  1. The 421 cub and the 465 cub are going to be the most popular setups for that type of riding.
  2. It actually dont take much time to explain.. I bet it took more time cutting and pasting that link then just helping the guy out. Cub, super cub, cheetah , Cheetah DM and the cheetah DMX are all aftermarket cylinders made by CP industries. These cylinders range in bore from 66mm to 84mm's. These cylinders are pretty much focused at the drag industry. CP cylinders are pretty much the most popular of all the aftermarket cylinders. The Twister cylinders are made from Billet as apposed to the casted CP cylinders.. again they have a wide range in bore sizes. You got the small block, big block and the sniper cylinders. The T-rex cylinder is one of the original aftermarket cylinders. It used powervalves. Kind of outdated. I'm not very familar with these setups. Someone might have more info on them. The rotax engines are cylinders pulled off a snowmobile and the cases are modified to accept them.. Also called a "cranker" or "crankenstien"..
  3. Snop has done alot of dyno testing on low-mid setups using both carbon tech reeds and the dual stage boyesen..
  4. The dual stage reeds are a all around design.. The single stage reeds will focus more on the low-mid since thats what they were designed for.. Most cases the dual stage reeds are the better choice, depending on what your looking to do with them. Also.. keep in mind that the epoxy reeds will not last as long as the carbon reeds when looking at the price. I usually replaced my epoxy reeds every season. I can usually go a lil more then 2 seasons on the carbon reeds.
  5. carbon tech low tension.
  6. Maybe check WSM pistons. They might have something available.
  7. So... that means you ruffly gained 3hp from the switch.. the timing advance and compression was probably good for 3-4hp by itself. Calling someout out like that is kinda a bold statement not knowing what they have.. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you'll probably end up needing more then 81.45 hp though..
  8. i know it right? Them things probably weighed 10lbs more too! lol
  9. 235# wet and ready to rock.
  10. Heat wouldn't be my primary concern.. But.. The thin skirts on the sleeves would be..
  11. That oil is designed specifically for injector use.. It can be premixed.. but.. it was designed for injection. H1R is good oil.. We use it at the dealer on all the new machines unless the customer specifies a oil of choice.
  12. Your not going to beable to bore the cyclinders to 78mm... you can resleeve your cylinders with big bore sleeves that start around 67-68mm.. I dont recommend this due to the decrease in transfer area.. and to fit a 10mil stroke in stock cylinders would require a resleeve and some headwork. only way to get a 611cc 10mil is either buy a DM or twister top end.
  13. Why wont this jackass do the world a favor...
  14. This poser isn't going to do shit for you. He lies about the deal.. then expects you to trust him agian.. This is how he deals. I wouldn't send shit back to him.. you might not get yours back and you'd be out alot more.
  15. Did you see the pistons that he claimed to be "good usable pistons"?? I should show the pictures of them.. I've seen pistons out of a 10yr old top end that looked better.. This guy needs to go... again.... Its the same old song and dance from this punk.
  16. that would make sense Dave, So the light version is the updated "standard style".. Probably why he didn't mention it. He's made quite a few changes since the original slingshot. If anyone wants to trade a Light slingshot for a undercover.. let me know. I got maybe 30 passes on it. If your in the market for a slingshot.. I'd suggest the orginal GP slingshot. He'll stand behind it 100% and I dont think you'll get that kind of support from the others.. Kevin helped me out HUGE with mine.. Definitely one of the best guys in the industry.
  17. Whats the 3rd model? kevin only told me about and gave me pricing on 2? The Light version and the under cover.
  18. Yep, That inner plate pushes on the clutch pack. That inner plate can travel around 3/16" to 1/4" and the balls will still retain in their channels. I havn't actually measured it yet.. In theory they could wedge themselves I guess.. But as long as your with in spec on your clearance you shouldn't have that problem. Yeah there is 2 styles. one that mounts under a stock cover and one that needs a modded cover. With the under cover version.. The inner plate is the pressure plate.. So the lockup pushes directly onto the clutch pack rather then apply pressure through the stock pressure plate. So the stock pressure plate is no longer needed with that style. I think Dave has some pics of his slingshot.
  19. Thats correct.. The outerplate does not move. The balls are forced up the ramp into the outer plate.. and that pushes the the inner plate (the one the balls sit in) onto the pressure plate or onto the clutch pack depending on what model your using.
  20. I was refering to all alky motors... Not just mine. (atleast all that I've dealt with) They're not as tempermental as gas engines. I've dealt with a few alky setups besides my own.
  21. I like my banshee the way I like my women... Naked!!
  22. That busa got beat by a 16mil banshee... This was before CP and twister came out with their new topends. So that busa (1300+cc's) got beat by a motor half the size.. Hmmm not very impressive IMO.. The fasest bikes in the country are banshee based.. thats a fact.. Only thing faster right now is a 1000hp nitro burning laydown. And.. yes I do.. I've already stated my opinion on this subject a previous post.
  23. Actually.. There were lots of things that needed changed.. but they didn't. They didn't have to change them since.. The market wasn't as competitive as it is now.. In todays market.. if you dont make changes.. you fall behind and loose sales. How long will the banshee be king of drags?? Until a powerplant becomes available with a better power to weight ratio.. And thats not looking like its gonna happen anytime soon since 2-strokes got put on the back burner. Next closest thing at this point is a few select snowmobile motors.
  24. You have to market towards the majority... Keep in mind that the banshee was the only performance sport quad produced since 92ish.. until honda released the 400ex.. That was what? 99'? Raptor was released in 01' LTZ400 shortly after. YFZ450 in 04. The market got flooded with new performance quads in a span of 5yrs.. Ofcourse you'll see a decline in advertising for the banshee.. I can assure you the banshee aftermarket is bigger then ever.. You know the aftermarket is strong when you can build a complete banshee engine from aftermarket parts.. You can thank the drag industry for that... Production of OEM parts usually last 10-20 yrs after production stops. Depending on the how popular the model was.. being that the bashee was made for over nearly 20yrs without changes.... They'll still make parts for it for ALONG time. I'm not worried about it going anywhere anytime soon.
  25. sure you can!! just
