yes they are different , you need a round plug , and the 98 is a square plug , 87-94 are the same 95-96 are the same 97-02 are the same and 03-06 have a brake light , but the connections are the same

i went with 152 main 50 pilot and air screw 1 1/2 turns out , it pull strong but runs like shit at lower rpm's when it gets warm , ran fine in beginning of ride , after 10 minutes it stated bogging and bubbling at just after idle , let it cool down and it was fine again untill it warmed up and it did it again .now im stumped ::

WHATS MORE FUN A BANSHEE OR MOTORCYCLE IN NEW ENGLAND?
woodro77 replied to peterlocal22's topic in General Banshee Discussion
i had a 2001 honda cbr 929 that i bought brand new , i sunk about 5000 grand into it, it was very fast and fun to ride , i bunch of my friends had them too . it was alot of fun going out with a group , after a while it got a little boring , i would say i rode it every day when i first got , then it turned into once a week , then every once in a while , ended up i wouldnt ride it too often , fun to take to work at first , then i wanted to drink coffee during the ride so that ended . they are very dangerous , you have to be careful , i have a wife and a house and maybe soon a couple kids to take care of . scares the hell out of the wife , so it had to go. i had alot of good times on it , it was very fast , one of the fastest of that time, (had a lot of motor work ) i did 191 mph on it . and the fact that i paid 16-17 thousand for it with all the work and i sold it 2 or 3 years later for a little over 5000 , they dont hold there value , every year the street bikes are faster and lighter . i still race motor cross on my dirtbike , and have my banshee , thats all the thrill i need for now . i had a lot of good times on my street bike . i road my friends new R1 the other day and its the fastest street bike i ever rode , it does almost 100 mph in first gear , :woot: -
i paid 300 just to get my jugs bored with new pistons and gasket set . so i would say its a good deal , if the port work is good.

the 06-07 rev 1000 rpm high and ar a bit faster , my brother has a 06 and with the hrc kit and its pretty fast , alot faster then i thought it would be , when you ride it it doesnt feel that fast ,because of the power delivery , pulls through the hale gear . he gives my banshee a run for my money , i got k+n no lid, trail port , 30 mm pwk carbs , v force 3 , +4 timing advance , when we race its very close. i beat him by 1/2 a bike length . stock 450's i beat easy, but with a few bolt on parts really wakes those 4 pokes up

how do you know you are too rich on your pilot ? i have 30mm pwk's and had 52 pilot , it ran ok , i didnt need to choke it to start it , even when it was cold, it got a little warmer out now , so i dropped 1 size on the pilot and the main , it seems to run the same , idles a little better now and i have to choke it when she's cold , starts on the first kick . top end feels the same , maybe a little stronger . but i also changed from fmf fattys to toomey t-5's when i rejetted i guess what im asking is what are some signs of being to rich on the pilot jet ? how do you know you got the pilot right ? if i was lean on the main it would break up at wot ? can going down i size on the main put me in danger of going lean ? (seems to run slightly stronger drpping it 1 size ) i know i have to do a plug chop but dont have the space to do it , plan on it this week.

im not sure how you do that , but call paypal , they will tell you , 1-888-221-1161 ,

how much did you pay for it , post some pics

so did mine , i went from 52 pilot , 155 main , ,, today i put a 50 , 152 main air screw 1 1/2 out and it seemed to run better , idled a little better and rev-ed crisper , the bod just after idle is gone . im going to ride saturday and let you know how it works out . they say these carb are set up for your mods but from what i have seen from everybody that has them got the same jetting , 150 , 155 , 160 ,52 , 50 , some people even had strokers and drag ported and got the same jetting as me,

heat it with a torch , get some visegrips on that bitch and it will come right out

yes it seems like the power band is shorter (hard to describe ) with the stock carbs it felt like they pulled a little longer , with the 30mm's it feels falls off the pipe a little faster , im not complaining though , they definitely make more power , with stock carbs when i race my brother ( trx 450 , pipe , cam , k+n , ) it s fast , he would beat me by a bike length with my stock carbs , but with the new carbs i beat him by a bike length , so im happy , i still think its not dailed in perfect . has a small bog at 1/4 throttle

why would a 88 not have a vin ? you said it doesnt have j arms . you can tell the year by the engine number , look in the front of a chiltons repair manual , they list engine numbers and what year they were built , if you post the engine # i could tell you the year.

i dont understand that one , am i missing something ?

girl friend = buys her own wife with full life insurance plan = drag banshee with cut brake lines and stuck throttle
-
i going to buy some more pilot jets , i going to try the 150 main and 50 pilot tonight ,
-
32-1 , why would they send that big of a pilot ? it would idle ok , if it was 3-4 sizes too big you think it would have trouble idling right ?

hey guys , i bought the oko copy of the 28pwk's bored out to 30mm , bought them when it was cold, came prejetted (supposedly ) came with 155 main 52 pilot in the carb ,needle in middle, came with extra jets 160 , 150 ,mains and 50 pilot , 30 degrees outside and it ran good , rode it again at 42 degrees outside and it ran good but had a little bog just off idle , now its getting warmer out and i just want to know what you guys think is a good base line jetting to start with , i had fatty pipes but now changing to toomey t-5 's ,what do you guys think. my mods are k+n no lid , toomey t-5's , slight port (trail port nothing crazy) +4 timing advance , v-force 3's , compression 140 psi , im at sealevel . i know i have to do a plug chop but i have no where near my house to run it , took the fmf fattys off to put on t-5's and noticed a little puddle of oil in the flange of pipe , is this a sign of being rich , thanks for any help guys
