  1. You could change it and probably benefit from some more compression and a better squish gap. I typically do coolheads though, they bring the squish down where it needs to be and you can set your compression where you want.
  2. it depends on your current squish reading, and what gasket is currently installed on the head and/or base of the cylinders.
  3. Nobody is real fond of the power valve cylinder kits because they have a hard time tuning them.
  4. You get ballpark jetting first. Then start going up one main jet size at a time until you feel the bike slow down. Then work back to the size before the slow down. Too rich is blubbery, too lean is hesitant and non-responsive. All the time I check the plug and look for a nice dry outer ring with some color in the center on the porcelain. I peek down towards the bottom and look for the color to be darker. I typically start out the day with a new plug and keep checking it through out the day. You cant get too bent up on plug color with running race gas, it wont make color like pump gas does. So relying on the feel is more of what you have to rely on. Two other thing you can check is for oil in the silencers and the burn pattern on the top of the pistons when you look down in the spark plug holes with a borescope. That last method isn't too common for your average atv owner though. I do alot of tuning, thats my advantage against most other guys with ported 350s and mini strokers. Usually I win races on the hill cause I spend hours fine tuning the bike, and they just have their jetting close enough to run well but not awesome. It pisses some guys off that a ported 350 with pro circuit pipes and twin 28mm flatslide mikuni carbs beats their 4mm stroker with cpi's and 35mm pwk's on the strip. The big torque my bike makes gets it out of the hole quick, and it peaks at about 8600 rpm with around 68 hp. So a nice 3rd gear launch puts me in front of them, and can usually hold them off until the end of the strip. I just think its funny. Dont get me wrong though, I have come across a few good running 350's and some arm wrenching 4mm stroker bikes. I have had my ass handed to me by them.
  5. Leave it till it blows up or you decide to add more compression. Whats the squish now?
  6. Dynoport pipe on 93 octane: .045" squish and 160 psi compression ought to work the best. Dynoport only reves to around 8,600 rpm. I usually suggest squish windows within .005", so you could go .045"-.050" Closer you are to the lower the number, typically the better it will run. Its a minimal difference though.
  7. Refer to chart. get the settings in ballpark, then make adjustments one at a time. Start with main jet, then needle size, then clip position, then pilot jet and air screw. Dont ever change a bunch of stuff at once, you wont know what affected what that way. I dont do plug chops, I go off feel, and general look of the plugs I am running. I also use egt's in certain situations. I run alot of stuff on the dyno, so thats another way I get jetting in to the ballpark.
  8. It doesn't seem to be different from duals at all.
  9. The higher the rpm motor, the more stuff stretches out in lenght. Therefore, if you have a high rpm motor with .045" squish, the piston can smack the head. You dont want to go to far though, then the flame front wont burn even and cause the bike to run like pooh.
  10. With T5's and a dune port (or slightly raised exhaust port) I would be running .050"-.055" Thats roughly gonna be for a 9,500-10,000 rpm motor.
  11. I would think it would be in more of the range of an EEJ and a 42 or 40 pilot.
  12. actual squish you need to setup at is going to depend on the rpm the motor will achieve.
  13. Your confusing yourself because the cylinders are burning so rich, its washing your plug down with fuel. Thats why your not getting a good color ring.
  14. when you tune with an egt you just jet it till your hittin just under 1250 degrees at wot. There is a possibility the needle is causing some weird stuff on the top end if it is massively rich. I dont see the main needing to be much bigger than a 205 0r 210, but its hard to say. I have never seen the size of the ports in a vitos monoblock. Oil in the silencers is an indicator its running rich somewhere. When you go from 200 and move up to 220 doe sit ever seen to run different on the topend? Whats the main purpose of this bike, Sand?
  15. How does it run? Does it climb rpm even, is it light switchy, does it burble or hesitate anywhere? Is it smokey at all? How about oil residue in the silencers? How are you testing it (on the street, sand)? Thats an extremely rich running needle by size. Best way to jet a bike is using an egt, its fool proof.
  16. TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK! You need to also list the needle and clip position your at. Air screw Turns out? Has the float level been checked?
  17. It looks like your giving jet specs for dual carbs, thats real lean. This guy has a single carb. What jetting is in the carb?
  18. Check the lighting wire where it comes out of the stator at the plug in. You need to prod it with a test light until you find where its no longer traveling down the wire? You need some testers to check basic things like bulbs, wire continuity, regulator integrity, etc.....
  19. You need to get a meter and or a test light and fix your stuff first before you go changing it.
  20. I remeber thos days. My first bike was an 86 LT250R Quadracer. Then I had a 91 LT250R, and a 87 Banshee after that. I went to the kingdome and watched Gary Denton and Doug Eichner Battle it out in the Mickey Thompson Series back in the Early 90's.
  21. I would play "Your the best around" from the Karate kid if I was a ufc fighter.LOL!
  22. I made this video of me and my crew. Coos Bay Vice Link!
  23. LOL yeah but there is a lot of music out there. I have never seen a MC or quad vid with music that I or anyone I ride with likes the soundtrack on.
  24. Why is it that like 90% of people who ride bikes and motorcycles love that head banger shit? I was hoping one day they would come out with a quad video or motorcycle video where the guy singing wasn't yelling at the top of his lungs the whole time. Or you could understand what he was saying. I am more of a Rick James guy myself. Im rich bitch!
  25. Thats a pretty cherry looking death trap!
