  1. No no no! You don't want to put it in your tranny. Put it in your gas. It will give you 300 hp. Oh boy!

    banshee seat

let me know and shoot me some prices. Thanks.
  3. Yeah, Lastlegwarrior and I are gonna go broke on this trip, but it will be so worth it. Banshee is getting a port, a rebuild (new pistons), sand tires, new rims, maybe new carbs, who knows how much in gas. And the Raptor is getting a 686 bore, with a JE 11.1 piston, Stage 2 Hotcam with valve springs, sand tires, rims, and new headers. Now as far as other costs like food and fuel for the Duramax. Yeah, its gonna be rediculous, but amazing all the same. Wont be long now!!! Cant wait!!!
  4. I'm spending so much money just for this trip. Its gonna be good. Can't wait.
  5. Well to be honest with you, I'm going to guess about 1600 miles from California. Thats just a guess though. Since you have to drive half way across the country to get from Little Sahara to Cali, its difficult to make an accurate calculation. Little Sahara's in Oklahoma bud.
  6. YEAH!!! Its gonna be a friggin blast. Lastlegwarrior and I are down for the 23-26. I don't really care where we stay as long as we have this huge Banshee HQ group. It'll be awesome. We are even fixing up both of our quads for this trip.
  7. Ok. Here is another question. First off where in the hell can I buy that Wiseco 11.1 kit? And second, do I have to run any higher octane than 93?
  8. Even though I'm going to get a 450, I've decided I'm going to go ahead and do some silly stuff to the Raptor. So here is what I'm thinking. Keep it cheap, keep it simple. I'm going to do a top end rebuild on it, just because it needs it, including, piston, rings, new cam chain, gaskets, etc. Now while I'm in there, I'm going to throw in the Wiseco 666 11.1 kit. So that right there takes care of the new piston and rings while giving me a little tiny bit of bottom and faster revs. Now I'm also going to put in a new Hotcam. But..... should I put in a stage 1 or stage 2. I do some hare scrambles and the occasional open class mx race. But mainly I do a lot of aggressive trail riding and screwing around. (And I like to outrun everyone too of course) So I still want to have plenty of bottom and mid range. Now I know stage 2 is quite a bit more top than stage 1 (which I do ride in higher RPM's usually), but I still want to be able to go slow and have fun in the woods and stuff like that when I need to. So which cam should I get? The other question is what type of valve springs should I get. I thought I would get some opinions. Besides I won't be able to keep up with Lastlegwarrior on the shee with the new Gorr Port and rebuild its getting. So I gotta do something. Thanks
  9. Well, I already figured that the oil is leaking passed the guides while it sets. Yes, I know that the Banshee needs to be rebuilt too. LOL But I didn't know about the compression release. Thats huge. Thanx for the info. As far as my decision. I'm going to go ahead and rebuild it and I think while I'm in there I'm going to throw in a new Stage 1 Hot Cam and a Wiseco 666 11.1 kit. What do you guys think of that setup. I'm going to get a 450 next fall, but I figure I will do something to the Raptor for now. As far as the Banshee goes. Don't be sad. Its getting new carbs, a rebuild, and a Gorr Woods port. Thanks guys
  10. Ok, I don't mean to bug anyone with 4 stroke questions but since this is the best source I thought I would go ahead and ask. My friend and I rode all day on Sat. and Sun. When we got done, we decided to do a compression test on the Banshee. It came up to 115 psi in one cylinder and about 110 in the other. So not too bad. Then I decided to test the Raptor. Well, we looked up the specs and at 9.2.1 compression, its suppose to be 180 psi from the factory. Well I knew it wouldn't be that good, but 160 would've been okay. So we set it up and held the throttle open and turned it over. It read 90. Yeah 90. Now if that was really the case it shouldn't even run. And if it did it would be hard as hell to start, but its not. Plus it still runs good. Now we thought that maybe the threads were different for the compression tester, but it still seemed to fit okay. Some of its other symptoms are that when you first start it, it smokes terrible. It looks like WW3 coming out of the pipe. But then it goes away and doesn't burn anymore oil while you ride it (even after running it super hard). Its probably a valve guide clearance issue, but I'm not sure. Then there is the solution that always scares me: CRACKED HEAD!!! AHHH!!! But I don't think so. I was wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences with the Craptor or knows any other solutions to the compression reading and the oil burning problem. Thanks Everyone
  11. You know where Columbia is on I-70? Its about 20 min. east of Columbia.
  12. There are several people from around Columbia, MO going riding this weekend. We are going to ride at Fulton. If anyone is interested, let me know.
  13. Cool, we will probably be down there around that time too. At least thats what we are kind of planning on. We will probably be bringing like 4 or 5 people, so that will be fun. But one of them might be on a Rubicon. LOL
  14. Hey quick question from Lastlegwarrior and I. I haven't had time to read all of the replies, what is the date everyone has agreed on. Cause we can't wait to ride. But we need to know how long we have to buy tires.
  15. Definately a 67' Shelby Cobra. Except with a supercharged LS7 in it. And then a set up that has a good suspension and handles well. So you know. It would be more like a 67' Chevy Cobra Z06.
  16. Dude, how about you trade me the YFZ for a really delicious ham sandwich. Now... I know you aren't getting the money you want out of it, but it would be a great ham sandwich. I could even make you 2. Sorry I don't know what this has to do with anything.
  17. The Banshee will forever be the Banshee, so I'm going to have to say as long as I get like a bowl of soup or a really sweet hat with it, its fine with me. Mods fix everything anyway.
  18. I'm just looking for a Shee seat in good condition and with a good latch. Mine kinda broke off. I would like to have a black one, but any seat will work. Thanks.
  19. Hey, I'm looking for a good black Banshee seat with a good latch on it. Just wondering if anyone had one. Thanks
  20. Cool. Well then, never mind. His pics look almost identical to mine. Good to know I didn't do anything wrong. LOL
  21. Ok, I know lots of people want the answers on how to do the YFZ shock conversion thing. I have a full list of instructions and pictures. PM me if you need help.
  22. Yah man welcome to HQ. I've been apart of HQ for about 2 years now and its definately the best place on the net. I lost my last account so I had to start over on my posts and stuff which makes me sad, but hey, it doesn't matter cause everybody's cool here. As far as parts, just start asking people what you need and get different opinions, always worked for me.
  23. Well Mr. Hyatt. I pretty much got my ass kicked racing the shee, but let me tell you, I didn't really worry about it after I got hit by a car that night. But I guess its ok, cause the Rap Daddy screwed that car up and did nothing to my quad. LOL. I'm pretty sure, that we should go kill Tim anyway for being a dumbass. But as far as losing the race. Long live the Banshee as the king of speed. However, at the end of the track, at least I can stop and make a sharp turn without dying! BURN!!!! Nah, just kiddin, there is no better combo for tearing up Finger Lakes. Can't wait till Saturday. Ride Hard.
  24. Lastlegwarrior and I live in Columbia. We ride all of the time and travel a lot to. I think we are planning to go to little Sahara with Locogato in the spring.
  25. I have first hands experience on the axle and shocks. The axle is 2 in. narrower, but you can turn your wheels over and get some of that back. It fits fine in the housing. As for the YFZ shocks. They have to be on the lowest compression settings, and you have to grind the upper mounds and you have to grind the a-arms. If you want full detail, I can send you pictures and instructions.
