im getting my bike back together and i decidied to have a drag port done. my mods are-- shaved fly wheel,shaved reed cages,+4 timing,shaved head .030,f.a.s.t. clutch,just been bored .040,hot rod crank. i use for sand drags and duneing. i run a +6 swing arm. my ? is what size carbs should i go with ?? and mukini or keihin ??

just was getting ready to post the same thing. id like to know what others think about these carbs.

i wonder what kind of metal they are made of.

what do you think about boyesen reeds?? buddy has a set for sell for $75. not sure what to think . i know alot of people run v-force. thanks

what would you recommend going up 2 on gearing. running stock now. front/rear sprocket???? thanks again!!!

holy crap!!! a +12 . you way over did it. ive got more mods than you and im only running a +6. im in the same boat,thinking of going 10 paddle or change gearing. if your going to drag go to a 8 inch rim,you'll float better on top end. my mods--- shaved head .30--timing plate---f.a.s.t. clutch---bored .40 over----+6 swingarm---shaved reed cages--skat haulers 22-10--8 8 paddle

heres another ? for you. how many of you guys are running 20's. 20's with a ten inch rim?? i didnt like them on my shee , thats why i went with a 22- 8 inch rim.

lol-lol!!! funny story, i put the +6 on for looks(kind of). i like how they look. plus my kfx 400 has stock swing arm and i cant keep it down,(even lowered the front and sit on gas tank. buddy had a shee just like mine and he couldnt keep his down so he went with a +6. so when i was putting mine together(bought it for $500 frame,motor and abunch of parts in boxes) i decidied to go ahead and get the +6. we dont have big dunes around here, we have river beds(tacky sand) and dirt/sand drag strips.went to little sahara,oklahoma acouple of months ago, dune sand very diffrent-wouldnt hook up for crap(either bike). sheefreak-- great info,thanks----- im running 22's and i really didnt even think about gearing. should have,geared down on my kfx for a better hole shot. thank all of you,this is why i like BHQ, great advice.

my buddy has a set of comp cut brats, they weight 9.5 with the rim. they are a 9 paddle. bad thing is comp cut.. u can see cord and they go flat in about 2-2.5 hours.

i start of in 2nd and spin till damn near 4th. i still want to be able to launch in 2nd. i just worry about bogging in 2nd.

ive bought 4 sets of a guy on e-bay. forgot his e-bay name. his e mail is [email protected] he's out of KC missouri. great guy!!! mine are stock size and look like the drag bars in the reply above this(chapparel). he charges$35 shipped. he may have 1 1/8.

i have stock jugs-.40 over.. lightened flywheel,head shaved .030 ,reeds cage shaved , cpi out of frame pipes, hot rod crank and a f.a.s.t. clutch. pretty much your basic set up. i have a +6 swing arm and more of a duner/drag set up . i ride alot on river sand bars and dirt/sand drag strips. i run a 22-10-8 8 paddle hauler. dirts not to bad but they spin alot of the line in the sand. my ? is do more people run a 10 or 8 paddle hauler on their shee's. i hate to buy some 10's and find out they bog. i know my shee will pull them ,if the sands soft it will spin all the way threw 2nd and hook in high rpm 3rd. sand/dirt spins but not as bad. i know they dont have the low end like a 4-stroke so i dont want to over paddle it.

just make sure you get a good bill of sale. if your worried about it dont by it. just buy it and ride it like you stole it!!! just kidding,, thats a good thing to do --check vin #'s

is that $50 for front shocks or all three?? what kind of shape are they in.

i have 1 of jeffs clutches and love it. my 350 pound buddy will drag racem it and still wount slip. i think it was $120 ish. worth everypenny.

whats best for sand drags ? a soft shock or hard? when i sit on mine it sits low. i wieght 180. i kind of like it, i also have a metal bar ive tried once or twice-- no give, ive almost beed thrown off. the tires felt like they bounced alittle 2. id like to have a marvin shaw ,but they are so high.

what kind of pipe should i use?

i need a new rear shock,all i do is dune and sand drag with my shee. whats a good short shock?? blaster???
