  1. Shorter swingarm is real good idea on the hills for me , i like the stability , I'm not really having a problem with traction , I just wasn't sure if this was an item i needed to consider purchasing ? I think im going to pass on it and spend it on something else though , thanks for the input guy's !!!
  2. Ok that makes some sence , we're mainly in red clay and hard pack , not much sand here . we both run mud machine's most of the time and thats probably why i dont see much a difference in traction.
  3. We do a ton of hill climing here in West Virginia and my budy runs an AMP Link on a +3 swingarm and swears buy it ? I also am running a +3 swingarm but with no AMP Link and have riddin his and i swear i cant see the difference ? He clames that his AMP Link is like putting traction bars on a car ? Do I need to consider one of these things ? What exactly are they for ? traction? I really cant see what the purpose is ? It doesn't seem to be doing anything...
  4. I dont suppose you strained the oil when you split the case ? The culprit could be layin in the bucket of old oil?
  5. The claw washer and sir clip popped off my idler gear behind the clutch basket once and made a shity noise that sounded like a piston gone haywire! dont rule this area out..
  6. quart and a half should be fine then , i over filled mine once and it didnt turn to hot ...
  7. quart and a half, did you pre-soak the clutches?...
  8. Never ran the XC's and am not to sure on the difference but if i could or was only purchasing one set per year and was in hard pack and fields I'd have to go with maxxis razors!
  9. somewhere around top fuel funny car and gee i think i needed a seat belt ? hope your not planning on ridding in the woods with that ?
  10. I had this problem also , the only way i could get it off was to take it to a buddys auto shop and put it in a vise and heat the hub only !
  11. I've seen this fixed with a small and simple tach weld ? It'll get you buy until you figure you need a new shaft.....
  12. I'd say it depends on the type of ridding your going to be doing ? we do alot of long trails so it has been a must for me , however if you got any guy's that ride utility's just buy a flat gas tank and let your budy carry it! i recently took mine off due to the clearence .
  13. cool thanks guys ! that put my mind at ease , ive always worried about this not wanting to replace the cases that would suck , we had my buddies motor welded back together , stil runs fine.
  14. what you have there is called a claw washer , it goes on the shaft in the picture with the gear ! you can get the part at your dealer , there only a few bucks, however you will also need to purchase a sir clip that goes over the claw washer to hold it on . also i would highly recomend purchasing a new idler gear (thats the one in the picture) the brass on the inside wears out , the gear cocks sidways and POOF !! thats what caused this to malfunction! the gear is 30 to 40 bucks but you will want one because it will do this again .
  15. I've been ridin for years and have never busted a case yet , but I have a friend that busted his case just behind the kick starter! I've been told over the years that a hard tumbble backwards will somehow bust the case and its linked to the idler gear? MY guy at the shop confirmed this and said you can remove a tooth on some gear to cure the problem ? what gear ? and is this true ?
  16. Pipes !! I've ran FMF Fatties and pro circuit platinum's with 304 silincers and needless to say my FMF's are still hangin on the wall..
