Theres a lock washer that goes behind that nut. Make sure the tab on the washer is bent over part of the nut and it wont come loose. Similar kind of washer that goes behind the clutch basket nut.

If its leaking, in most cases it will be your float hight is set to low. What carbs? Pull the switch off and check to see if all wires are connected and no frayed or corroded and start from there.
