Nope it was not 49hp, and it was not on a crank dyno. It made 54hp on and rear wheel dyno jet. Some of the huge things that people disregard when testing on a dyno is run times and torque curves. My bike had a faster run time on the dyno, than any other stock cylinder ported Banshee he had ever run. So thats where these torque numbers play a huge role. The acceleration of my bike is awesome.
Now, my best friends stock cylinder, ported, 4mm jsd stroker on the same dyno made 62hp, which makes sense, cause it will rip me a new one on the hill. The stroker had about a .2 second faster run time than me too, which is pretty considerable acceleration wise.
I would assume on the crank dyno based on the other motors I have seen Dyno Dave run on it, my motor would probably be in the 63-66 hp range off the crank. A full port 350 with PC pipes on it made about 68hp. I think that 4mm jsd stroker would probably be around 75-78 hp on the crank dyno.
All iin mind, I am trying some new needles this weekend, so I think I can pickup a litle more power down low, we will see though. Its been hard to get the needle dialed, cause there is nobody with my pipe, port, and intake setup that has ran a pwk 35mm carb before. So I had to try and guess my needle size, now I have been buying needles and trying them out, and I am probably 1 size away from where I need to be now. The difference between the dek needle and the eek needle I run now though was amazing. Turned the bike into a wheelie monster 1/2-7/8 throttle wise. I run a +6 swingarm on it too.
