  1. Im in the same boat as you right now. Im just not ready to throw down the several g's its gonna take to knock off a .10 of a sec. Lol
  2. The hrc 450r i had would scoot. Felt a good bit faster than a bolt on piped banshee and had no problem getting traction.
  3. 421 cub with no porting runs damn good from what i have seen. But at the same time, i think my cub with the little bit of drag porting on it runs damn good too. Mine ran high 4teens on methanol in stock uncut chassis with 250lb rider in 300' What are you going to do with it? Strictly drag race it, if so and you are looking for every little ounce of hp, port it. Otherwise run it like it is. They run great both ways.
  4. Hook your kill switch/ teather to the black/white stripe wire. Pay attention to the polarity. Hook it up backwards and you may get a shocking experience out of it. Yellow should be the hot for the lights straight off the stator. Keep in mind you will need to keep the voltage regulator to run the lights.
  5. Any modifications you make to the intake and exhaust will require a jetting change. You added a less restrictive exhaust that will make more power. This will create a lean condition and ruin your engine. 260~280ish main jets depending upon your location/ elevation & temp. Id suggest pulling the lid off, adding a clampon airfilter to your setup. You're leaving hp on the table.
  6. You should be able to adjust the caster on those arms. The ones i had, had heims on the upper arm where it attached to the frame. You want a positive caster. This means when looking at the spindle from the side, the top ball joint will be rearward of the lower. This will give you stability at high speeds. The opposite will cause the front wheels to "dart." What i did was turn the rear heim on the upper arm all the way and screw the front heim out 3~4 tturns. Hope this makes sense.
  7. No it's not. I am Hilarious. That postwhore gif is humorous.
  8. what kind of mod is done to the shift drum?
  9. here is a pic of my old setup with the lsr axle. its pretty much centered, very little offset.... and here is my new setup, offset is pretty drastic.... i would center it up with the subframe, main chassis best you can.
  10. I think you just have to "eye ball" it. Mine doesnt have any spacers or anything to center it by. Keep in mind, depending on the brand of swingarm you have, the carrier will be offset a little to the right of the centerline of the frame. This is pretty typical on our banshees. Some aftermarket arms are worse than the others. I pretty much try to center the axle best i can on the frame then tighten the hubs down. I'll try to find a picture of the ass end of my bike to show the offset. It has a jj&a on it but same concept.
  11. There is a little to it but the gains are wonderful. Methanol is corrosive and attracts moisture. You cannot leave any unused in your fuel tank or engine. You have to purge it out of your engine with gasoline to prevent rust, corrosion of internal engine parts and deterroration of seals, rubber/ plastic components. This part is easy. You will need to use an oil compatable with methanol also. Id also suggest using the same oil with your purge gas. The only downside i see is consumption. Cant ride too far from the fuel can. It takes more than gasoline so your carbs will have to be set up for it. I would have hjr do this as he is doing your engine work? You will also notice cooler operating temp. I noticed a pretty significant gain converting over to methanol.
  12. You get used to using the C12, methanol will be an entire different ballgame. You will wonder why you didnt try it sooner.
  13. No. Just the stuff they have in bulk, made by gates. Not fancy looking but lasts a good while.
  14. i had some +2 width +1 forward lonestar arms on one of my old banshees and the stock brake lines were plenty long enough.
  15. Does anyone have any seat time on one of these serval engines? Personally, id do the cub cylinder.
  16. Probably a bike length + - or a couple of grand.......
  17. sounds like you got a heck of a deal. nice bike.... what's that you got going on, on the work bench behind your banshee?
  18. See if your friend will let you try them before making a full trade. I like the stu's also. I have some 16 pad 26" sandblasters on my canam and they do really well.
  19. make time, sell one of your kidneys and meet up with us at sandhill, i will buy you a cheeseburger. im tring to get my bikes ready for a trip around the weekend of the 12~13th of next month.
  20. It may just be me but in the first vid sounds like the silencer needs repacking.
  21. No its not. I have one, previous owner said so. You would have to do a bit of modding to the frame to set it up snomo style. Id go all the way and get a big snomo engine and dump the banshee motor.
  22. i would stay away. the one i had was a piece of garbage. previous owner is a piece of garbage too. yes, a bigger sleeve installed with a special, high dollar piston set up for a long rod.
  23. Either. My last build, i had a +8 on my 4mil cub and if i had to do it over again i would have put a bit longer arm on it. Cant really go wrong with either 4 or 10, they both can be extremely potent when set up right. I have seen both take each other out.
