  1. I pulled my arms off today too. I started off with this method but still needed to hit the ball joint to break it free. But what I did was screw a nut half way on to the threads then screw a bolt into the other half and tightened it up. This way you're hitting the end of the stud and the threads are safe. Still needed the impacts around where the tapered part goes through. I've got all but the upper left off, that bolt is frozen solid inside the tube. Might be a grinder job.
  2. Sorry, I know some of their material is crap isn't it? Yeah gonna go for something decent. Had my heart set on Alba's but a bit iffy about these dodgy bush materials. Can someone confirm?
  3. Yeah they look good but I really want to go to long travels eventually. That's why I like the Alba's. But I might be better off getting some dedicated long travel arms like Lone Star and running 450R shocks straight up I suppose. Now I've ripped the Shee down some more, going full frame powder coat now. It wasn't in the original plan but I'll look back and regret not doing it if I don't.
  4. Oh, I don't mean on here (BHQ) I mean locally. LoL.
  5. They could almost throw them here to where I am. A lot of stuff coming out of China these days. Some crap some ok. Might give them a go and if they're junk off load them here. Would have to be an improvement over stock wouldn't you think?
  6. Anybody used these? They seem like they're new to the market. Cheap as hell but made in China. Although they look pretty good in the pics, might be worth a try. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-A-arms-2-1-yamaha-banshee-YFZ350-YFZ350-350-/280973542389?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item416b5403f5
  7. Hey all. I'm planning to upgrade to +2 arms finally. I like the Alba's because of a couple of reasons. They're gull winged for a bit of extra clearance on the trails and you can run them with either stock length shocks or long travel which I plan on upgrading to in the future. But I've read online and heard here locally of some problems with the bushing material and them wearing out really quickly. I've also heard that the pin which the bushes run on is kinda rough. Has anybody heard of this or experienced the problems? Are they doing running changes to fix any problems? Are you happy with you Alba's? As I'm pretty much doing a full rebuild on the Shee I need to keep the costs down but I don't want any junk either. I'm just looking for good value for money and something that I can improve on later down the track.
  8. Maybe he's got lots of Vaseline...
  9. Ha ha! Yeah I know of Dirtydownunder. I haven't spoken to him in person but I have on here. Yes BHQ is the place for Banshee advice that's for sure. These will be future plans, I've rebuilt the engine now. But except for the pipes I've tried to build it to allow for later upgrades. I really do appreciate the advice on here though. Everything I've done to it so far I've researched on here first. Thanks.
  10. Yeah that's on the other side of the world from here, probably not that cost effective. I think I'll just settle for where it's at right now and maybe some better carbs. Probably best to work on the suspension next like people have said. Thanks for the advice everybody.
  11. if not cubs, what would be more suitable? Or just some sort of trail port on stock jugs? Yeah probably do the suspension before then anyway. What are Alba +2" like? I like the idea of being able to run the stock shocks then upgrade them later. Any other suggestions?
  12. Yeah true. Won't be spending much more on it for a while though, this is the first top end rebuild it's had. I'm half way through it so a bit late for stroker cranks and port jobs. I might just get some Alba +2 A-arms for it next and that will do for a couple of years.
  13. Next build will probably be stroked and cubs or something anyways. Bottom end is already nearly 8 years old now.
  14. Yeah I guess you're right, it's not about numbers. It gave me a buzz before so it should go even better now right? I couldn't go to a 4 stoke anyway, just don't enjoy them as much. I just thought it would put out a bit more than that. I will later on down the track put some PWK's on it but I really like the T6's which is why I have stuck with them. If it eats my friends piped and tuned Raptor with 50.5hp I'll be happy. I guess eventually I will need to go to something more suitable, any suggestions?
  15. Ok, so I've made 5hp. Woot! Best cut my losses and get rid of this thing before I spend too much money on it.
  16. So you're telling me after I've spent all this time and money it will be putting out about the same as a stock Raptor? It used to keep up with a 48hp Raptor with only pipes, reeds and 280 jets.
  17. Just wondering if anybody could tell me what this combo should be making. Is anybody running a similar setup? Stock size bore, stock porting, Wiseco Pro-Lites, Chariot head with 21cc domes, +4 timing plate, Toomey T6's, V-Force 3's, 320 main jets for lid off, Pro Design billet manifolds and Pro-Flow foam filter intake running 98 octane.
  18. Dude that is sweet, thanks for posting that pic! That's what I've been looking for. I'll order the Pro-Design ones though as they're available for stock carbs.
  19. I was wondering if you could just ditch the engine side of the billet halves so you bolt the carb half straight up. I've got the Chariots with internal crossover but I'm thinking of going to the Pro Design intake manifold for V Force reed cages. (no boost bottle). To me they are a simple setup with less chance of air leaks. They look to be individual intake manifolds but I can't tell if they have a hole in the top for the stock crossover or they are just blank. I'd prefer if they are blank, does anybody know? Here's a link - http://www.bansheedepot.com/proddetail.asp?prod=22-5772
  20. A bit of an update, I'm thinking of running Pro-Design intake manifolds for V Force reed cages (No boost bottle). I'm assuming this will increase the low speed air velocity and give a bit more bottom end. Will this require the 27.5's rather than stock manifolds? Or should I just get a set of Moose Racing polyurethane ones? I do a lot of trail riding so I want to smoothen the transition from low to high a little bit.
  21. Thanks guys. Got some 27.5's on the way so I can have a play. What would determine whether I need them or not? As in how will it feel if it needs more fuel on the bottom? A slight hesitation/flat spot or something? Lean bog?
  22. Probably should add that I'm running the Toomey needles.
  23. Hey all. I've been trawling through everybody's jetting combos and I'm wondering if I'll need to go to richer pilots. I've done a top end rebuild, Pro-Lites, Chariot head 21cc domes, T6's, VF3's, Pro-Flow foam filter with lid off, +4 timing. Elevation is 1000' and air temp around 70°F. I'm going to 320 mains, I used to run a vented lid. But do I need to go to 27.5 pilots? Also is stock 25? I see some people with similar mods still running stock pilots.
  24. We can still buy brand new Banshees here in Australia. They are still exported to countries where they aren't affected by emission standards... Yet...
  25. +1, that's what I did and it worked for me...
