There is no top or bottom to the cages. Boyesen dual stage reeds dont use stops either. I got 3 yrs on my vf3's and the pedals are starting to wear. now I gotta pay 120 for replacement pedals compared to 50.00 for replacement pedals on my chariots wich also have 3 yrs on them (still in good shape) Just because they dont move as far.. dont meant they dont wear as fast. What happens is the reed tips wear from slaping the cage. Just my opinion. but. I think there is better opitons for reed cages on stockish motors.

21cc is safe and allows room for timing adjustments.. 20cc is a gamble without knowing the setup. By setup.. i mean base gaskets, jetting, quality of fuel and Dome design. Not all 20cc domes are the same.. some are more prone to deto then others. I ride around 600ft elevation. I typically use 21cc domes and a plate on setups that dont want a 50/50 mix of fuel.

Trick licks makes a adjustable shifter. try searching around for them. I didn't have any luck.. i know they're out there though.

There is ways to cut a star to make it easier on the up shifts and still keep it from jumping gears. Just post a pic of the star/drum you bought from me.

Just to add.. If your on a budget.. You dont need a full port job to run a 4mil. Most builders dont charge too much to correct the timings.. just sayin....
