  1. The haulers really do hook up like nothing else, but they don't turn quite as well as a set of sand stars. It just all depends on if you want the v-paddles or straight paddles.
  2. I would actually recommend getting rid of that crap. I was out riding with a guy who got a rock stuck between the ring wheel and the rim. It locked the front tire up, threw him over the handle bars, and ended up with him getting a trip to the hospital.
  3. Dirt wheels is ok. The only thing I don't like about it, is that they seem to really overhype the quads made by whatever manufacturer is lining their pockets that month.
  4. I still would like to be that kind of engineer. It seems like it would be a pretty decent job. You either go forward or backwards, no real steering involved. Would be pretty tough to get lost, and you ALWAYS have the right of way. I'm sure there's got to be more to it than that, but it sounds pretty good.

  6. Do you have to install a battery to run this thing, or will it run off just your stock stator?
  7. Are you talking about the crossover tube between the intake boots, or the choke tube running between the carbs? If you are talking about the crossover tube between the intake boots, you shouldn't need to run it, since there is already a crossover built into the intakes. If you are talking about the choke tube that runs between the carbs, then the answer is yes, you will need to run that.
  8. Yugo and LeCar have products all over the world too, but I don't think that qualifies them as innovators. In all honesty, the guy's lockup may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I'm still not gonna buy it. With those balls slinging around in there, it looks like it's just a timebomb waiting to go off.
  9. Yeah, one of the dealerships around here was trying to sell the gasgas and the husaberg quads a few years ago, but they were special order only. I don't think they actually ever had one hit the showroom floor.
  10. The inline water coolers will drop your temp a few degrees, but not enough to make any kind of major difference.
  11. I wouldn't call a banshee a mechanic's nightmare by any means. Banshees are probably about the easiest quads to work on. Parts for them are easy to get, and when you do have to work on them, they are usually much cheaper to fix than a four stroke. As far as reliability, as long as you take care of your shee, it's usually a pretty reliable ride. As far as if you should get one or not, really depends on you. What kind of riding do you plan on doing? The banshees are still kings in the sand, and can be setup to do pretty much whatever else you want them to, but if you want to do something like MX, I would look into getting one of the new four strokes.

  14. The oil leak sounds like it could probably just be a blown crank seal. Is the bike all stock? Does it have pipes or anything? The way you describe it, I wouldn't pay more than $1500-2000
  15. It never ceases to amaze me, but there are still alot of people out there that when they think of atv's they think of the big 4x4 utility quads. They just don't realize that there are sport quads out there, and they don't realize that yes, they are fast. The last time I went and watched the midnight drags at the dragstrip, there was a couple of guys out there running atv's, one on a YFZ 450 and the other on a KFX 400. There were a few guys sitting a couple rows down from me that I could hear making smartass comments about the "idiots" out there on the four wheelers. It was very tempting to tell the dumbass rednecks making the comments that I would have mine at the strip the next weekend, and that I'd be more than happy to run against whatever hunk of shit they drove, and take whatever money they were stupid enough to put down on the race.

  17. The first thing I would do, is whack those front fenders. After that, I'd look into getting some supension.
  18. The whole deal with naming everything a raptor is kinda annoying. Take the raptor 350 for example. We all know damn well it's pretty much just a warrior with different plastics, why not still call it a warrior???
  19. Pollution issue aside, if they come out with a 450cc fuel injected 2 stroke, especially if it's a twin cylinder, and I'd be waiting in line at the stealership to get one.
  20. You should probably be ok running the K&N in the sand without the outerwear, but I still wouldn't take a chance. It's always nice to have that little extra insurance, and outerwears much cheaper than a new top end.
  21. Not being broke all the time as a banshee owner takes alot of self control. It's usually not so much spending money to fix stuff that's broke, but spending money to make it go faster. With all the different go fast goodies that are available for a banshee, it's very easy to spend lots of $$$$$. As far as the reliability, banshee really are much more reliable than alot of people give them credit for. As long as you make sure you take care of your shee, it's usually a fairly reliable machine. Now, about those 400ex's and z400's beating banshees.......The day I start getting beat to shit by 400ex's and Z400's is the day I buy a "for sale" sign for my shee.
  22. The difference between the T5 and the T6 pipes, is that the T6 is designed to run on a stock motor, and does not respond nearly as well to port work as a set of T5's.
  23. It would be really cool to see companies like yamaha start coming out with motors like this, but I just don't think it's gonna happen. It just doesn't seem like they are really interested in sinking R&D funds into 2 stroke motors anymore. The banshee is a prime example of this. The banshee motor is a really great engine, but it really hasn't changed much since they came out with the old RZ 350's, or even the RD 350's before that. When you consider how well the new 4 strokes are selling, I really don't think they will see much point in sinking money into "outdated" 2 stroke technology. I think the only way you will see any atv manufacturers do this, is if somebody really starts losing their ass in the new battle to sell the best 450, and they decide to come out with a 2 stroke to try and steal back a share of the market. Since it really doesn't seem that any of the new 450's are head and shoulders above all the rest, I don't see that happening anytime soon.
  24. They look very nice. I wouldn't cut any more off though. Just leave them as they are, and throw some paint on them.
