  1. So here is my issue.. I bought another head on ebay and was going to get milled but it has not arrived yet! I need to break in my motor asap so it is ready for this weekend at glamis.. this pic shows my old head with the aluminum spray on the head.. Is there any way I could clean up the inside chamber and use it to break in the motor until i get the new one??
  2. does he have a website.. thanks!
  3. I am going to run a milled head with a fresh bore..
  4. Hey guys.. I have been running with +4 timing and just got a mx port and also a milled head. Can I advance the timing one more degree or will I need to run race gas?
  5. Anyone know a place close? I need to get it back asap so I need something close.. Thanks!
  6. hey all I need a stock head. Im trying to make glamis this weekend!!
  7. i just sent you a message..
  8. well I have the flywheel off now but I am doing a rebuild and am nervous about putting it back on.. I had to use a wheel puller to get it off this last time..
  9. the threads on my flywheel is rusty and I cannot thread the puller on it. This is the 3rd puller I got. Two I stripped on my last flywheel, (which the shop had to drill and pull off!) Now with the newer one, the threads are all rusted up again! Any ideas how to clean them so I dont strip the tool again?
  10. so a question... can I jack the back wheels up and do this or does it have to ba on the ground? 5 gallons of gas seems like alot? Will I be able to feel the motor changing as it is breaking in?
  11. I have thought about it! Searched everywhere on the net.. Little more pride telling someone your running a stator that you rewound yourself.. and it works! but to each their own.. Ive been checking out the electrix 220 stator also.
  12. Yo I had the same noise and rode it until I siezed the motor! Diff story, but the noise was a timing plate bolt. It could not come out cause of the flywheel but sounded bad. I thought it was a bunch of stuff including the water pump..
  13. ok how about hondabond 4? it is the only one i can find in this area and I would really like to put them together today.. I read somewhere that it is the same thing as yamabond 4 just labled for honda?? and truth to this?
  14. the 5 says the same thing. semi drying... no go huh... i ws hoping to build tonight but.... gotta do it right
  15. Hey guys i got yamabond 5 to put my cases back together.. is this ok? The only one I keep seeing is yamabond 4 like it says in my book. Thanks`
  16. ok so..... when I talk to my machine guy..how much can I tell him to take off??
  17. cool thanks! I had the 310s with pods and stock port. Ill pickup some extra jets but you think 350 is where to start?? what is the largest jets stock carbs can take?? Im curious to know when its time for bigger carbs..
  18. so what is the optimum mm to remove? I have seen 20mm to 30mm..
  19. yeah, ya know.... I totally understand when people get upset about using the search opton... but I am in the same boat, new motor, need some info... I tried the search under a bunch of diff wordings... just came back with a bunch of crap.. maybe we need more stickies?? or someone can weed through the bad post and save the good ones in an archive somewhere? My 2c.
  20. No I am not getting the head rechambered.. What does that include and why do you say that the motor wont last long?? The jetting I had when I melted was 310 mains and stock pilots. I blew out a reed gasket somehow and it leaned out my mixture. New to the motor is pistons, port, pilot jet, head mill, (which has not happened yet but will this week sometime) Is there a different mm to mill the head to not ruin the motor?? I havent heard that before but have the chance to not do it or have less taken off.. 4mm crank... I need to invest in the crank (which I know the price of) but are there other mods that have to be done to go with that? Thanks!
  21. Well I melted one piston all the way down to the first ring. I Just got my jugs ported, they will be bored and honed tomorrow with 64.5mm rings. The head will be milled .35mm also by the same company. Check out my mods for the rest.. So for my question... I am wondering what start to save up for next?? are there any other bolt ons? or am I out of that market now? Thanks! (any idea what my jetting might change to?)
  22. gettin close!! bump for more!!
  23. home depot.. or your fathers gaarage junk! I found mine in my landlords garage.. i think it was from a 70's screen door. its bad ass!! just keep your eye out for something. there is alot you can use!
