Tell your friends to leave their bongs at home when they go riding. There is no way in hell that it's cheaper to build a 4 poke.
-
I got a pair of them ordered and on the way. The stickers that is, not the nuts. I already have those.
-
The story that I heard was that banshee was originally called the blaster. During the early stages of testing, one of the test riders made the comment that it "screamed like a banshee", and the name stuck.

I know there used to be camping at sandrat haven, which is where the drag strip is, but not sure if there still is. If not, the dragstrip is really close to the north campground for the state park.

I have never seen it, but I have heard of the boost bottle causing the intakes to crack, and the motor to start sucking air and run really lean. I don't know if there is any truth to this at all though.

My Chargers are out, so at this point I'm not really sure who I want to win. Would be nice to see the colts win so that peyton manning can finally get a ring, but I also got alot of respect for all of the teams out of the old black and blue division (except detroit). Regardless of who wins, I figure it should turn out to be a pretty good game.
-
I have never ran them, and don't know anyone that has. I just don't like the looks of them though. I would have a hard time trusting something like that. I would drop the extra money, and just buy a decent set of aftermarket a-arms.

Boost bottles are awesome. You put them on top of any loose papers that you have on top of your desk, and it keeps them from blowing off the desk. They aren't good for much else though.

Jim is definetly awesome to deal with. If you go to LS, and find that you need parts, you definetly want to go see Jim at Jim's sand toys, instead of wasting your time and your money with Don over at LS powersports. Even if you don't need parts, you should swing by Jim's to check out what he has or if nothing else, just to say hello. He is an awesome guy, and has always been more than willing to help anytime we needed anything while we were out there.

So, what exactly are we supposed to be filling these boost bottles up with? Since they are a worthless hunk of shit, the only appropriate thing I can think of would be to pack it full of corn and peanuts, but I don't think that's gonna help anything.

If you do a search on the internet, you can find alot of places that do custom graphics. I'm not sure how many of them will do the redbull graphics, just because of licensing agreements, since it is a trademarked logo, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

My Banshee in need of visual improving
korndawg replied to q8banshee3883's topic in Banshee Appearance
Here are a few websites to look at if you want to add some bling. http://cascadeinnovations.net/ http://modquad.com/store/default.asp http://www.cuttingedgecustom.com/ You could also start polishing some of your aluminum parts, but beware with this. The first thing you polish will look great, but it will make everything around it look like shit, so you will polish a few more things, which will in turn make the other non-polished stuff look like shit in comparison. It is very hard to find a stopping point with stuff like this. -
I'm not exactly sure why they quit making them, but I know they really weren't that great. The 500 had pretty good power, but was pretty unreliable, and didn't handle very good. The 250 didn't handle much better, and the power on those wasn't that great compared to something like a shee. A buddy of mine had an LT 250R that he dumped money into for years trying to make it go faster, and I was able to smoke him every time with a shee that had nothing more than pipes and a filter.

I had a 2003 banshee that I bought brand new back in february of 03, then had it stolen in december of 03. It had been so long since it had been stolen, that I figured it would probably never turn up. I got a call last night, and it seems that a buddy of mine went to check out a banshee that one of the guys he works with is selling. He said that the bike is so close to identical to the 03 that I had stolen that it has got to be it. I gave him the vin numbers and stuff, and he is going back today to check it out. With any luck, I will once again have my 03, in addition to my 97 shee :woot:

Yellow might look ok on that.

Those grab bars look really nice. They also make a front bumper that I would like to get. Check it out. http://www.cuttingedgecustom.com/PRODUCTpa...FrontBumper.htm

WSM is what I'm running right now. I have zero complaints about them, and they were cheaper than the wiseco pistons.

I will agree with you guys, that golf does require quite a bit of skill, however that DOES NOT make it a sport. If that did make it a sport, then would painting a picture or playing a musical instrument also be considered a sport? They both require alot of skill.
-
I agree, golf is not a sport, it's a game. Football, hockey, basketball, tennis are all sports. Stuff like golf, billiards, and bowling are not. The way I look at it is, if you can compete while having a beer and a smoke, it is not a sport.

I was just wondering if anyone has tackled the task of polishing their carbs, and if so, is it going to be as big of a pain in the ass as I think it is?

A die grinder, or a dremel with those scotch brite wheels are your best friend when you start sanding on stuff like this with tight spaces. It sure beats the hell out of sanding by hand.
-
If all you're riding is sand, I'd cut the front and the back plastic. You won't get sand too bad off the front tires, and most of the sand off of the back is going straight out behind you. I cut my front and back, and have not regreted it one bit.

As far as weather goes, me and my buddies have always found that the best time to be out there is either mid/late april to mid/late may, or early september to mid october. It is just way too hot in the summer, and if you don't have an rv you will freeze your nuts off in the winter.

Ok, who the hell is LRG? Has anyone heard of them, or am I just a little too white and a little too old?

Did we all forget about Boise State, the only other undefeated team in the country? Regardless of what conference they are from, is it really right to put several one loss teams ahead of a team with a perfect record? If I was a player at Boise State, I would be looking at a transfer right about now. The NCAA and the BCS have sent the message that they don't care how good you are. No matter what you do, if you aren't from a certain conference, you aren't eligible to play for a national title. They only care about the big name schools bringing in TV ratings. By ignoring Boise State's bid for the BCS championship game, the BCS and the NCAA are only making things worse for these schools in the mid-major conferences. How hard is it going to be for these schools to recruit top notch players when these kids know that if they play in a mid-major conference, they will never have a shot at a national title? Some people need to realize that this is not supposed to be all about the fans and the TV ratings. This is COLLEGE football, not the NFL. This is supposed to be about the student athlete more than the people watching on TV at home. Give the kids from Boise State a fair shake.
