  1. Damn, if it stays that cheap I'll get it. Im sure I could find somebody to help me fit the shee motor in it.
  2. Yeah, he's right, except the part about the friction plates, you DO need those. You won't go too far with just steels. :baseball_w00t:
  3. Stock suspension isn't bad on a mx track, provided you stick the landings. You come up short or long, and you will find the limits pretty quick. It also isn't the best in the whoops, and will lend itself to early arm pump. But it is prety capable nonetheless.
  4. You don't need them. I believe the official reason for them is "to eliminate clutch chatter".
  5. Wheres the banshee?
  6. I agree. While they say those are long travel, you aren't actually getting any more travel you know right? A 3/4" longer shock will do absolutely nothing more than cost you more money cuz they get to call it long travel. While Roll stuff is nice, its overpriced. Buy a set of somebody elses a-arms, and get a pair of normal shocks, and save yourself a few hundred bucks.
  7. I can't find it now, but Arai used to have a letter from a guy that was in a crash on his crotch rocket at way over 100mph on the interstate. Doctors gave him something like a 5% chance of living, but he made it. He hit the guard rail head first, and the size of the dent in that helmet was just scary. But he lived.
  8. Ive been looking around for good prices on some floats, so I know how much money I need to save, and I came across this auction for a set for $500. I don't have the money right now or I'd already have bought them, but I figured somebody might be interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FOX-FLOAT-S...1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. Pretty much any paint you use is not going to last forever. I just went to the auto parts store, and found a spray paint that came close, and put a few coats on the bare spots. If you want it to last, you need to have the whole frame powdercoated.
  10. Thats a little longer than stock (which is 14.25 or 14.75 I forget). Not enough to make any difference though.
  11. None that I know of that I would trust. You're gonna have to send it somewhere, but shipping for just the cylinders isn't bad at all.
  12. To me it seems like he'll probably want too much money, especially if he has a buy it now of 975. A-arms are a-arms, and theres plenty out there that will perform every bit as good. Although if you could get them for less than $600 Id go for them.
  13. Okay, is it just me, or is the time on the board messed up. Im on the east coast, and to get the right time displayed, I have to set GMT -3. Even with the daylight savings time options, it doesn't fix it. Not really anything big, just thought Id mention it.
  14. Throw some pics up there so we know what you're talking about. Most people here haven't seen the inside of a shock.

  16. Don't know how many of you heard about it yet ( I haven't seen any posts on here), but the WPSA got their atv mx series off the ground lately, and the series is airing on ESPN2. Next race is today at 1:00. The first one was last weekend, and they did an awesome job with it.
  17. Yeah, you K&N people can have them. Maybe on a car, but not anything that goes through as much dust as a quad. I've changed too many peoples K&N filters and seen all the dust on the inside of their intake for me to ever trust one of those. Foam won't let a thing through. And I've tried super tacky oils before (Bel Ray, even brake cleaner won't get that stuff off your hands), and finally switched to PJ1 in the spray can. Works just as well, really easy to put on, and it comes off really easy with their spray on cleaner.
  18. 50/50 mix of water and vinegar to clean out a cooling system.
  19. The first episode I saw I thought it was alright. The second was lame. I haven't seen a third. Although I do know they are going to focus on cars, no more bikes. Which means no quads for sure.
  20. http://www.durhamtown.com/ Miles upon miles of trails, 5 tracks (2 kids tracks). To say the least its an awesome place to ride. The average weekend day is probably close to 1000 people.
  21. I haven't seen a 1/4 mile strip yet that didn't time you at the 1/8 too. Most people when they run here with quads will get to the 1/8 and then let off. They still get timed for the whole 1/4, but whats the point when you aren't accelerating any more?
  22. 4+1 offset rims, and you're only 46" wide, and you will get less feedback from the tires (puts the center line of the tires closer to the ball joints). Shoulld make it a little easier to turn.
  23. I have an aunt and uncle up there (Marquette), nice part of the country, but waaay too much cold and snow.
  24. Wow, imagine that, a criminal running from the police might get hurt I understand what you mean, and it sucks when the only areas to ride are illegal, but thats the law. Too many landowners have been sued from idiots that hurt themselves and try to blame it on someone else. Durhamtown Plantation anybody? Some kid that hadn't ever hit a MX jump decided he could hit a freestyle ramp. I've seen that landing to that ramp, and that pile of dirt is 20 ft high (think how how that ramp would throw you). Kid kills himself, and yet the parents say its not his fault or theirs, its Durhamtowns. Someone that had signed a waiver, still sued, still cost that place a ton of money, and nearly got it shut down. Now think about what the company whose property you're riding on is thinking. They don't want to be held liable. Break the law if you must, but I won't feel sorry if some overzealous cop runs you over. (Man if me 10 years ago read this, I would hit myself)
  25. Even better: White widow + ak-47 = White russian (reaaalllly good shit)
