  1. I would rather add weight to the flywheel.. easier to change out when the extra weight isn't needed. do you have pics of the grooved barnett basket?
  2. pics of the grooved barnett basket.
  3. I got a 2000 7.3 I have 3.73 gears. 4.88 seems like it would eat the fuel. All i have done to it so far is used a tuner and put in a K&N cold air intake. I'd like to do a turbo back exhaust soon. Pulls my 5th wheel great.
  4. What you get and what you ask for are 2 different things..
  5. Hard to beat tyson's deal right now.
  6. $35 shipped..
  7. hub driven spins with the inner hub.. its only driven when the clutch is disengauged.. basket driven mounts to the basket and is constantly moving since its driven by the crank. They operate differently since they ramp pressure in a different manor Thats about as detailed as i'm going to get on a keyboard.. someone else can elaborate farther.
  8. lol didn't realize it was there that long.. First I heard of it was about 3yrs ago. They have a Face book page I posted in the michigan drag racers thread
  9. havn't been there yet.. Its fairly new. I know some people who have raced there and they said it was nice. So its just 2nd hand info. But its some what close for us northern folk.
  10. just going by what i read.. I wasn't there so I really can't comment.
  11. I heard its a nice track.
  12. i thought hopper said the hub broke from the whoops/bumps at the start loading and unloading the motor.. perhaps I misunderstood.
  13. I actually know a bit about the multi-stage. Not a ton as I have no interest in buying one.. But all I've seen on the direct drive is the lil tiny pic and couldn't see how it operated and the description was pretty vague.. Which is why I asked. Multi stage lock ups are nothing new by anymeans..
  14. so whats the difference between this and the direct drive piece?
  15. I want a case saver made from a wet suit..... where can I buy them? Is this like a wrap or sleeve?
  16. I got 14yrs on my hinson (GYTR) and going strong. starting to see wear on the coating.. but not grooved yet. The first 7yrs were used in a XC Trail bike.
  17. I think at this point your only wanting to hear what you want to hear. You can spin a little bit of weight faster or spin a lot of weight slower.. either way. .your getting the same effect at the end. your trying to sell this as there is no trade offs to adding weight to the basket.. which simply isn't true. its exactly the same as adding weight to the fly wheel. only difference is you have to add a lot more weight on the basket to get the same effect. plain and simple. I agree adding weight has its place but it also has a cost. I'm done now.
  18. I disagree since the crank is directly driving the basket via gears. You can't slow down one without slowing down the other and vice versa. keep in mind that the basket is spinning slower then the crank. since its spinning slower it will store less energy. In short.. just for numbers sake.. if you add 1oz of flywheel weight.. its the same as adding 2lb on the basket.. they BOTH will affect the transmission and the crank.. the only difference is since the basket is spinning slower.. the increments in change affect it less. It has little effect on the "revving" or rate of acceleration because its not that big of a change even though the basket has 2-3 times more rotational mass.
  19. green, are you familiar with the piece that Direct drive makes?
  20. have you checked on direct drives time release lock up?
  21. I'd like to see something with a dry-fit type fabric. Simple is good. HQ logo front.. large HQ logo on back.
  22. my stock cylinder 350 makes about .25hp per cc Your cubs and cheetahs are out dated.
