  1. okay cool thanks a lot for everyones help
  2. okay so i might as well just have mine bored then and get new pistons what size do u recommend
  3. yeh i was quoted $500 just to bore out both cylinders which is prob bout $550-560US from yamaha im guessing ill be better off finding a specialty shop somewhere else. so if the ones i have are scratched then they need to be bored but if i had others that weren't scratched i would just need new pistons right
  4. yeh thats what i thought i dont know if its any different in australia but everyone is useless for information and stuff over here i have found this site more helpful then the local bike shop lol anyway so if i do it myself i just gotta get new/used jugs and get new pistons?
  5. im new to the quad bike and especially the banshee experience but i have recently purchased one however i believe it to have been "thrashed" so i took it down to my local yamaha outlet to have it serviced and they have found that it has be run with fried rings doing damage to my pistons and the damage has extended into the cylinders. the bike is all stock and they have told me the cost of fixing it is about $3000 now i would say i know nothing about these engines but to me this sounds absured when i look around on the internet the prices of new piston heads +kits is like $150 is it possible just to re-sleeve the cylinders and put new pistons in as i said i dont really no anything about engines so any help would be much appreciated
