  1. if you havent already your gonna have to take the gears off of the crank. Otherwise you won't be able to replace the seal. And yes put sealant all the way around the perimeter of the cases and any other area you can see that is machined. It would be easiest for you to just look where it was sealed before. Put sealant all the way around the crank seals and sprocket seal as well. Be sure not to forget the bearing clip/retainers like we talked about on the phone. Have all the nipples on the bearings in the cutouts as well.
  2. yeah the piston crown is going to lack a few mm's from the deck at TDC.....,.100 thousandths squish
  3. i believe what he was refferring to was the other cylinder in this post. From speedy. Completely different subject that shouldn't have gotten brought up in your post.
  4. haha yeah thats true, I never get involved in that shit, although i enjoy reading it sometimes. i didn't even mean to come across as trying to start someting, i never do, then BAM next thing you know it i guess i offended someone.
  5. well your definitly right, it is a shitty picture. As for me to guess what your looking for, no tellin. There is alot wrong, like mj said, looks like someone used something to pry the head off, the cylinder definitly needs honed/bored, the transfers do seem to have different durations but that isnt always a bad thing (depending on what type of port job you are after)
  6. you don't want the intake bridge knive edged anyways...plus you can tell he did more then "hog out" the intake. Look how shiny the exhaust port is, plus you can clearly see the roof of the transfers have been touched because of the visual appearence being different than factory.
  7. looks pretty good, exhaust seems to be nicely polished as well. Pictures seem to be blurry though. Who cut them?
  8. never use a screwdriver to "pry" the cases apart, this is a machined surface and this "prying" will destroy the surface. Also you do not have to take the center bolt/clutch adjustment mechanism out of the center of the pressure plate.
  9. ill tell you what happens, you don't get all the aluminum out of the crank so then when you put your cylinders and new pistons that you just spent a lot of money on all back together it blows up again. Trust me, split it and do it the right way. Replace the seals, gaskets, fresh bore, new pistons rings, do it RIGHT, jet it correctly, you won't have any more problems.
  10. that price does not include the cases. Just the cylinders, pistons, head, intakes, gaskets.
  11. gasmask got you the number. Something must be up cause greg and paula are definitly good people. They will get you taken care of, Ive found the best way to get ahold of them is to just call though. Leave a message and they will call you right back.
  12. if it was a monoblock with powervalves with adjustable knobs on the end it was a trex.
  13. got the new number saved, thanks! and both of them are cool as hell, always return my call asap if they dont pick up the first time and the business is awesome, couple days and its done. They are like jeff though, you get them on the phone for business and you end up talking for 30 minutes about nothing! Good people
  14. its paula and greg, not pam and the number i just used a couple days ago was 1-863-662-5525, maybe it doesnt work anymore though.
  15. damn talk about some money in pipe springs! ::
  16. Ill put all four yamaha ones on it next year...those damn things are expensive!
  17. ok, ill just put all four of the strong springs i got on it and see what happens. Thanks again.
  18. Hey guys I got a question, ive been meaning to ask it for a while now but I just completely forgot and now its winter and I havent been riding my bike, but anyways on my trex bike, the pipes will blow off of the exhaust flanges probably between 1/2 inch to 5/8 of an inch when reving it way up. Is this just a sign of weak exhaust springs or is this a sign that big bore pipes are needed? At the time I had one fmf spring and one oem yamaha spring on each pipe, its all i had at the moment. Ive got all four of the genuine yamaha springs now that ill try this next season. I know that bb pipes are meant for 535 or bigger or some stuff like that but i also know that many others run them on smaller cc's. Mine is 427cc. When I was looking to buy pipes last year I done research and talked to Matt and he said that I could be boarder line but he told me to go with the sb. Any info appriciated. Thanks
  19. I love my shearers
  20. no i dont believe so. you need to copy and past the IMG link into your reply instead of hte URL link
  21. I cant tell you exactly what it is but the first thing i would do is pull the sidecase off and all the clutch shit and look at the shift star and make sure it is all tight.
  22. the powervalve basically adjusts your exhaust duration depending on rpm. at lower the rpms, the powervalve is closed which results in more low end power. As rpms increase the valve opens increasing your top end.
  23. the intakes off a 92 yz250 is whats in mine i believe. here is the place that you can get everything from. http://www.dasaracing.com/sitepages/DasaRa...mahaATVnew.html
