he's got. I don't know if I'll be able to afford the 4mil since I've got to buy +2+1a-arms since I just bought shocks for my bike. Thanks for your help Later Geoff

Went to the dunes this past weekend for a few ours and everything was pretty beat down so I was in the process of making my own trail when the front end came up and spun me down hill in the air and flipped me upside down into an old trail. Well it completely broke of my clutch lever and I need a new one since I might go riding next weekend. I've searched on ebay and here and stuff but I just don't know whats good. The ASV's are nice but pricey....but are they worth it? I remember awhile back some one talking about MSR Raptor shorty clutch but I couldn't find a pic. I only want to do this once so if you guys could give me some info so I spend my money wisely that would be great. Thanks in advance guys Geoff

Bruce, I saw that Cameron sells them for like 550 chromed maybe less. I got mine For 563 but I think the chrome job is kinda crappy. Oh I forgot to ask you. How was your shee when you had it ported by Cameron before the 4mil? I may just have him do some port work for now.....I mean I haven't even had the bike 8 months yet, lol. Don't want to do everything right off the bat cuz whats going to be left to do. Later Geoff

ZX12, you should have a pretty good chance of getting on.....I'm here in Oregon and I know they are hiring what seems to be quite a few people since they just took over motor cargo and someone else. Good luck to yuh man, long haul aint for me.....props to you guys that can pull it off.
-
Man, you don't know what to say......You can see all the blood on the drivers seat in one of the pics, kinda eary feeling. Thanks for posting this

Man thats what all our mechanics say to, they must tell all you guys that in the training vids or something, lol. If those mechanics would fix it right the 1st time I wouldn't have to keep bringing it in,lol.

I don't know if you guys would consider me a "real" truck driver but I work for a food company. We are pretty much local and pull shuttles with doubles and triples. We deliver Subways, Applebees, Cinnabons, Tacotimes to name a few. It pays well but they'sve been really running us into the ground, we can't get enough people hired.

dajogejr, I've already got the stock style +6, it was on the bike when I bought it... I want to switch over to the honda style carrier. How much are the stockers like ours going for? I have not idea what to sell it for when the time comes. Thanks for the offer though....I would if I didn't already have it.
-
Thanks dajogejr, locogato11283 I figured it was something like that, to good of price. I'm not in the market quite yet just seeing whats out there as far as prices. I've ckecked out T-dub since he's local(20min away) and he seems to make a good piece. Dajogejr, I'll check them out when the time comes thanks man.

Saw there swingarms on Ebay... 4130 chromoly, round tube, chromed w/carrier, and braket for caliper for $455 including the carrier. This seems to good to be true....anyone ran across these or got one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/banshee-swi...042834521QQrdZ1

No doubt.....Probably the nicest Shee's I've ever seen in person. Don't know if they ride them even though they say they do,lol. They definately have some sick bikes there.

Yeah, theres always all the "little" stuff that gets yuh. I figured it would be about half that since your not buying new cylinders, but no one told me that just a number I had in my head. Thanks for the input

Come on guys, help a brotha out  . I got my head off now and the pistons aren't concaved which is good, theres no pitting in the head either. I was curious though, I can make out a number on one of them and it's 89671 if I'm correct. Anyone know what it means? I bought this bike used last winter/spring and this is the first time I've pulled the head(putting on a Noss Head). I checked the compression when I first got it and checked it again today and it's the same, so I would take it as a good sign that the topend is not worn out. Well looks like I'll get back to work on it.
-
OK, I just got my Noss Head and am going to put it on tomorrow. I bought my bike used last spring and supposebly my the head was shaved and it has a "race port". I know that depending what kind of port work has been performed it can lower your compression. The one time I checked my compression it wasn't high at all(115ish). I know it's ported, my buddie has a shee thats identical in mods and I'll spank him. So is there anyway to mic the head and find out if anything has been done to it? The bike runs great, once i get fuel in the carbs...1 maybe 2 kicks. One more question, anyone know a round about figure on how much it costs to put a 4mil in an OEM motor. If I were to do a topend I've contemplated doing this but have no idea on what it would entail.....If they say $500 it will probably $1000 by the time your done, just like old cars. Thanks guys Geoff

I bought the chrome ones from cascade innovations that have the rubber in them. They have 2 set screws built into them. I had to make 3/4 in. spacers though because if you mount them without it there all into the frame, this way it wouldn't hit my head, etc... I think I paid around $60, check out their web site.
-
I'll have to take a pic of mine sometime....It's right to the edge I know that. Thanks for answering, I was curious if the guy I bought it from was just throwing out a number or what.
-
you mean you turned the plate all the way to the right, correct? Also I was wondering whats the most timing you can add by modding the stock plate. Mine was already done and the guy said around +4. Just wondering what others have been told.
-
Dj, thanks for explaining that makes more sense. One thing though do you have to go back to Zero on your timing plate since you would now be able to adjust it "on the fly" so to speak. My buddy has a Dyna on his YFZ and he has the little switch thing mounted to his bars. Thanks again

convince me i need a banshee instead of a 450r
Geoff replied to wannashee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
First I don't know if theres any hope since your thinking of a 450r. It would be somewhat tough if you were talking about a YFZ. My buddy has a YFZ and with a lightened flywheel and other engine mods it's about the closest 4-stroke you can get to a shee. It revs fast and the power starts being alot "snappier" in a sense. I plan on getting a YFZ in a year or 2 but I'll never get rid of the shee, like said above theres nothing like it. I'm the only one in are group with a shee and all the guys always want to take it out(theres 2 LTR-450's, 2 YFZ's, and 2 Raptors/1 cammed & ported and 1 w/a 720) because as fast as the 4-strokes are you don't get that seat of the pants feel like your arms are going to come out of the sockets and so on. You just can't explain it, good luck with your choice man. -
Were'd you guys get yours at? I know Cascade has it for around $285. djackbanshee, how exactly does it work? I don't think I'm understanding. I associate alot to old cars with ignition boxes and stuff and sometimes it crosses me up.....If that makes any sense at all
-
Hows the holeshot rev limiter work exactly. I'm guessing its set strictly for the intial take off only ie...starting line and so on. Sounds like a good piece, thanks for your guys info so far. It's getting that time of year and want to start doing some mods for next year(I winter ride but everyines out in the summer). thanks again
-
Already have +4 timing. I know there both different but I think there the only 2 mods you can do the ignition/electrical system as far as power is concerned. I don't want to buy the coil and have it be crap because I don't have a modified ignition and I don't want to buy a dyna to find out it's not that beneficial on shee's/2-strokes. Not saying this is the case I just like to do stuff once and be done with that item, thats all.
-
Which one is the better bang for the buck? I have heard good things about the Nology coil and its around $130-140. I don't know anyone with either one on a shee but a buddy has A Dyna on his 450 and he likes it's adjustability but it's around $300. I just ride the dunes and do a little of everythng ie..hill shots, drag, trails, fast group riding thru the dunes. I hate doing things twice so before I buy either I want to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks Geoff

Ok I already run 50/50 mix(92/110) but I'm not sure what cc domes. I only ride a sea level and I would prefer to keep running mix rather than straight race gas but if I have to I would. I bought my bike used supposebly the head was shaved and been ported but I'm not sure, haven't had it apart. I checked the compression awhile back and it was only around 115 or so but I had one of my dads old compression testers and I don't think it had the right adapter(to short). I have +4 timing now should I run 19's or 20's? I ride exclusively at the Oregon coast for any of you Oregon guys that wanna help a brother out, lol. Any help would be great. Thanks Geoff

I haven't ran them but if your only looking for low end most will probably tell you Paul Turner mids. They look good and they seem to work well from what I've heard from those who have used them.
