  1. I guess i'm not really seeing the problem here either... If the guy wants to build a site and let people know about it here.. More power to him. Its not like he's making money off it... It is banshee related and I do believe the general discussion is "anything" banshee related isn't it? Starting to sound like PlanetSand around here anymore.. So if he wants to put the time and effort into his own site for his peeps on his side of the globe.. Rock on man!! Its not like its gonna stop people from coming to the HQ any less. I think the HQ has bigger problems to worry about then this guy trying to get a site up and going that's not going to affect the HQ in the slightest..
  2. starting probably about 9am and running all day untill they get finished..
  3. who's bringing the fire wood?? lol Lets hope it dries out intime for this weekend.. hows the forecast loolking down there?
  4. The Duncan exhaust was alot cheaper and I actually like it better then the GYTR.. So i'll keep with what I got.
  5. Toomey's are 2.5" The toomey spark arrestors may cost more.. but they fit ALOT better.. They snap in and replace the end cap rather then clamp down onto the silencer body.
  6. let us know what you find out Dave.
  7. What ever works Dave, I just thought it would suck for our crew if we were scatterd all around the lot. I'm shooting for 11am or so, My wife has a Doc apt in the AM then we're leaving after that.. I'm trying to get her to move the apt all together so I can get there sooner! lol Do you know if there bringing in grandstands? Lindsay, Any luck finding a Generator?
  8. I'll be bringin about 30 gallons.. So i should have some extra. Just need to find a way to get it out of the drum.... I'm not syphoning alky again... That was NOT COOL! lol I heard people were starting to bring trailors down Sunday.. I sent Rich a PM and asked him about camping spots and what not and he said that he'll be there thursday and start lining them up. I told him I'd call him then and get a better idea of whats going on. By the sounds of it, if we want to be next to one another then we'll have to let rich know when one of us get there and let them know how many is in our group.
  9. Or he could try fine tune with the air screws... Turn air screws .5 turn at a time and see if it clears upr. If he ends up at .5 turns from full in then you know it needs a bigger pilot.
  10. almost looks like you need a seatbelt on that rocket!!!
  11. I'm at sea level with T-5's and TDR single stage reeds and K&N pods. My jetting is 290 mains, needle 4th clip and 27 on the pilots.
  12. Alot of things can cause detonation. If the motor was boiling coolant, I'd start by looking at the cooling system since that will be the easiest. If that checks out.. do a leak down test .. a air leak can cause a motor to heat up and detonate also. A leak down really should be done to rule that out.. It would suck to put the new topend in and blow the motor up again from the same air leak..
  13. I've used a lockup on my old 421 setup without a overide trans and it shifted perfectly fine in the woods. The lockup just adds extra pressure to the pressure plate to keep the clutch pack from slipping. Usually needed in motors around 80hp and higher. When HP starts to get that high the HD springs can't quite hold the power. There is a few people making HD springs that can hold alot more power then your standard HD springs but the clutch pull would be a bitch. You could use a lockup with a hydro clutch but you probabaly wont be needing one and would be a waste of money (unless you want the look). You could probably get by using a good clutch kit and HD springs and not have slipping issues.
  14. What kind of silencers are those?
  15. probably isn't too bad.. If leak down and compression come back good.. Dbl check your impeller like you said. If them things all check out.. start'er up and run it.
  16. So does that mean I can start whoring around again?
  17. sounds like you got your bases covered.. but I'd also throw a leak down in there for shits and giggles to rule out a possible air leak.
  18. sorry.... I'll try not to be as big of a post tramp...
  19. Stay away from the pyramids.. Their over priced and don't perform as well as the V-force. I was on Duncan's support team awhile back so I got a good deal on them.. If i'm going to spend 220+ it would be the V-force. I found that dyno sheet on the drag ported 350 comparing reed cages. It gives a good idea on how they perform. But on the more mild builds they should be closer. The dyno is a lil old so i'm guessing its VF2's. the carbon techs are on stock ported cages.
  20. I haven't tried alot of pipes on my 450. Started off with the GYTR because at that time.. That was the ONLY exhaust made. But it wasn't bad. I use a DR Fatboy 4 now and I like it.. Can't tell you if its better then any of the other ones out there..
  21. I mapped it out with a marker.. Used a jig saw and cut about .5" away from the line.. then I used a wire wheel and sanded it up to the line.. then like 714 said.. I hit it with some sand papper to get the burrs off and smooth it out. Had it done in no time..
  22. Only go as big as you need to clean up the cylinder walls.. its going to depend on how bad the damage is..
  23. I like the Paul Turner Hi-revs for trails and faster riding. Tighter trails I prefer the Paul Turner Mid range pipes. Trinity Stage IV pipes are nice also.. Very similar in power to the T-5's but I like the stainless steel and the way the silencers mount up better. If you can the DMC 916 pipes.. them are nice too.
  24. Hinson and UPP sell cushions for the basket.
  25. If you dont run through mud.. I'd get rid of the air box and go to some K&N pods.. or if you do ride mud. get a pro-flow kit and get rid of the lid.. that should free up some power. Also could get a adjustable timing plate to bump timing up a bit and like you said, get a cool head with some 21cc domes to bump compression up ( That will still let you run pump gas.) . Also I didn't see reeds mentioned, If your still sporting the stock reeds, a good set of reeds will help out too. Porting is going to be the best bang but, you still got some to gain before you pull the cylinders and these mods would really help compliment the port job.
